Thank you for the kind word, my friend. Try it (origami), much faster than setting up a tarp in the field and the advantage is that you can do it at home in bad weather and after check outside. Have a nice evening, a hug.

Used the first set-up on this video last camping night and it went awesome...so good in fact that I may never use another configuration for my tarp. I camped on a small island on a frozen lake in central Sweden (air temperture: -5 and very windy with no cover, so it was brutally cold). This set up, open then closed worked so well for me that it became a game-changer.
Thank you Ad Bor for this it has made a big difference to me.

You're welcome. I am always happy when my ideas are useful to someone, that they have practical applications and work. Even more so in difficult conditions. I think that this set up can be well adjusted to the wind to provide good protection against it. It has a fairly low profile, so it shouldn't behave like a sail. Thank's for comment. Greetings from Poland.

It really helps, I take these cards myself out into the field to be able to set up the tarp more easily. I recommend. I believe that it is no less pictorial than showing how to do it. In addition, recording the folding of a tarp takes much more time, which is, after all, valuable and often lacking. Thanks for comment.

These are all great setups for a gentle mist or light rain. I love the nice vertical walls. Unfortunately, the only storms that mom nature gives me are borderline hurricanes so unfortunately all of these shelters in this video would be pummeled instantly in such storm. I love your music and passion🙂👍🏼

    • @adboroutdoor..7662
      @adboroutdoor..7662  2 роки тому +1

You are absolutely right, these are not suggestions for extreme conditions. Much has already been shown a bit so I didn't see the point in repeating it. However, I am afraid that during a hurricane no tarp shelter would be a completely safe solution, since even the houses are not. First of all, I would think about a place that is well sheltered from the wind, and only then I would make a tarp shelter. Fastening to the ground is certainly an important issue. Mountaineers also don't sleep under the tarps ;-) In Poland, sometimes there are strong storms and winds, but the biggest problem is probably now - in warm seasons, because in winter I would not build an open shelter (possibly with a nodia bonfire ..) - hot weather . Do you live anywhere near the Gulf of Mexico? Thanks for comment.

@@adboroutdoor..7662 Hi there sir. Great to hear from you. I WISH I lived near the Gulf of Mexico. No… I live up in New England and we go kayak camping up in Maine on the big Maine lakes. I don’t know if it’s the geography or global warming or what, but the only storms we’ve experienced on those lakes are storms that you just have to put your gear in dry bags and ride it out in the middle of the night. They’re crazy! We usually hammock camp on lakes because of all the tree roots and rocks on the ground that makes tent or tarp camping next to impossible. Which means you’re camping in a tarp. Crazy stuff!! Take care my friend.

@@notquiteultralight1701 I associated the Gulf of Mexico with hurricanes, so I asked about it. I missed it, but in the world scale it is not that far ;-)
New England, I associate - the cradle of America .. Maine, green state, lots of forests, few people, nature. There are less and less forests here, in Poland (the present government is cutting them on an industrial scale), although a few original primeval forests that used to cover most of Europe have been preserved here and we managed to save wisents in them.. for Europe. Unfortunately, the aurochs died out.
These lake trips are probably very enjoyable. I've never slept in a hammock, but you probably get used to it.

So, i tested them all with a 3x4,5m DD Tarp and with cheaper tarpaulins from a hardware store in 3x4m(140g/m2) and with a 4x6m(80g/m2).
With the tarp, i can enlarge the volume by using the additional loops.
And with the large tarpaulin, i got a great tent for three people and a dog.
      Absolutely great. 😁👍
I bought it in brown/grey, to have a good camo in a forrest Floor and a bright look in the inside. Maybe, i spray some camo paint on leaves on the outside, like you hide a sniper rifle.
We made some Tea and Coffee, but in on our tour, we want to cook on a twig stove. Shouldn't be a problem for the most setups.
Thank you again for this Video. The rectangular tarps are so much better for my/our purpose and you gave me the inspiration for some new setups. 👋

@@gaylord.b.cockburn So you had a lot of fun, but also work😉and now also thanks to practice you know that each tarp/tarpaulin size creates different possibilities. Origami makes folding easier. You can probably come up with many more setups yourself. Not only is it fun, it's also useful. If you have a lot of bugs where you camp, you can also think about making a simple mosquito net for the entrance.
With this kind of materials, unfortunately, you have to be more careful when using an open flame, but - as you noticed - with a small (a twig stove) should not be a problem. Gas stoves should be fine too.
I'm glad my ideas inspired you. It's nice when someone appreciates it. So thank you too 🙂.
