    What a privilege to get a personal tour from Dan, great photos in their offices and brings back memories when I was in the crowd at Oran Park during that period, David, Dan and Chris know their stuff and only exceeded by their enthusiasm. Have been lucky enough to have tour at David's Private Compound in Buderim when it was open. Howard hope you get a chance in the near future to get a private tour for your You Tube channel. Thanks to Dan and hope he drew a breath after the interview an again Howard thanks for your time. Bill Mc

    I was privileged enough to have a night time viewing of dad’s collection with the DJR team mates. The passion Dan had when he was talking about each car and explaining the history and why each car was important to them is second to none. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to visit the collection again.

    The kids paid for me to attend the buderim property for the first event where they started some of the cars up,that GT40 was absolute mechanical music,then there was the lineup of three cars from a grid from a 1970s race,from my fading memory it was Beecheys Monaro, Geoghans Super Falcon and either Moffatts Mustang or GTHO. Been to buderim 3 times now,listening to Dan give the backstory/history of the cars and how they came to acquire them,he has your full attention.

    1984 HDT cars do NOT have the engines they ran at Bathurst - totally different engines & different parts .
    Any of the mechanics will tell you the truth about the 2 cars .

    • @BowdensOwn
      @BowdensOwn 6 місяців тому

      Yes that's pretty fascinating, although hardly unexpected by many, or pushed by ourselves or anyone else these great old racecars actually do? You may personally not be aware that racecars live a very different, harder life over what many road cars ever do. It's due to that purposeful way they were used that very few will ever retain their original numbered engines, or if they do, they are best put on a shelf if you wish to continue using them as originally intended.
      We are in the middle of doing our best to get #25 back to what it was though, almost a year and half into it now, even tracking down the super rare original twin point, twin coil ignition, mechanical tach systems that Repco helped make for HDT in the day. After this is done you'll see and hear it back on track racing again, hopefully at Bathurst this year for the 40 year anniversary. :)
