It's nice to have them all in one video rather than having to look for them on the shorts feed! Thanks :)
What's ironic is that Ketchup comes from the Chinese language; It translates to "Tomato-Sauce".
A great way to learn Canto when you have to stress about 4 to 6 other dialects that I can't keep track of. Thanks
this is very helpful i wish there were more resources like this
LMAO!
I speak English and Mandarin but Cantonese is just so beyond me.
Are all of these common? I'm a "white-washed" (in a good way) Canadian-born Chinese, of parentage that is hakka, teochew and with parentage born in malaysia. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if most canto people don't know these (the canto idioms described in english subs) Obviously the "mo gao cho ah" is a staple. Just all the stuff about seeing a snake poop and finding a pee in the poop you're eating haha so lucky! From the Canto films I have watched I don't really recall hearing that stuff. Peace, love and intuition
Haha some are more popular than others, but in my family, we actually use a lot of these pretty often. I'm not 100% sure, but it could also be mainly from Guangdong. Or maybe my family is just more Chinese-redneck/hillbilly than most 🤣
@@jcliang Haha, well I'm 33 years old and have almost always lived in an East Asian/Cantonese ish area of Canada my whole life and a lot of the Canto people are either Hong Kongers or from Guangdong, I suppose I'll defer to your explanation and assume that a lot of these are common haha :)
