It's almost impossible to not diagnose early, especially since this is type 2 and the eyes are a telltale sign early on. Added on, it's a dominant genr. The father has it, no doubt. The son was guaranteed to have it

I've seen you talking to him non-stop. With all the help available he will grow to communicate, learn and thrive. I can promise you he will grow up into a strong, beautiful, productive man that you will be sooo proud of. Like my 2 today ! Coop is an adorable 😇 !!!

Thank God for Sign Language! He's gonna be just fine. Just never let him believe, for one second, that he's disabled. There are deaf ballerinas who dance to the rhythm of the music played against the floor. There are many deaf people who thrive in well respected careers. He's a special little man, and he'll grow up to change the world. You'll see ❤️

Being disabled isn't a bad thing. Deaf people ARE disabled, they face accessibility issues every single day of their lives. Being disabled doesn't mean being unable to do anything, it means that we face ableism and accessibility issues. Acknowledging our disability means we can find accessibility measures to have a good quality of life. Advocate for a better treatment of disabled people, not our erasure.

Learning Sign Language is the best thing you could do. It provides him with language stimulation before he receives his CI. I've seen many parents avoid Sign Language for fear of their children not wanting to learn speech but it is (in my opinion) a disservice to the child. My best friend's kids could sign at 6 months old... Obviously not in sentences or very complicated signs or words. But it decreased their frustration because their mom could react immediately and appropriately to whatever they want to communicate (and that was all before their speech mechanism was even functional...ie. before they had the fine control needed to make certain speech sounds). And it fosters a quicker bond because they know that you will readily react to their needs.
Way to go you guys; you're doing good. Keep at it.

You both were given such a gift from God! You will realize that you may be teaching him all about the world, but in fact, he will be teaching you. Teaching you unconditional love, patience, strength, and so much more. Although he may have a few struggles, he is going to overcome them in, maybe different ways then we do, but he sure will! He is the cutest darn little boy I ever seen. And those blue eyes…You truly are blessed. And God chose you both to be his parents. ❤❤❤

I so very rarely see parents showing disabled kids as the beautiful, wonderful, normal varients of human existence that they are.
Different does not mean bad, or worse, or less than, different is what makes us a beautifully diverse species!
As a disabled adult, it warms my heart that cooper is being given so many opportunities, and never being framed as a burden, when so many kids are when they have unexpected needs
Wishing your family all the love and happiness in the world 🫂❤️ Cooper is gonna be a wonderfully loving adult, you can tell by the love from him parents ❤️

Difficult delivery, lost oxygen, diagnosed HIE stage 2, found out he had cataracts at 3/4mths, cataract surgery 1wk shy of his 1st birthday, now wears glasses and currently getting lots of therapy to aid mobility, delayed in meeting milestones BUT overall a VERY HAPPY BABY!!
