RF Kuang actually did get a hugeeeee book deal while she was still a college student almost like athena in yellow face!!! she’s so talented and i saw something she wrote about having pressure to have her sophmore work and future stuff live up to the insane success of her first book series
i read the first book and loved it but then i read the second and it wasn’t my favorite. is book three better? i want to continue the series but i don’t want to get bored
if you liked 'Emily Wild's Encyclopedia of Faeries,' you should pick up 'A Far Wilder Magic'. I've heard very little talk about it online, and it deserves so much more fanfare. It's a cozy light fantasy that does a really good job in the romance and character department. I desperately need more people to talk about it. Thank you for coming to my ted-talk.
I started watching your videos last year and I feel like your reviews or discussions about books as a whole has gotten even better. You really explain techniques that writers use to make their stories interesting. Thanks for sharing!
I'd say definitely read the second Emily Wilde book, it's a lot more focused on their relationship I think and Emily also seems a lot more confident in herself which is nice to see 🍄❄️
would have never fallen in love with reading without you!! my shelves are filled with your recommendations love your videos so much Haley! Started my book channel because of watching your videos all the time ⭐️💕✨
This book series it’s hard to come by because it’s discontinued, but I recommend Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. I read it in fourth grade and I loved it, warning though it’s kind of depressing.
I am not sure if you will see this but I want to thank you for pushing my to read again. I just recently started to read again and I find so much joy in it. I do struggle when it comes to reading and always lose my confidence that it makes me hate reading. Unfortunately I am almost 26 and struggle with a learning disability which is emberassing say the least for reading. I am only a 5th grader level when it comes to reading which makes it so hard for me. But watching booktokers and book UA-camrs has encouraged me to read a lot more. And I been pushing myself with these big ass books cause I refuse to let this effect my love of reading. So thank you to all the book people on here. And if you struggle when it comes to reading just know y'all got this we don't give up here. Much love I will continue reading I read 6 books so far in the month of January and I plan on to keep going.
You should do a vid reading all the classics! Frankenstein, animal farm, to kill a mockingbird, Maus, etc, maybe even Shakespeare!? Idk that sounds pretty cool
I’ve been thinking of listening to the Yellowface audiobook for a while, so it was so perfect to hear you talk about it! These videos are so fun for me and I love the feeling of watching book videos and then reading. Thank you Haley💖
All of your book recommendations and reviews are the thing that got me into books for the first time. Thank you so much! I can go a hard 3 hours just reading, not picking up my phone because of your videos. Keep it up!❤
The Emily Wilde book is definitely a good read. It may be cozy fantasy only in that it does not spend chapters on world building. Also, the human realm plays an important role. So if you wish to see how both coexist, this is the book for you.
Hey Haley !! If you want to read more fantasy, I highly recommend The City of Brass (Deavabad trilogy). It's overall a great story with engaging characters, politics, wordbuilding and a thrilling plot. I also heard that you like low spice romance and this book very much has it as the love interest is religious and stuff :) I really think you would enjoy it ! Love from France ❤
Loved The Wishing Game and I did enjoy Yellowface too. I was hesitant to read Yellowface thinking it was going to be a complex book, but it wasn’t. The audiobook was fun to listen too as well. Emily Wildes books are on my list too. I haven’t read Cresent city yet…still working on KOA and then I will read the ACOTAR books, so may be awhile for me to read them. 😂 Hope you’re feeling better!
I’ve just started reading books again, stopped when I started working, but now, I’m craving for reading books and thank you for all your recommendations. I’ve bought so much from your list. Thank you ❤
The second Emily Wilde book is even more amazing and has all the charming vibes with good adventure and romance!!! I felt the same way as you about the first, trust me read the second!! Emily and Wendell live in my mind rent-free now
Did you read Howl's moving castle already? It's like a cozy fantasy BUT with high stakes (aka Sophie's curse and the whole Prince gone missing thing) and it's so witty and cute... One of my all time favs
Hi Haley, I love your channel because it is what got me back into reading! I also have a series recommendation for you! It is Middle Grade....But I think it's kind of on the line between YA and Middle Grade. Anyways, it's a Middle Grade fantasy series that's pretty high stakes, has well written characters (imo), pretty fast-paced, and a good, complex plot! Oh, and a little bit of romance lol! The series is called Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger, and it kinda gives Harry Potter vibes in a way. I hope you'll check it out!
I haven't read Yellowface, but a story line you describe reminds me so much of the movie The Words starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Zaldana. Meaning a found manuscript is published under a false author.
Hey Haley! I stumbled across your videos in December and they have honestly helped me get back into reading. If haven’t read “Daisy Darker” by Alice Feeney then I would definitely recommend that one! The audiobook is fantastic!
New subscriber, here. I like your relaxed style, your bravery for going out in the world for impromptu interviews and recording yourself reading (!), and the fact that you don't politicize your reviews. Cancel culture is toxic. Keep it up, girl ❤
I recommend to you The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst. It is a cozy fantasy, with high stakes of death, illegal spells, and secrecy. With a subplot of romance and it is a stand-alone.
Hey haley have you ever read " The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. If you haven't I'd love to see you read it. Its kinda dark and pretty sad but the writing is really good in my opinion.
I loved the wishing game and just reccomended it in my spring reads video ! im glad you liked it as much as i did. I hope to have my videos as entertaining as your vids some day, You are one of the reasons i got the confidence to start a booktube and fell back in love with reading ! xx
You should do a video of reading only indie/self-published books to support indie authors and experience the books traditionally published authors doesn't write
thank you so much Haley you were the one who got me into reading!! And some of my fav books I’ve read because you liked them!! Like batter than the movies and the summer I turned pretty series❤❤
As a cruel prince lover myself, I highly recommend reading The Diabolic trilogy by S.J. Kincaid. It’s like sci-fci cruel prince and I really think you would like it 🫶
Omg yes !!! It's one of my favorite series too ! Book 2 had really haunting, shocking moments. I'm still not over it (also pardon my english, i'm french)
if you haven’t read any mariana zapata , you should give her a try! i feel like her sports romances are pretty unique and the characters are super lovable!
HALEYY oh my god. in 2023 i read 29 books, shockingly. i used to hate reading because of, yk, school.. but thanks to you this year i stepped it up! so far in 2024 i've read 5 books and am rly excited to continue. 🤍
✨Haley, you should continue to read Harry Potter, you'll fall in love, and might be questioning some stuff, but its a excellent 5/5 star read, and after the first two books it gets really really really good, spoiler: you might find urself crying, and laughing in some sceens!!!!! 💖✨
Hey Haley,I'm your new follower and I just LOVED your channel even though I'm a foreigner your videos feels like a sweet home Idk how to explain but I love how cute your attitude is and if I have ti admit one thing about your videos,I actually scared first time watching your videos' ends when I laugh or just turn my eyes to the screen when I suddenly see your ending pose I'm being afraided of every time 😅 but I'm getting used to 😄
Honestly Haley is one of the few booktubers who never makes you feel bored.

It's so funny that haley said she didn't really like cozy fantasy because she sort of embodies that term 😂
I'd say definitely read the second Emily Wilde book, it's a lot more focused on their relationship I think and Emily also seems a lot more confident in herself which is nice to see 🍄❄️

Emily Wildes Encyclopedia of Faeries is DEFINITELY one of my favorites!!!! I recommend it to my 8th grade students. :)
I’ve been wanting to read Emily Wilde forever now I’m so tempted to go to Barnes right now. Ugh I wish all these books were available in paperback
