I've been feeding this for years. Sometimes you do get a bad bale, but I've never had any problems taking it back 😊
Yess! I use this too!
It varies in quality and cut.
This time I got really nice green hay, but a lot of it is shorter. Last time I got mostly long hay, but it had more brown/yellow than I would have liked.
I use the pine from Tractor Co, too.
This is what I use. Did not know about the pellets though
Oxbow brand pellets are The best ones. I only went to TSC but the hay, bedding and sweet potato fries. Which were my younger piggies' favorite treat.
I was so relieved when I discovered Standlee hay. Oxbow no longer produces decent hay. I had been buying that for almost 20 years. Then I think they changed owners and the quality of the hay went from best to worst. We get our Standlee at Farm and Fleet. Both Timothy and Orchard Grass. Both are green, fresh, and Angus and Ori love it!
Wow!! I had been wanting to try this because Oxbow is 70 dollars now! I will be getting this one next time now that I know it's Scotty's Animals approved! Thanks so much!
It's usually pretty good ❤
@@TK-kn9es Thank so much for letting me know! I will be trying this next time!
Fr that’s where I get my hay for my 5 piggies! Gotta love Tractor Supply! 🎉
I was gonna get this but needed to know if it was good. So, Yes it is. Thank you friend.
If quality is consistent I would absolutely get it and shipped to me because their store is pretty far away for returning it back
I've been getting it for 3 years and only twice has the quality been below my standard
My husband and I stopped buying this hay. Constantly getting bad hay now.

Thank you for letting me know, my piggies are picky and it’s hard to find Timothy that they like
I’m trying to switch them to orchard grass from my local feed store
Yessss tractor supply is the best place to get Guinea pig and rabbit stuff!!!!
Yes, a great bargain! Wish there was these options in the Netherlands 💖
Yesss I'm looking all over the place for nice green timothy hay... I used to order from haybox in England, but that's not possible anymore😔
I've been doing this for years I've also got bunnies ones a Flemish giant so it saves me a ton!
Thank you
Thank you so much for this info ☺️
we have timothy allergies so Orchard Grass is a necessity for us. if they ever offered Orchard Grass like that I'd be thrilled. otherwise, about $75 per 50lb is about what I have to pay online :/
I remember when I found them and that bale was so amazing of being able to truly spoil my piggies with unlimited hay. Was SOOO cute when I saw my older was a major fan of burrowing and sleeping in a hay hut and I was going to suggest TSC when you said something about going to PetCo for hay but thought you being in CA might've been an issue. Yet definitely worth the shipping cost if you can't otherwise.
But really glad you found them out and hope all your furry potatoes are super happy with getting more hay than they could ever think was possible!
2 Cavy-ats: 1 - Look at the Bale before buying - I got one full of dust and stems of some other plant once, though they exchanged it for me. 2 - these are quite dusty and gave one of my pigs a bit of a runny eye, until I learned to take it outside and shake out handfuls before transferring them to a nice big rubbermaid tub.
Yes I also buy this for my boys!! They love it and it lasts a while. I'm in a situation to where I can't get out alot, and this works great. I divide it into 4 trash bags to keep it fresh. I will spray with a water bottle if it does get dry! So glad to hear this from you!! I Love your channel.. You've taught me so much for caring for my 2 one year old piggies!!
Very good thank you
It's definitely worth it. An easy way to have more than a couple days worth of hay and pellets on hand
Thank you just picked some up!
Good to know! I was going to get this a few weeks ago.
I’ve used these and it makes my hands itch. I got my hands on some broken bales of certified organic timothy mixed hay recently . The girls aren’t too sure about it.
oh man not living in the US is tough
That’s such a good idea!
It would take my 2 years to get through half of it 😂
My local eed store doesn't sell big bags of pelletsl ike that. I'll have to check again tho . It would be nice to get a bag of bulk pellets like that to last longer
I bought them today, they are a little bigger than the pellets I normally get but they dont seem to mind it
We used to get it alot but two months ago was so dry and rotted.
Easy to return but very heavy so pain
Wish had that here. 😢
I'm sure you can get hay by the bale someplace
Good to have emergency options 🌈
Good option and to cheep. In Spain is so expensive, just 1/2 Kg.
I have fed this for years, but the quality does change throughout the year and this year last month was very bad for foxtails. Always check the hay…foxtails are dangerous to all animals, and to piggies. I had eleven hay pokes to my pigs and one death…so always check…
They also have Orchard Grass in 50lb bales! I’ve been wanting to try this but I’ve been afraid because my girls like Oxbow so much. How do your piggies like it? Is it dusty?
I’ll have to ask and see if my local tractor supply has it.
Both times I have bought time it has been very dusty. First bale i got my home dusty shaking it out before giving it to them. 2nd time I opened the bale outside and picked up handfuls of hay, shook them, and put them in a rubemaid tub. Still, worth a little prep time for how much overall you are saving.
@@simplydavemn Thank you! My garage stays pretty cool and dry so I was thinking I’d keep it out there and fill a tub (like you do) to bring inside.
...Hay is so expensive.
Looks bad. I checked 4 feed places in my area, they didn't look that bad but not good enough I'm willing to force feed it to my pets.
