I never, NEVER like faux graining……. but Katie, you’ve become great at the technique and have changed my mind! What a great job at making these into lovely, contemporary pieces. And, while I’m at it, can I just say “THANK YOU” for the easy narration you do. I don’t care how great some content is, if the narration is sing-song or just phoned in….I cannot watch! Thanks for talking to us like a friend or neighbor. Love your work!!! I’m a fan 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I was on board with the lightening up of the color, kind of disappointed you took the metal pieces off because I liked those. When you said you were going to add faux wood grain, I though, "Oh, no! That's going to look so cheap." Boy, was I WRONG! All of your design decisions were spot on. These end tables turned out beautifully. I'm amazed at your vision and talent.
Great idea to remove the metal pieces. I am so impressed at how you can imagine a new look for these outdated pieces and then make the vision come through! Lovely as usual!
Another fabulous flip. When you first mentioned the wood look for the top I thought "oh no, they already look so nice with the wonderful smooth paint finish." But seeing the finished product, I love it. These two tables would be priced for top dollar at places like Ballard Designs--you worked your magic with two dreary thrifted pieces made of MDF at a fraction of the cost. Beautiful transformation. Love the paint color especially!
Amazing! There are actually a couple of these tables sitting at my local Goodwill that I’ve passed on a few times. I’ve been in there. They look a lot like this and you have me inspired! Thanks again Katie for all your hard work.
Oh, how I wish I'd had access to these incredible vids 30 years ago, when I was "rescuing" old furniture for my own home. Your ideas and executions are fabulous -- and a BIG hug of gratitude for telling viewers why and how you do what you do to make the magic happen! Most of us had to learn this art entirely on our own -- with a little help from the guys at the hardware store who may or may not agree with our goals. When I began my adventures in restoration I didn't know what laminate was and literally destroyed what may have been a semi-valuable piece of furniture (still cringing over that disaster). I'm now motivated to redo some of the mistakes I've been living with, and will refinish the pieces in your honor... AND buy needed products using your recommendations!
WOW! 😱 Entirely different style than originally. Not just “updated,” but CREATED! Your “noodling around” to clean out old supplies brought out your Mama Bear Creativity, if I’m allowed to say so! Protect your visionary ideas and continue to grow and teach your impressive skills, please! I’m totally intimidated by “graining tools,” but you dug one out, gave it a good “look-see” and started putting it to work! My dad was a carpenter and built my childhood house around us--he was no fancy guy, but I remember how thrilled he was when he took on the task of making a small book/whatnot wall shelf and mastered the are of Pickled wood painting. I’d not seen it again until recently with all the renovated & reclaimed furniture projects! Gives me a huge smile, on my face & deep in my heart! If they’re interested, please later teach your children…😁🥰
I just rewatched this video. I am just so amazed at how much better these tables are. You sure know how to work magic!!! Love these lighter tables so much!!! ❤
I don't think the metal was ugly but it DID date it. Wow, what a difference. I really love how totally new and fresh they look. Someone will love them in their space.
When you showed us the before I was disappointed because it looked so outdated that I didn't think paint could change that. But wow! It didn't even strike my mind to remove the metal. Looks fantastic now.
Gorgeous! I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you! Working on restoring a 1955 Lane cedar chest that was falling apart and headed to the dumpster, using all of your tips! Total amateur here, but giving it a go!
My favorite center table is one that my grandmother bought in the 60s. She bought it from people who had it on the back porch with potatoes on top of it. Cleaning furniture is a great first step!
I was worried about taking the metal out but it definitely works without it. Love the color you painted them! I would never have thought about the wood grain for the top, but again it works! Very nice!
Good choice is color to bring out all the detailing, the metal took away from that; I would use the metal for plant trailing on some gorgeous planters 🙌🏼🪴
I really appreciate your tips. The tiny amount of white paint really made the details pop and made it so classy! The faux wood top was perfect! Thank You! B~}
you do great work! I often wonder why people who restore furniture don't use a large raised surface such as an 8 x4 ft particle board covered with/ drywall on a couple pairs of sawhorses. boy, I used to do things like you do and it was much nicer having everything up where I could manage & see much easier! more comfort, less work, and so much more energy going along! that wood is heavy! easy on the legs as well! you can quickly lean the complete set-up aside - propped against an interior wall in less than 8 minutes - safe and sound til next time! you have the knack! Cheers and Best to you! 🐦
Okay, so u inspired me to get started. So far I got all the same tools just gotta get my nerves up to actually do some projects... 😆 Nice job Katie 👍🏾. You give the old finds new life.
What a transformation! Your wood graining technique provides a beautiful finish. And with the lighter color that beaded detail pops! Bravo....again !! Love your work ❤
LOVE THIS! Such a simple do-over that most anybody can do at home with some paint and a little time. You're my favorite channel, because you keep the makeovers in the realm of reality for real people at home. Thanks so much for your tutorials. I've watched them all 🙂
A tip to “sell” the faux wood look better. Think about grain direction. A radius is typically cut with a router following the grain not across the grain. Otherwise I think the faux wood technique worked out nice here.
A favorite of all the flips you've done. My taste leans toward your more classic, 'simple' style. You're able to achieve the appearance of 'less is more'... although it usually takes a good number of steps to achieve that. BTW, in your more recent videos, there's less to distinguish between your VO and when live. Previously, it was more obvious, in terms of audio quality and volume, when moving from one to the other. .
Huh! I have a coffee and end table almost exactly like those. Mine are in much better shape than the ones you started with. As always, you make old things new.
I like the subtle effect of the layered neutrals and would love to see more like this. We see a lot of beautiful repair and paint work out here on YT, and we also see some artists who really knock it out of the park with blending and large decoupage effects, but I think we're missing something in between and this is it.
Just beautiful! I have been looking for instructional videos like yours to help me learn the process of painting vintage furniture. I have a few pieces that need revival! I also purchased the retinue it product, but, I’m still shy about starting the process! However, after viewing your video, I may start it soon. Love your work. You definitely gave those pieces a new life! Tfs happy Mother’s Day!
I think the secret to everything is layers, because these just got better and better with each one. (What is that gorgeous blue nail polish you had on? 😍)
What a beautiful transformation. As always, appreciate your thoroughness when sharing your steps. Love that brand of paint, too---and I'm one who has just the scantest of supplies. LOL :)
Your furniture flips prove that this is just as much if not more about artistry than about a process.
I thought I liked the metal. Wow! Your vision to remove made them so much better! Love the beachy look for these.

I live by the ocean..these tables definitely would sell in the high-end stores here. They're perfect for beachhouse.. Beautiful.
These couldn't look more different than the originals. Great job with this flip and I especially love how the tops turned out! Knock out job, Katie!
Katie, you always do such a beautiful job on your pieces. These are just beautiful!!❤️

From looking like the $5 you spent on them to looking like $500 in less than 4½ hours. Very, very nice, Katie!
You have such a good eye for furniture with possibilities. Such a nice vision for each piece.
Love the way they came out! Definitely removing the metal pieces took them to the next level.
I was feeling uneasy about the metal gothic arch but they did make them heavier and harder to fit in any decor. This will fit more easily.
They're nicer than a lot of things you can get at the furniture store. I like yours better
Amazing! There are actually a couple of these tables sitting at my local Goodwill that I’ve passed on a few times. I’ve been in there. They look a lot like this and you have me inspired! Thanks again Katie for all your hard work.

Ohhh Katie, I love what you did with these end tables…you did such a wonderful job on these! 😊
Just lovely. You lift every piece you work on.
I don't think the metal was ugly but it DID date it. Wow, what a difference. I really love how totally new and fresh they look. Someone will love them in their space.
Dry brushing the light color at the end sold it .. what a great modern beachy look on the tables..
I liked the metal pieces, good for keeping items from falling out the side. Like thhe beachy finish.
It's definitely better with the metal gone.i always love seeing your vision for a piece come together. They are very beautiful.
First I thought Ooh No because I love red and dark woods! But the beach’y stile is very lovely too 👍🏻
When you showed us the before I was disappointed because it looked so outdated that I didn't think paint could change that. But wow! It didn't even strike my mind to remove the metal. Looks fantastic now.

Beautiful! I love the way those turned out! Your paint job goes way beyond a 'paint job. That's art.
The faux wood grain on the tops of these tables really came out great! I love the way you were able to update these cute little tables! ❤❤❤
They looked fabulous. I just love them ❤️
The metal was pretty (but it’s really a dust collector). Wow. These tables look so different & spectacular. Luv this vision of yours.
I wasn’t so sure about the beige colour but wow, this turned out so beautifully. Well done.
So beautiful ❤. Love the finished product .
My favorite center table is one that my grandmother bought in the 60s. She bought it from people who had it on the back porch with potatoes on top of it. Cleaning furniture is a great first step!
These are absolutely stunning! I don’t have a beachy feel in my house at all, but I would be willing to design a room around these tables! Great job!
Wow another amazing transformation!
I’m glad you mentioned how much time it took because I feel like you added some special touches to this one. 🌟🌟🌟
I have learned so much from you! Love all your flips!
Turned out so great! Not my favorite color but I know that others will love it. Respect!
I am super impressed with how these end tables turned out!! ❤
WOW!
Those end tables turned out absolutely gorgeous!!!
They are gorgeous! How beautiful!❤️❤️❤️❤️
They are so high end and pretty
Love the transformation. You have inspired me to give this technique of wood grain application a red hot go! 😊
I really appreciate your tips. The tiny amount of white paint really made the details pop and made it so classy! The faux wood top was perfect! Thank You! B~}

I generally dislike painted furniture. But these are super pretty and i love the beachy vibe you created from what was a fairly traditional look.
I wish I could find some nice refinished furniture for my living room like this.
I love using that graining tool. Such a fun way to change up a piece!
Okay, so u inspired me to get started. So far I got all the same tools just gotta get my nerves up to actually do some projects... 😆 Nice job Katie 👍🏾. You give the old finds new life.
Love your work. Hint: if it is a wet/dry vac, you can add water to the tub and the sanding dust will get stuck in it, instead of floating around.
As soon ss you took off the metal grids I could feel the piece breath! Excellent job
What a transformation! Your wood graining technique provides a beautiful finish. And with the lighter color that beaded detail pops! Bravo....again !! Love your work ❤
Your attention to detail is much appreciated! Gorgeous!
I love your "painting" grains - it looks really nice. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀

They look sooo good! Love the new look Katie!! 🥰🥰🥰
They turned out great my friend! Love the updated look.
Ah-mazing! I never thought they would look so good! You are a magician.
A tip to “sell” the faux wood look better. Think about grain direction. A radius is typically cut with a router following the grain not across the grain. Otherwise I think the faux wood technique worked out nice here.
The "wood" tops look great.
and Mrs T What a lovely job on these two loved the colour you choose so well done
They’d be perfect in my cottage
The tables are absolutely gorgeous! I'd buy them.
Those tables look amazing. To buy some like that would be very expensive. I would like some of those in my home!

Good idea to remove the grates. Total transformation.
Huh! I have a coffee and end table almost exactly like those. Mine are in much better shape than the ones you started with. As always, you make old things new.
My favorite paint faux wood finish to date Katie. Very nicely done. Thank you. What a great score..5 $! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Another great look! Love how you have such a vision for the finished product!
Love the colors! Also like your clothes-down to your shoes!😊
You are such a neat painter 🤩😍 I would have product on me, the floor and everywhere in between!!! 🤣
Doing these in 3 days with only 4.5 hours is INSANELY impressive!! I can’t even understand how talented you are!
I like the subtle effect of the layered neutrals and would love to see more like this. YOU HAVE THE BEST VIDEOS ON UA-cam ❤
omg pretty nail color
Beautiful. I gotta get a sprayer!
The antiquing and white wash did the trick. Very nicely done, Katie. Thanks for sharing.
Wow they are absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

Those turned out so beautiful!!
So beautiful 😍 thank you for sharing your skills and inspiring me to start a new project. Watching from Ontario 🇨🇦
Very nice. Good save for cheap tables.
Excellent!! BRAVO!!
Love the way these turned out. I would definitely put these in my house!
Love the faux wood tops
WOW!!! They’re beautiful! I love the colour ❤️
Those metal things, what you removed are very nice, I hope you find a way to salvage those as well in an other project!
I wasn’t sure about removing the metal inserts, but you were right. Love, love love the way you stage your pieces ❤
So modern! They will fit in anyone's home. Great job.
You really coaxed the beauty out of these end tables. Bravo 👏
You've become very good with that faux wood process, that top looked great. Those tables remind me of an empire style, and they look SO high end!
Stunning. You are a true master. 1:20
So beautiful...as always. Loved the process used for the tops.
I think the secret to everything is layers, because these just got better and better with each one.
(What is that gorgeous blue nail polish you had on? 😍)
I love what u did to the tables. U did a wonderful job.
Love this flip! So fresh and clean looking!
What a beautiful transformation. As always, appreciate your thoroughness when sharing your steps. Love that brand of paint, too---and I'm one who has just the scantest of supplies. LOL :)
I liked the metal but the tables came out beautiful!! Great job as usual ❤
