Resident Evil 4 features a completely new story and an innovative "over-the-shoulder" third person perspective that replaces the fixed camera system of the previous three Resident Evil games.
Special agent Leon Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the daughter of the U.S. President, from a sinister cult in a remote rural part of Europe. Leon must fight hordes of violent villagers and mutated monsters on his way to save her.
The Mercenaries is an unlockable minigame in Resident Evil 4. It is unlocked by completing the main game regardless of difficulty. The objective is to kill enemies to earn points before the evacuation chopper arrives in the allotted time.
In this run, Ubercapitalist ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/U... ) plays through the Castle level of The Mercenaries game mode using Wesker. He obtains the maximum amount of kills and the highest score using multiple weapons and major amount of luck and spawn manipulation. Because people don't read descriptions, I'll elaborate on what's going on.
The screen switching from inventory to gameplay, as well as some erratic movements are done on purpose to manipulate the random number generator (RNG) to provide specific or better item drops from enemies. It's annoying, yes, but it's something that's needed to get the speedrun to work as intended.
This is a TAS, or Tool-Assisted Speedrun. There are no cheats such as infinite health, or overpowered weapons, but the creators of these work with programs to slow the game down to a frame by frame state, allowing for pinpoint accuracy and item manipulation. This, combined with the ability to rewind frame by frame and the ability to read a debugging screen while all of this is happening creates the magic that is a TAS. Per a technical dictionary definition, yes, a TAS is cheating because the use of the tools given to the creators is creating an unfair advantage, but everything in the game could theoretically happen if you had the reflexes and finger speed of a god. There are a number of TASes that are "console-verified", meaning that the controller inputs that were recorded during the creation of these movies can be injected into a non-modded, non-specialized, plain, run-of-the-mill game console, and they will produce the same results over and over, either in an emulator, or an actual console.
Remember, there is no code manipulation in this game, other than timing, or careful actions. No Game Genie/Game Shark type codes, or altering of code to allow for power-ups is allowed in these kinds of runs. According to the creator's notes, this game took 25,065 rerecords, meaning that a section, or a few frames required tweaking or overhauls. If I had to guess, a good number of those were due to the RNG not cooperating.

That pistol that Wesker uses is actually leon's starting pistol. It doesn't do as much damage as the blacktail or the red9, but it has a 5x headshot multiplier. It's op as hell when fully upgraded

This was such a treat to watch. What little I do know about TAS runs is they are very tedious and take a lot of time and effort. The end result is worth it though, I had a smile on my face the whole time. Thank you for making this
