I freeze in ice cube trays items that I do not use often or that are coming to expiry date. Tomato paste, buttermilk, eggs (cracked open), sour cream, pesto, etc. Than grab a couple cubes when needed for a recipe. Saves on waste and units are premeasured.
I like your hacks. I have one that I use all the time. I buy milk in gallons. I then fill large canning jars with the milk and put in the freezer. This way I don't have milk going sour when it nears the end of the jug. When I need some I just take out the night before to thaw.
I hate the bacon splashing grease in my oven, so I put a sheet of parchment under the bacon, and another over the bacon as well. The bacon still crisps great and does not mess up my oven as much! Thanks for your tips, thought I'd share mine. :D
Thank you! This hacks are great! I don't know if is a hack, but I write and enumerate all the steps of my meal preap (including wash vegetables and so) and check when I'm done with everyone. In that way, I don't forget anything but also, I feel I finish faster because I don't have to think about the next step, just follow my list.
Hard boiled eggs in the electric pressure cooker! I use the 5-5-5 method and honestly I find that it’s the best way to make them, and my favorite Sunday Meal Prep hack🤓
We don't eat many hard boiled eggs, but the Instant Pot is totally my go to when we do! Last time I did 5 min + QPR and they were still a little runny so I will try the 5 min natural release...thanks for sharing!
Great video👍🏼 thanks for sharing💕 I am all about eating healthy and saving time in the kitchen by meal prepping! Love your tips and ideas! And seriously those appliances (crockpot, rice cooker, instant pot) are great time savers and I use it all the time to cook healthy and scrumptious meals. Thank you so much again, and have a wonderful day ❤️
Me too! As a single senior woman, I don't really want to drag out pans and make a mess for little old me three times a day. Prepping is the only way to go for me.
Research has shown a link between food cooked directly on aluminum foil and dementia. I always use parchment paper. Amazon sells a package of 200 12 by 16 sheets for $13 and it is unbleached and it beats those rolls from the grocery store by a mile. It makes clean up soooo much easier.
I tell my kids when they ask me for some special food or snack to tell Alexa, not me. This way I dont forget. Not only food, also shampoo and stuff like that. In real life they tell me but I can forget. So this makes it easy
If I’m cooking meat (like a salsa chicken) and rice, I’ll cook them both in my Instant Pot at the same time with the meat on the bottom, and the rice in a covered container on my egg rack.
I found ur channel through your blogs and i love your videos cuz u gave great tips. Don’t take this the wrong way I’m only saying this bc I want u to get more views as you deserved. Maybe u can make ur videos more engaging by using more “action” clips of making the food or b-roll shot of the food, while narrating over them. And use way less talking clips as you are such a calm and collected lady, your voice would be great over narration. Most of the high views talking video i noticed are people who are very animated and exaggerated when they talk which I don’t think is your thing.
LOL Alexa added broccoli to my shopping list!!! I do actually use that with her. The timer was a good suggestion. Thanks for another great video. Hope you and your family are doing well during these difficult times. Stay safe and healthy :)
An Instant Pot is a type of pressure cooker. I don't have any experience with any other models though but I believe most Instant Pot recipes *should* work in a pressure cooker :)
I should specify: toss it in whole and then cut it in half after it's soft when pressed on. Sometimes I stab it a few times before throwing it in there but so many times I haven't (cuz ADHD 😅) and I don't know what difference it makes lol. But perfect spagooti squarsh every time!! 💪🏻🏆🏆
I use Alexa for a timer, but I love your idea of having her tell me when it's time to do other prep! My son has a recipe app on his Echo and she reads recipes to him while he's cooking. She gives him a step, then waits til he's ready for the next one. BTW my Alexa is set to an Australian accent (I'm American, love the accent) and that makes for a more enjoyable relationship with her. Yes, I call Alexa "her" :)
how do you find the nordic ware bakesheet please? I've seen some reviews on amazon saying that the logo disrupts the baking and it leeches aluminium on their kitchen towel?

This is a great tip! I do this with cans of chipotles and coconut milk as well :)
My mom always had bags full of cubed broth - beef, chicken, and seafood.

I have never frozen milk before, but I've heard this one before! Great tip, thanks for sharing!

Great tip, thanks for sharing Donna!
What a great idea! I'm def using this one.

That's smart! And also, doesn't it feel so good to cross things off your list?
I have to do that too or I tend to get lost. Very helpful.

I love this! One less thing to remember!
Brilliant

That's a great way to multi-task!

Cooking your bacon in the air fryer is awesome!
I haven't tried that yet! How is the clean up after...that's what I'm a little worried about :)
I am a newbie.. can I use frozen stuff whenever, in place of fresh
LOL Alexa added broccoli to my shopping list!!! I do actually use that with her. The timer was a good suggestion. Thanks for another great video. Hope you and your family are doing well during these difficult times. Stay safe and healthy :)
Ha ha!! She's always listening in, isn't she?
Can you prep meals uncooked as well or is it best to have the meal cooked and ready to go ? How long will the food last went it prep ahead of time?
Which rice cooker do you use?
It's linked in the description box above!
When Alexa makes a shopping list for you, how do you use that list when shopping?
Alexa transfers the list to an app on your phone.
Yep I go into the alexa app, then find my list and cross things off as I go :)
What is an InstaPot? Do you mean Pressure Cooker?

Do ya one better, toss that squash in the microwave 8-10 minutes 🤌🏻💋
Great tip!

the first three tips you gave for time saving would also add to the cost of your groceries... thanks but no thanks
LOL!!! My Alexa echo started your 10 min timer while I was watching. Too funny
Haha!! I wondered if that might happen to someone!

When you travel you always have the app on your phone. Hey Siri!
I need to use Siri more often! Thanks for the reminder :)
lol Thanks! I now have broccoli on my shopping list! Alexa heard you!
Aaaah I was wondering if this would happen to someone!
Amazing, you are amazing!!! Make more of these please!
Wow! You have some real gems here!
how do you find the nordic ware bakesheet please? I've seen some reviews on amazon saying that the logo disrupts the baking and it leeches aluminium on their kitchen towel?
Love love love them! Have had none of the issues you mention.
OH, MY! When you are Tge piece of bacon ... loved it! I do like using a piece of parchment paper with baked bacon to make cleanup easier.
Ha ha!! I love bacon :)
