I was already impressed with Hitman when it launched in 2016 and with the PS4 Pro Update, but this is pretty sweet. Wonder if I should triple dip and buy the GOTY Edition on my Xbox One X, too. The devs actually deserve it after being treated so badly by Square Enix. Can't wait for Season 2.

If you own a PS4 PRO how do you feel. And don't say "It about gameplay not graphics" because you was not saying that when PS4 vs Xbox One.
I feel pretty good. I see a good lineup of games releasing for PS4 Pro next year. While Xbox owners just have to glorify over Cuphead and Forza... and the slightly better graphics. Was I supposed to be upset by this video because the game runs slightly better on the X? I'd rather have 30fps locked than have the framerate all over the place. That's why I have Hitman and a few other third parties on PC so I can achieve actual 60fps and not the mess seen in this video on both consoles. Oh and also grab games like Cuphead and Forza since they're not even exclusives.

PS4PRO = ~4 TFLOPS, ~40fps
XBONEX = ~6 TFLOPS, ~60fps
1.5x more TFLOPS and you get 1.5x more fps. Looks good to me.
60fps? Did you watch the video? The Xbox X was under 60fps the majority of the time, dipping to 40s at times. Better than the Pro still, but it's not something to be happy about imo.
also higher cpu clocks removes the bottleneck in this game when trying to hit 60fps (the only areas it drops below 60fps are areas where the gpu gets hit harder at that resolution)
One of the biggest leap is memory bandwith 326 go/s against 218 ! Provide a far better texture filtering and quality

PC GameBoy I’m pretty sure the ~ symbol presents that it’s around 60 fps and around 40 fps. Anyone with that understanding would know that doesn’t mean “equal to” which is represented by the = symbol.

First: X1X won't be able to do 4k, my gtx 1060/70 struggles to keep 4k at decent framerate
- Some games run at true native 4k
Second: Well it won't be able to do 4k 60 fps at any decent graphical setting
- Forza, Battlefield, COD, Halo 5, Battlefront 2 among others hit that mark at some points
3rd: The X is a joke I can build a PC that is better for the sames or less price
- PC world tries and the closest they get is 700 without a 4k Blue ray Drive
Just give credit where credit is due the X is a great console for someone looking for the best graphical machine on console. Consoles will never be better than the higest end PC's but yet they claim the X is garbage and that we should just buy a PC. Just let the console owners and ones that prefer to play on consoles enjoy the system. We're never gonna say that the X is better than your GTX 1080 or whatever crazy you setup you purchased over time. We're not saying its better, we're just saying it's closer than it has ever been this generation.

I own a PS4 and am looking forward to building a PC. However, if I had to get another console it would be a One X hands down. I'll keep my PS4 for the exclusives. But, anybody looking to stick with a console should buy the One X. I have a ton of 360 games and a few og Xbox titles. These early results are really better than I expected. The cpu is still the achilles. And, it makes me wonder what we could've got had MS bumped the cpu clock up to 2.5-2.7ghz. But, in terms of taking care of gamers still on 1080p with their old libraries MS is killing it. I like competition. So, I honestly hope One X whips the Pro and forces Sony to innovate and offer more for the PS4 owner's dollar.

I would like to see a future patch implement dynamic resolution scale in this game. It would make sense for IO to utilize it to maintain fps and prevent those performance dips.

I'd love to see an analysis of GR:Wildlands. I've played it on both the X and Pro. On the X it seems to be smoother with higher resolution and faster load times. I did noticed, however, that there's some more noticable texture load-in when coming back from the menu and there's sometimes a weird amount of fog to the point where you can't even see anything.
Great video again John, keep the X stuff coming. It's a great watch and I find these videos fascinating!

It really is amazing to see these results with such a weak cpu. If One X had a 1080p mode it would probably stick to 60fps 99.9% of the time.

Fully agree with bringing back Jesper Kyd. My favorite Hitman track is definately White Room (Title theme from Hitman Contracts)
This makes me very disappointed in the pro. I just booted up the game and put it at console settings 1080p with supersampling scaling it to 1404p on a GTX 970 ssc and 4690k (not OCd) and it turned in Xbox One X performance on DX11 (mainly 60fps with drops in certain areas to about 55-57 usually and the heaviest drops in marrakesh down to 49fps) and then put the scaler up to 1944p and got locked 30fps 99% of the time. I'm impressed that a 500 dollar console can do that (I spent 200 on my gpu and 100 on my cpu in used deals but overall the PC is worth quite a bit over 500 bucks) but the ps4 pro which isn't significantly cheaper than the X cant handle 1440p at even above 45fps at all times and cant even do high resolutions like 1620p upwards. I prefer PS4 games so I got the original ps4 and not the xbox but it seems like its time to swap back to xbox for the first time since my 360 died in 2013.
Even if the ps4 pro had decent support (it doesn't at all, its basically a 1440p 30fps machine) it still doesn't manage to get anywhere near xbox one levels of performance and isn't worth the upgrade over regular ps4. Xbox one x on the other hand is like a generational leap over the garbage 2013 xbone.
I play on PC and i will allways play on PC, but i truly like the new consoles, PS4 Pro and Xbox One, they add quality for those that don't understand PC components and Graphical settings, there's going to be a throwback allways though, framerates, mods, mouse and keyboard. Between consoles i really don't mind the difference in quality, i just like exclusives, for that i stick with PS4 for now, that aside, the Xbox One is the superior product, it's pure graphical brute force.

I think for the high framerate mode you should be able to choose between 1440p (mostly 60fps, some dips) and 1080p/dynamic (completely locked at 60fps).

I/O always blew me away with environmental details and crowds in games. Never forget being amazed at a play through for Hitman Absolution where at the end he disappears into a crowd as the camera pulls away from the scene, just blew my mind. This is what I want to see more of in games, good crowd tech.

I would hate to be a game developer these days it must be a highly stressful position constantly pressured to create perfection video after video of graphic analyzing tearing apart every pixel frame by frame It would be interesting to know how developers react to videos like this
for those of you who have been wondering about the pixel density of commonly used console resolutions, in relation to 1080p:
1080p x 0.44 = 720p
1080p x 0.69 = 900p
1080p x 1.78 = 1440p
1080p x 2.78 = 1800p
1080p x 4.00 = 2160p (4k)
Btw, native 4k is 44% more pixels than 1800p... that's why pc gamers are not impressed with all these x1x games running in "console 4k" mode, with med/high settings. An RX 580/GTX 1060 could easily do that.

You need to look at Ghost Recon Wildlands. It might be the best looking game that's XB1X Enhanced. It's really TOO good because now it's so clear that you can see a lot of level of detail pop-in

When well implemented is a bigger jump than 1080p to 4k in my opinion. A real game changer compared to a resolution bump.

Why are you guys not covering Skyrim on PSVR ? Almost been a week since its release, even though you did cover the inferior Switch version. 60fps on VR seems good.
