- An episode like no other, hear the brave courageous journey of how Chani navigated divorced, the unimaginable of becoming a widow, and ultimately through the clear intervention of Gd, find her soulmate, Scott.
Both from different worlds, Scott shared how he dates over 200 women, the challenges of feeling isolated in a Jewish community, and what dating was like until G-d finally introduced him to Chani at age 44.
In this heartfelt episode, Tzipora Grodko sits down with Chani and Scott Selinger to share a story of resilience, love, and faith. Chani’s journey began when she married at 25, but her first marriage ended in divorce. Soon after, she found her soulmate in Yudi A”H, a love that was tragically cut short when he passed away due to COVID, just two years after their wedding. Heartbroken and grieving, Chani had to rediscover her strength and faith to move forward.
This episode tells the powerful story of how Chani, with a deep love for her late husband, found the courage to rebuild her life. Listen in as she and Scott share how their paths crossed (Chani at age 35, and Scott at age 44) , the role of faith in their relationship, and how they created a new chapter together.
May this episode be lezecher nishmas a very special neshama, Yehuda Aryeh Ben Chaim Tuvia.

I am in awe! Both of you have gone through your journeys with resilience, strength and bravery. I am amazed hope that you have a long and health married life together. Thank you for giving us the honor of hearing your story. Tziporah - another amazing job, you are saving the world!
Wow, I just finished listening to this podcast while I went for my morning walk how inspiring chani u turned your pain into hope and it’s so nice to see you remarried after all that pain. I myself was divorced at a very young age and I took 21 years for me to meet my husband Thank God we are happily married.
Wow! Excellent episode. Chani & Scott were just amazing in how raw & honest they were. May they only know happiness.
This episode moved me to tears , I’m Fascinated by the strength of each of this beautiful couple (I know she didn’t want to hear people tell her how strong she is so I hope this is ok) I truly enjoyed watching and gained so much, thank you!!
I remember learning that Yudi was very sick and then of his petira. My heart just broke for his wife.
Chani and Scott, I am so glad that you found each other and chose to share your respective journeys with the world! It made me so happy to learn that you have found happiness again! Mazal tov!
Scott and chani i feel so incredibly blessed i just got to witness the absolute masterpiece that is each of you individually and as a couple. You truly give voice to so many emotions and experiences many are not ready to own or share. What a gift you both are for sharing yourselves in this way. I truly wish i get to meet you both in person one day you are so likeable and relatable. You shoukd both be so blessed with a long healthy beautiful rest of your lives together. Planet earth is so blessed to have you both here❤
Very very relatable, the raw pain and frustration of being single, of being put in a labeled box, of being looked at as second hand and of feeling lonely, sometimes hopeless, sometimes giving up
So nice to hear of happy endings
May we all see true joy and yeshuos
Such an inspirational couple. They are both articulate and genuine in sharing their struggles with us. Thank you for an amazing interview.
Unbelievable!!! Chani, your journey is so over whelming. To see the strength and tools around you that Hashem gave you, WOW! Every step in life you were working on from single to married. Each time in a new journey. May this new journey last you forever! Scott kol hakavod for investing in your self and a home. As i say if the property doesn't work out. You can always sell and afford the value of a different one. Believe it or not what really spoke to me was Tzipora in her car. She just grabbed the bull by the horns and gave us her best even with out a studio at hand. That is true talent at work. Thank you! All of you. And may Hashem keep on giving you koach. Because we can truly see that he gave all of you the koach and the tools you needed till now. May all of you have a wonderful amazing year. Till next week stay safe and healthy Yitzchak from Jerusalem.
What a great couple. I can feel the pain they felt. I both resonate with getting “bottom of the barrel” suggestions in the past and also it rubs me the wrong way to call it that. We are Am Yisrael- A Kehilla Kedosha, and a nation of priests. How dare we be so repulsed by our own. It is Ahavas Chinam. I am guilty of this too. This goes for the people “in the parsha,” the shadchanim, and the in-betweeners like parents or mentors. There are so many people that gatekeep great matches out there for their own agendas, to make sure they’re “Keeping up with the Steins” or to avoid getting side-eyed by non-friends. I have a friend who is divorced too, and many people will not redt shidduchim for her because of it. She is incredible and will make a great wife to someone someday. And if a single wants a house, they should buy it!
Wow!! Thank you!! What a beautiful inspiring episode with inspiring heartfelt stories! Especially thank you tzipora!!!!! I can listen to your intuitive empathetic conversation-interviews all day! :)))
Thank you for sharing your incredible stories. It is so clear how much you appreciate each other and see the best in one another. Very inspiring.
honest, raw, and authentic, best episode so far by a mile!
Agreed!
Whoa.. I remember seeing her story on Tziporas Instagram and thinking "wow this women is special".. such a crazy story wow. No words and so inspiring ❤ look forward to these stories every Sunday night
Wow you can't make this story up! Amazing and inspiring. Appreciate how open Chani & Scott were. Hashem does work in mysterious ways ❤ May they only know of good things from now until 120 BH 🙏
When someone says they’re angry at G-d they actually are in a place where they know exactly where to direct their anger, rather than at other people who do or say foolish things.
Wishing this beautiful couple years of love and happiness and understanding until they are both 120.
Unbelievable that is all I have to say. WOW! Your story should just be heard by everyone. Your ability to tell your story without holding back all the feeling and emotions involved is truly amazing. Tears for sure shed here but for good!
This is such a beautiful interview with a wonderful and mature couple. You are a fantastic moderator.
Beautiful episode!
I've been divorced and married again - lost him after only 6 years. Though I'm in my 60s now - - interested to try again though very nervous.
Hatzlacha Raba with this very special couple.
Ask me how many times I cried while watching this episode. Wow. This one is really going to stay with me. Thank you so much for sharing
You guys are so strong!💕MAZAL TOV ON YOUR WEDDING🥳 Till 120! Fav podcastttt!!!
This episode of Chani and Scott’s story is so beautiful, may they only see happiness in their lives together forever! Mazel Tov and wishing you loads of מזל וברכות!
Wow wow wow. They are very inspiring and speak truth. Being single due to not being married or divorced or widowed in 30s and 40s is extremely difficult in the Orthodox world. There is hope for us all.
So happy for you both! Wishing you a LONG and beautiful life together filled with simcha and Kol tuv!
Chani and Scott, thank you so much for sharing! YOu should build a beautiful Jewish home! Your comfort level and authenticity were very refreshing! Ty @SOH for presenting this podcast.
Incredible journey and thanks for sharing. It would also been nice to hear how they navigated getting marriage at this stage in life, for example how they navigated settling on a prenup (which every couple should have, but is obviously easier the younger you are)
I know Scott from when we were kids... He is just a great guy with a smile on his face always.
What a beautiful and deep podcast!
I was lucky to have shared many shabbos meals with friends and Yudi in Crown Heights. I remember when you got engaged and married. It brings so much joy to know you have found happiness again... your story imparts hope and strength when it feels impossible to find the true zivug right now. Thank you for helping me continue to hope.
And thank you for your honesty about your struggles with Hashem.
Someone once shared that "Hashem has broad shoulders and can carry the feelings you throw at him. He made them, and made you, and he can take it."
Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and joy together.
Have a great succot !
Thanks for the episode
The stigma is so painfully felt
We must start being more open minded to c ppl for their true selves
Powerful story. Wishing both - but particularly Chani continued strength to get to where they want to go in life.
Amazing story, thanks for sharing 🙏
Fantastic episode ! A lot of genuine takeaways
This is the best episode!! Thank you for sharing your journey!!!
Such an amazing and inspiring story!
Thanks for sharing!
Wow you guys are an inspiration!!! So much to learn from!!
Unreal raw authentic totally inspired by this amazing couple !
I really vibe to Scott!
Amazing story and episode
Such a wonderful love story ❤
You guys are amazing! Mazal Tov!!
You cannot be angry without a connection. The more angry you are, the stronger the connection.
if you are intensely angry at God, it shows you are actually very, very close to Him.
Amazing!!!!! So inspiring!!!!!
What a beautiful and heartwarming inspiring story. I do have to say I was bothered by the part about them admitting that their shabbos observance was spotty. I’m ok with that choice- it’s not my business and I’m not judging - BUT when Scott said that when he came home to an empty apartment on shabbos he “couldn’t just read a book “ and Tzippora said -“of course “ - validating his choice to be mechalel shabbos. It’s not ok to break shabbos because you’re lonely and bored and you’re sending a very dangerous and damaging message. This is presented as a “kosher show “ and you have impressionable teens watching. I’m surprised that Nachi was ok with putting this out there. It’s a huge responsibility. That being said - I’m happy they found each other and wish them only the best.
I disagree. It is important to highlight that no one of us is perfect and our relationship with Hashem can evolve over time.
Chani’s Loss caught my eye, because I promote Jewish Music, & Chani’s ex was best friends with singer Moish W..
Wow the stories get more interesting over time
i feel like frum dating is extremely judgmental - based of superficialities. Is this how Gd wants us to be?
It’s hard to find a good therapist. Can you share the name of your therapist?
Yr a very talented host
i totally agree, shes amazing!
wow❤❤❤❤❤❤wow wow
MCS phone number wasn't in show notes?

Being divorced in haredi community is like you comited a crime. The more religious the community is, the greater the prejudice. Very sad.
It definitely used to be like that. But unfortunately as more people are getting divorced in every community they have learned to change the way they look at things. For example the previous Belzer Rebbe was divorced. His first marriage was VERY toxic. May we be zoche to see everyone open their hearts and minds for every soul that is broken.
