Really needed this thank you. I’ve been debating on moving back home to Chicago from LA and this is the reminder of the quality that I was born in. Can’t beat Chi town when you can have everything affordable and sustainably within distance.
Most definitely. It’s cheaper to rent than pay a mortgage. Taxes are insane. Chicago seems great, I got a job offer! Weighing pros and cons. I like your videos!
I live in Illinois and believe me I freaking hate it!! It all depends where you live. I stay in the suburbs and it’s way nicer then The city. However I can’t lie no matter where you go there is crime everywhere. I would prefer Santa Cruz California any day. I hate the cold 🥶 There is other states out there are way better then both states and more affordable JS🤷🏽♀️
That's unfortunate you live in a place you don't enjoy. California has one of the countries highest unemployment rates resulting in the highest homeless population, it's also has the most polluted air despite all the green legislature, highest income tax rate (by far) and California has a higher rate of violent crime compared to Illinois. Best of luck to you!
Is this a joke? I was born and raised in CA and it is a shitshow, it's unrecognizable from just 20 years ago. I will admit I've only visited Chicago a few times but many of the areas are MUCH worse than CA and some don't even feel like you're in the US
Many of the areas? Like you said you've only been to Chicagoland a few times - some of the top communities in the country are located right here in the Chicago metro. I have families calling me from California every week who cannot wait to leave because of the low quality of living, smog from fires, unaffordable homes and poor public schools.
@@AustinWeiss Excuse me, many of the areas I visited were worse, it didn't feel safe. I'm also taking into account that the company I work for left Chicago. I know several people from that office and none of them had anything good to say about Chicago. You add in the bad press of late and you can see why I thought this was a joke. But I'm sure Chicago has its good areas too and I 100% agree with the CA callers, it's a mess. Good luck with whatever you're doing
Much appreciated, like any city there are areas I never go to as well. Hit me up if you are ever in Chicago and I'd be glad to meet up to show you some of the top areas and suburbs. Best of luck to you!
Bro Skid Row looks so much worse than Chicago’s poorer areas. Not saying crime is better in the latter, but there are WAY worse looking areas I’ve seen in Cali compared to Chicago
This comment is a joke. Native Californian here....I hated it. Born and raised in Orange County and went to university in LA. For me, SoCal was blazing hot, dry brown hillsides, endless traffic, no easy access to cultural sites. I felt enslaved to my car to get anywhere and do anything! I couldn't wait to move to Chicago. Unlike the sprawl of SoCal, Chicago is a real city with beautiful neighborhoods, a fantastic city center, extensive public transit, and a 17 mile lakefront set aside as public parkland.
This was awesome!!! I love California, but totally understand why people would choose chicago instead.

Chicago is a great city! Let me know if I can help you in anyway 🏡
How does the people in Chicago compare to people in LA?
My mental capacity is at building a sky scraper! I love living in Luxary high rises and sky scrapers.
Moving to Wheaton from Los Angeles for work next week! Your page helped me so much on deciding my move. Thank you so much!
We have drinking water here in LA lol
That's great! How much is your monthly water bill?
$0 because I rent, it’s always included in the rent. Most people here do not own their homes
@@christineedwards5921 and do most people rent because buying a home is unaffordable?

Congratulations on the job offer! Let me know if you need anything - livinginchicagoillinois@gmail.com
Go to Wyoming.

What happens when you get shot on a late night out?
That could happen in LA, The Bay, or Chicago.
Leave one hell to live in another hell?
lol 😂 I guess this is for the illegal immigrants?
Actually it's for all the people moving out of California because of all the reasons I mentioned in the video

Lol you shouldn’t move to either
