I really enjoyed that Marcus. The challenges you gave it were realistic, and when the drone lost you, it was in situations where there was a lot to contend with. I have seen tracking challenges that were far to extreme and totally unrealistic, and I don’t think you learn anything from them. The Mini 4 Pro is clearly an impressive bit of kit

ActiveTrack seems to get better with each drone release. But I still say if you had the option of using GPS tracking to your controller, it would never loose you. I think activetrack was invented so you could follow someone/something besides yourself. Great testing, and thanks for sharing Marcus.

Hi Marcus, a very nice video showing APAS while tracking, thank you for sharing. Tracking was 100% perfect when the drone had line of sight. It would have needed x-ray vision when obscured. IMO if DJI offered the ability to GPS track the controller, the drone would never lose tracking.

i think in few aspects (tracking from behind) its even a smal step back from the mini 3 Pro. The problem is that the obstical avoidance sensors dont see as far as on the Mini 3 Pro because of its Fisheye lenses (18m vs. 25m). You can realy see that it reacts a few meters too late on obsticals and get too close on it. if you are walking thats fine- if you are on a Bike you get problems. Without waypoints i would have not upgraded to the Mini 4 Pro.

That is impressive. I just wish you had explained more about exactly how you are choosing to enter that active track mode, I still cant select it easily without checking you tube to find the process. Wish you had shown that. Great content otherwise. Simon
Try taking it where there are evergreens, where Dustin Dunhill did the same type of test at about the same time (10months ago) you performed this one. The Mini 4 pro did horribly. I was constantly losing the target and crashed at least three times.. two times into trees and once into a power line. Soooo, it's far from "near perfect" like some in these commenters think. Until DJI builds a drone with the same amount and resolution of SkyDio AND uses some sort of beacon...yes, ala SkyDio the obstacle avoidance will be subpar in comparison. We haven't even talked about processing power yet...in this passively-cooled drone.
Can you turn down the beep beep beep sound I currently own the Mini 1 Mini 2 MA2 and air2s really thinking about this one because its so quiet and the 360 obstacle avoidance
For it to track you higher or lower you would need to use the 360 inner and out circle. You can set height for inner and outer circle with other focus track settings that are new. The exact landing works and well but you gotta have your compass calibrated. In fact it out performs my Mavic 3 Pro every time eveyway. My landing is flawless everytime with m4p best yet in experience. Also I think it's a glitch, not recognizing you. I don't think it's the bike. My m4p does that with me if I look at it wrong just with me no bike. I hope you are enjoying your m4p.
a great drone tracking is great,,went on windswept roberts video last night all he did was slag off the air 3 and the mini 4 pro how can you do that if you dont own them he has neither of them lol
I believe this is more a function of Active Track 360 than the actual hardware (mostly) Here is why Action Track 360 has the others beat: You can run it effectively at MUCH LOWER. Flying the drone above or THROUGH the tree canopy presents more issues than it solves. Keep the drone UNDER that csnopy and suddenly all you have to contrnd with is tree trunks and the occasional low branch. This will not be quite so good mid-winter when the sun is low, and bare thin branches await the little Mini 4 - ready to reach out and SWAT IT. Like a bug. But for now... its the Active Track Champion. No time for losers, cause Mini 4's the champion. Of the World. Now sing with me: We Will We Will TRACK YOU. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Didn't you have the other drones up higher? Seems to me like they were about 25' to 30' high. This flight you only have it about seven to eight feet high. Not a fair test in my opinion.
It DOES NOT miss all branches.. Why don't you guys tell the absolute truth.. Jeeeez, I reccomend some of you watch other youtubers videos on this rushed out problem filled drone.. And as negative as I sound.. Find out for yourselves. Leaves are not branches.
No-one uses drones in the real world. I wonder how it would go down flying in the city around the people and cars etc and not just empty or vacant lots ???

No, there would have been a + on the screen. Normally you can simply draw a box, and it will recognize the subject.
