The english version has jacoby from papa roach singing with the hu, fair warning youtube will come at ya for the swwastika the hu uses despite its a sympol of peace
This was quite an interesting twist I wasn't expecting. More than anything else, I was expecting for them to play instruments most of us are familiar with. Not traditional Mongolian ones. Very, very cool sound and singing, even though I got no clue what they were singing about it sounded like a tribal war chant. You guys definitely have to do more reactions to this band. It sounds awesome.
Regarding throat singing /Singer songwriter 🎸guitarist Paul Pena( most soulful Cat that ever lived) who wrote the original version of Jet Airliner ( Steve Miller ) heard legendary Tuvan ( bordering Mongoliq) throat singing group "Hun Hur Tu" on a Bay Area radio Station. He was so enamored he taught himself throat singing which he combines with blues rock & folk etc. He traveled to Tuva to meet and perform with Hun Hur Tu which is all Documented in the Award Winning Documentary Genghis Blues(1999). I highly suggest they react to the film..Paul fell on very hard times with health declining which adds to the beauty the healing recieved with his new friendships made in Tuva. Its a truly beautiful and moving film. Tragically Paul has since passed .

Found these guys during the VID. Check out the calab. they did with Jocoby Shaddix of Pappa Roach to this song. Also they have "Yuve Yuve Yu", they did 2 Metallica covers "Sad but True" and "Through the Never", and my favorite song Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This one was used in the video game.
Most of the throat singing comes from bordering to Mongolia/ Tuva / Check masters of throat singing "Hun Hur Tu" There is a project with Bassist Tony Levin ( King Crimson/ Peter Gabriel and countless others) that is mind blowing !!
5:37 The 2 stringed instruments are called Morin Khuur (Horsehead Fiddle), and an authentic one will cost you over $4,000.00, though you can find cheap copies for around $400. Traditionally the 2 “strings” are made from the tail hair of the player’s own horse (to “bind the instrument to the player), the “Male” (thicker) string has 150 hairs, the “Female” (thinner) string has 130. It is said that the sign of a master Morin Khuur player is they can Mimic horse neighs & whinnies as well as Falcon cries using the instrument.
Yay!!! I don't often listen to the Hu but when I do I want to pillage some villagers after. :) For what it's worth Hu is the Mongolian word for Human or so I've heard. You should hear their song A Woman's Song with LIzzy Hale, also they do a cover of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica that's pretty awesome

Great reaction, Sam and Phil! For some reason, I thought you had listened to The Hu Band early on, but I'm mistaken. Yuve Yuve Yu and Song of Women featuring Lzzy Hale are good songs to react to.
You should watch there song mother nature featuring LP, it's a treat for your soul, it's an acoustic song and really tribal, it shows a different side of the band.
A band also known for - not exclusive - throat singing is Heilung, and their music has been featured on Vikings. Most of their instruments are _very_ special. I would suggest Krigsgaldr or In Maidjan, both from the LIFA performance.
12:05 ok now that the video is over… The Wolf Totem is actually part of a 12th or 13th Century Mongolian “poem” that is believed to have been written by one of Chinggis Khaan’s (Ghengis Khan’s) sons, basically it was a warning to other Nations/Empires not to mess with Mongolia. The HU chose select parts to use to make “The Wolf Totem”, they are as Patriotic about Mongolia as we are about America, that is always cool.
I saw these guys open for Iron Maiden in Las Vegas back in October. I've seen Judas priest Ozzy Osbourne Metallica kiss Vandenberg dokken many others but these guys went harder than any band I've ever seen before. Their performance was super tight too.
Traditionally, the Horse Head fiddle's strings (2 string insrument played with a bow) were made of horse hair. One string, the larger, from the hair of a stallion, the other string, from the hair of a mare.

I recommend the video of them playing "Sugaan Essena" (which is an adaptation of their song "Black Thunder"...adapted for use in a Star Wars video game). You get to see the whole band.
Definitely need to check out more from these guys. They did another version of this song with Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach which is great. Also check out Yuve Yuve Yu, Song of Women ft. Lzzy Hale from Halestorm and Black Thunder is another awesome track too.
Since you are on an international rabbit hole, check out Inkaquenas from Peru, and O-Shen from the Pacific. (different than the Hu). From the first group I mentioned check out El Condor Pasa, Chacharpaya del Indio, and Moliendo Cafe. From the second one check out Meri Lewa, Turango, Country Boy, and Deeper Look.
Metal is the language of the universe haha even single cell organisms bop to this. The same song, Wolf Totem ft. Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach is a must listen. He throws in some English lyrics. Song of Women ft Lzzy Hale will put tears in your eyes And for 3rd recommendation, I have to request Sully Erna from Godsmack. The song is called 7 years. It is from Sully's solo project called Avalon. If you like the chanty vibe from Wolf Totem, also check out Sully Erna's song Sinners Prayer.
Another great band that brings the tribal is Alien Weaponry. A good start would be Rū Ana Te Whenua or Kai Tangata. They do the majority in the Māori language
Native mongolian instruments meet hard rock or heavy metal. First heard them a few years ago. If you've heard any native American music before, the beat of the music reminds ne of that. I recommend more by the Hu, including their version of Metallica- nothing else matters.

OK, if we're going all "tribal music" then I have a suggestion for you--- Wardruna "Helvegen" live from The Faroe islands. Release your inner Viking!!!! ua-cam.com/video/cg0TQyjdHJ0/v-deo.html
Thank you . Please react he Hu Sugaana Essena, Cover of Metallica Sad but True, Bii bielgee and another Mongolian singer Enkh-Erdene's American got talent Fantasy league song, and cover of Elvis Presley " Don't be cruel", Can't help falling in love .
Ran across them a couple of years ago. These guys are really good. Need to do some more by this group.
You need to see it with the captions on so you can understand what they are signing about and how badass the Huns are.
Love The Hu. "Song of Women" featuring Lzzy Hale is exceptional.
I would add the song collab with LP, and the Metallica cover along with Song of Women
The english version has jacoby from papa roach singing with the hu, fair warning youtube will come at ya for the swwastika the hu uses despite its a sympol of peace
Somebody got you guys into The Hu.. Mongolian Throat Singing.... This is some great stuff. next try "Yuve Yuve Yu".

That was interesting but more importantly entertaining.
Hu is the Mongolian root word for Human! I am not sure if you read the subtitles, but they explain what the song is about! 👍👍😊😊👩👩👗👗👠👠❤❤

I love old school old is gold😊❤️
Huge props to Iron Maiden for bringing The Hu on their most recent tour as openers!!!
I been waiting for someone to react to this. So cool

This rolls up on my city, I'm giving it to them. No question.
The actual song is an ncient battle song the hu add3d lyrics and made this
Saw them open for Iron Maiden recently. They fuckin rocked it! Huge primal atmosphere and trancing feel with the pounding beat
Same, saw the Portland show. Went in skeptical, but they turned me into a fan.

I saw them in 2024 in Montreal, they were opening for Iron Maiden. They sounded awesome. Great reaction.
Wow, this was a different experience in music, which i quite liked.

I didn't think I was going to like this but I really have to hear more from them
Yes same for me
They put on a great live show. Didn't understand a word of it, didn't matter.

Never heard of 'em. Totally unlike 'Pictures of Lily', for example. Cool as tundra, recently frozen steppes.
✌🏼😁🎶❤️🍄🌿🥃☕️✨️🕊
This is Mongul is another banger.
There is an English version, done by THE HU, and the lead singer of PAPA ROACH , I think his name is JACOBY can't remember his last name

This is a battle cry. Primal
The last song you hear before your village gets leveled....
They did a cover of Sad but True
MORE FOLK METAL PLEASE. Eluveitie would be a fantastic band to check out.
One of my favorite songs is "Ancient Egyptian Love Song" by Peter Pringle.
Suggested this to you some time ago... gets in your blood.

Thank you . Please react he Hu Sugaana Essena, Cover of Metallica Sad but True, Bii bielgee and another Mongolian singer Enkh-Erdene's American got talent Fantasy league song, and cover of Elvis Presley " Don't be cruel", Can't help falling in love .
Don't mean to offend anyone, but why are these Mongols giving me American Indian vibes?
The Mongolians are actually a indigenous tribe near the Bearing Strait. So, their physical appearances are very similar.
@@jessicaleblanc-nh1yl Because the American Indian crossed over the "land bridge" and Mongolians stayed.
Gen-gs Khan rides again. The Mongols will go marauding across the steppes to reclaim their empire!
The hu did a cover song to Metallica
is it a us joke ? singing this song in english ? so american
What can I say? They may be talented in their genre, but certainly not my cup of tea.
I'd rather someone be honest like you rather than be insulting because they do not like it
Try checking out their videos with the English subtitles, to get a better understanding of what the songs are about.
You don't like Rock music? Because thats the genre this is.
You guys got to get back to doing more Japanese female rock. Like band maid and nemophilia.. Happy New Year to both you guys. Stay blessed and safe.
Ya gotta do the Metallica remake!
