Yes this is correct the cold will cause chilblains. However once you have a chilblain, sudden change in temperature and heating up your feet too quickly will further exacerbate the condition and should be avoided. Gradual warming of the extremities with socks, warm slipper, blankets etc are recommended not heat sources such as a hot shower/ bath, heat bags etc.
