Where have freezer meals been all my life? Thesecare the greatest. I'm going to add chicken breasts to all of them & I cannot wait to try "hoison" meatloaf. I love hoison sauce, so why not. Keep up the fantastic ideas. Love the one & done pan casserole dishes. 😁

I live in the UK. Our supermarkets have frozen potatoes in various forms, frozen chips, frozen roast potatoes, frozen mash, frozen potato croquettes. And frozen potatoe waffles.
I think that the key to all of them is that they are par boiled then plunged into ice water to stop the cooking process.
I have tried it my self and frozen the potatoes on a greaseproof paper lined tray in a thin layer then once frozen you put them into a freezer bag or container.
And cook from frozen just like all the supermarket food

Thanks for all the recipes and inspiration again! I don’t cook with meat, but it did give me some ideas. Btw I’m Dutch but I don’t use a ‘G’ in onion, maybe that’s what people meant? Have a great day!

I follow your youtube channel and have tried a couple of your recipes. When you freeze in the glass containers, do you ever heat in the oven? Because I am afraid that it could break up due to the change in temperature.

    • @SweetPeasSaffron
      @SweetPeasSaffron  4 роки тому +2

Hi Corinne! Thanks for following along :) When I freeze in glass, I let it thaw completely. At that point, I'd be comfortable to put the container into the oven. If I plan to place something from the freezer into the oven from frozen (like a lasagna), I make sure I freeze in a metal container. Hope this helps!

I was house sitting for my sister this past weekend and made her 4 of these: the meatloaf, the thighs, the enchilada cass, & the one with the garbanzos. Her & her husband enjoyed the meatloaf and the thighs but looooooved the enchilada casserole. They haven’t tried the garbanzo one yet but at this rate, it’ll be a hit too. Thanks for taking the time to put this video up.

    Hi and congratulations!
Found this in your Pin 7 meal plans. Loved the pin the ideas and the meals. :)
This one left me with a question:
    Can Ifreeze leftovers?
The food was frozen raw, then it was cooked. Can it be frozen again?
Let's say I make those dishes for 4 perons but I live alone, unless I have people coming over, I will only eat two parts of the food in 3 days.
That leaves my with half, already cooked that I could put in individual containers and just heat up when I wanted (probably the following 2 weeck, one container each each).
This would strech my 5 meals fom that weeck in 15 new already cooked portions for the following 3 weeks.
    If I can freeze them.
    Can I?

Welcome, Maria! Yes, after you freeze the uncooked meal, cook it up, portion it out and freeze again. I consider cooking the meal as 'resetting' the clock if that makes sense. Hope you enjoy!
