My husband used to work on printing presses and couldn't wear bandaids - it's an old trick they used to use for cuts, especially those nasty paper cuts. :)
@@DianeBianchi_MnWx this surprised me too how much she cut off. Same here, it was kind of painful to see so much of that broccoli being discarded (although I'm glad Rogue gets a healthy treat!) I usually peel off the tough skin from the very thick stalk then slice it into batons which i throw into a stir fry. Delicious!
Is Speedy warming up to Rogue a bit more? Too funny Rogue's head kept popping in during the beef discussions😂 Dave's comedic timing of laugh/choke when you mentioned some chicken wings that have been in there for 7 mths was golden!
I think taking some shortcuts like the muffin mixes especially when you find them on clearance is great. Even though it probably cost a little more than making from scratch it's definitely much less expensive than stopping and grabbing muffins at the bakery as a quick snack on the fly. I'm all about supermarket shortcuts! Broccoli and asparagus are two of my favorites! I tend to buy frozen broccoli however as it is easier for me. I am disabled from a stroke and only have the use of one arm so having to cut things in the kitchen is a challenge for me. I also take a blood thinner so I really have to be extra careful around sharp objects. I make my broccoli just doing the steam in the bag and my asparagus I put in a shallow baking dish in about an inch or so of water cover it with plastic wrap vent the corner and cook it in the microwave for 2 to 6 minutes depending upon how big the asparagus spears are around. It's delicious and keeps the asparagus nice and tender and also retains its color and does not shrivel up like it does when cooked in the air fryer. I had a sprinkle of salt and pepper and a little bit of garlic powder sometimes as well as a drizzle of olive oil. I buy those sliced frozen strawberries from Sam's Club all the time. I don't use them in smoothies but I do really enjoy them. I want to get a yonanas since I am an ice cream fanatic and I think it might help crush my craving for ice cream. What do you think!?!?

Try repeatedly squeezing the scoop handle and it will "flip " the dough ball or what ever your scooping into a perfect round ball . I use mine to make perfect hushpuppys. Goes very quickly with no mess . May have to shield with the other hand to keep it from jumping out of the scoop.
If I can suggest, in name of saving and avoiding waste, you cna also eat the stem of the broccoli, way more than you cut off . just steam it with the rest.
Can I come over for lunch or dinner? LOL! The food looks like multiple treats in one meal. Yet I was shocked that you appear to be discarding the stalks of the broccoli! No!!! I love those, as well as the stalks inside a head of Savoy cabbage, white cabbage, kale, cauliflower. I like them steamed, boiled, raw.
For the knuckle Crack. Try lotion, let it absorb, layer of Vaseline to seal the moisture in. And maybe a bandaid if your worried about rubbing the Vaseline off.
At bedtime put A&D ointment on cracked skin on hands/fingers and cover with a bandaid. My knuckles crack really bad every winter and this works so well.
For your cracked knuckle try using anti-biotic cream and bandaid overnight...usually it only takes a couple of nights and its healed. I live in Dallas and it is very dry here as well.
For cracked fingers, soak it in as hot of water you can almost stand, I mean HOT, add Epsom salt, and soak, it will draw out any infection, then use O'Keefe lotion or corn husker lotion...my step dad was a cement finisher for 45 years and had cracked hands and fingers all the time, this was the only thing that worked. He always made me do it when my fingers cracked in winter..... remember super hot water, it hurts at first, but will make you heal in no time!! 💗💗
O'Keefe's Working Hands is amazing for cracked hands. Happens to me in the winter, with the dry hot air inside. The texture is like shortening not like a cream or lotion. I scoop out a bit and rub it on top of my hands (not my palms) and let it sink in. If I do that overnight, the difference the next morning is immediately visible.

Little tip, most grocery stores will trim your asparagus for you which will save you some time & money since you pay per pound. The woody part of the stem is usually only about 1-2 inches, you take what you want to buy & bring it to the person working in the produce departmentp, you just hand the asparagus to them & say hey would you mind trimming this for me & they will cut the ends off for you so you don't end up paying for what you can't eat.
