Jumbo, I'm relieved to see a strategy game guide video tbh! During a thankfully short spell in hospital, I happened to see a notification mentioning JumboPixel and Elden Ring in the same sentence. I thought I must've somehow been transported to a parallel universe!! I'm home now, and pleased that normal service seems to have been resumed :-D
Sorry to hear that! Hope you’re on the mend. Rest assured, the odd Elden Ring stream doesn’t change the focus of my channel. It is nice for me to have some variety though.
@@JumboPixel thx need to have more tests, but fingers crossed! Yeah I can imagine you enjoyed the change of pace, I will watch some of it to see if you were a fish out of water like I would be playing a game like that!
Could you do ability explaining stability and how to keep it up throughout the game I always get stuck around the industrial area focusing on trying to get my stability up
I dont remember name of that luxury resource, but in multiplayer, i destroyed 2 other players, because it boosted science for every Plaza and administration centre - i got 4 (only resource i found except 1 horse). I Had Babylon, he Asyria - i destroyed his horse archers with my archers and swordsman already avaible in ancient era - very quick win. Classical technologies was researched before moving to second era.
I know everyone really likes Zhou, but to be honest, I really don't like them that much: The Confucian School's power is EXTREMELY conditional, more than any other district in the game really: You need at least two adjacement mountains to make it effective, and ideally, 3+ is better.. This leaves out the other underlying issues with it, which is a matter of resource management. In the early game (ESPECIALLY on Humankind Difficulty), your primary goal should be to boost food and production as much as possible in order to grow your population and build as much as you possibly can (Especially defensive military units, as the AI loves declaring war on your and throwing multiple deathstack armies at you when this happens.)... The Confucian School really, really gets in the way of this crucial task. Additionally, putting the Confucian School next to mountains kind of wastes almost all of the productive potential of those mountains you could just get with a maker's quarter, and also, because there are so many mountains around it, plus the fact that you don't acquire reserach quarters until early in the Classical Era, the potential research quarter proximity synergy you could get with Zhou is extremely diminished. All of these factors make me very, very reluctant to pick Zhou on the highest difficulties if I am going for Science Victories. The Babylonians and the Harrapans can produce more science under much more general conditions than Zhou to be honest. In fact, the only Humankind Difficulty victories I have only really ever had has been with the Harappans due to their ability to grow faster than anyone else, and this growth is what pretty much powers everything else you can do.
One solution which could counter this and make Zhou extremely competitive is to make the Confucian School a dual research/makers quarter: That would correct a whole lot of the issues with it.
The mountain condition definitely makes the School more volatile. Although two things to remember: *neolithic era removes any nasty surprises (you either know it’s a Zhou game, or it isn’t a Zhou game) *Zhou’s stability buffs are quite powerful too, but their impact is less obvious than food At the end of the day it’s no worries to me if you value then lower than me, though! I’ve found success in using the powerful early science to my advantage by outperforming even the Babylonians and overwhelming them with superior units, then worried about other yields later in my newly (easily) acquired cities. Could be other ways to play.
@@JumboPixel Yeah but that brings up other key points about the shortcomings of Zhou: Like the Hittites, their unique unit is indeed extremely powerful in the Ancient Era, but the problem is it requires multiple strategic resources you must secure before getting it, how you have to research two additional techs before even being able to create chariots, and how late the Wheel comes in the Ancient Era. The lateness is less of an issue with a science stronk Zhou, but that also leaves the issue of: a) Having a limited amount of time before you have to advance to the Classical Era, rendering a whole lot of your Zhou strategy moot; and b) chariots are very good in field battles, but are almost completely useless in offensive sieges.
Say I play a science culture and rush to the colony plan upgrade of the next era will it work if I do not have the technologies for the infrastructures provided in the colony plan???
How can u reach the modern in less than 150 rounds? I watch a lot of guides from u... but i never reach the modern (i want test the nukes but yeah). Can u tell me how i must play for reach it fast as u can?
I’d suggest you use this video to set up a good scientific base. Then look to cultures that provide industry or science (preferably using both throughout the game) and focus on science/ industry for all district and infrastructures beyond the basic food you need.
I usually focus on science, so this really helpful (already know the basic stuff) but still helpful :)
Glad to hear it!

Does the weather change the game and is time evident?
I really like these tip videos. I always feel inspired to fire up Humankind and try these out right away.
I love that feeling!

Nope, you need to research the infrastructures before they can be built regardless
@@JumboPixel okay thank you for letting me know I didn’t know if it was worth rushing to it or not when playing a science culture

Is the auto explore still viable
It works perfectly fine now - not broken like at launch, if that’s what you’re referring to.
How do I see my total science?
