Somebody had a '71 for sale near me that was for sale for $2500.00 in non running condition but looked awesome. It was a woman's ad from the way it was worded, like an estate or something. I did not have the money fast enough, but it took a few days to sell. I couldn't believe it.
@@OctaneElectrons About a month earlier there was a generator shovelhead chopper that needed work but was all there, for $4500.00. I'm not lying. Both these bikes could be with me for the rest of my life had I been saving up my money better.
Both of them within an hours drive from me too. Shit about ten years ago a guy a few houses from me had a yard sale with a right side shift Ironhead that had the "Sportster" script clutch cover on the engine, all there and rolling but not running, AND an old Triumph jockey shift chopper basket case, for a thousand bucks but I just bought my dune buggy a week earlier and spent all my money. Those bikes were in his back yard and I never even knew he had them until his yard sale. I missed that score too.
Sounds great. I have a ’74 that i just bought for $7,900, super clean but bolts missing everywhere. Shake like crazy. Must loctite every bolt, screw and nut. Yours look like it should. Great job!!!

Oh man that would be a steal for $2500. Wish you grabbed it! Any shovel wouldn't last long at all around that price.
