    I started with Prime in 2013 stayed with them for 2 years OTR as a company driver. IMHO they have the best training for new drivers out of all the big carriers. It is longer then most overall but you will know you are ready when you are finished training and be confident! Keep on Trucking friend!

    Sorry Chuck, I'm watching your videos in reverse but another great video, thank you for putting out this info for people who are going to an orientation for the first time. If I would've known this yrs ago my orientations would've went smoother. Keep up the great work and videos, looking forward to more videos, stay safe out there, stay Blessed and thank you 🙏🙏✌️👍👍

    They make you go to the DOT and do a physical there before you come to prime. I'm waiting on when to go atm. Also luckily I live 3 hours from Springfield, I'll be taking my personal vehicle. And they also require a tanker endorsement no matter what you'll be pulling.

      Another great company to start with is CFI located just up the street in Joplin Mo. Their training time is 1/3 of the time. With Prime you will spend 3-4 months shacked up with a total stranger in an area the size of a closet but CFI its 3-4 weeks. Plus that time with CFI you will not do team driving which means you will learn more. Those 50k tnt miles with Prime you will be nothing but team driving meaning you drive and the trainer sleeps. When he drives you sleep. There is very little training being done. The CFI training is much shorter and more informative. Just something to think about. ✌🏻

    Hello Chuck!!! So glad to see and hear that you are doing well and where life is taking you and your family. Obviously I was a big Corvettes 918 fan and look forward to seeing your progression with Prime and the OTR lifestyle.
    I've known some people in the industry but I know you won't sugar coat things and tell it like it is. I'm a disabled veteran and don't think I'd get past the medical screening. That said, if my wife could get into the business I'd be interested to know if Prime would allow me to ride along with her. Our youngest daughter is graduating high school next week. So, my wife and I have been talking about traveling around the US.
    I've been following Rick and am conflicted on the C8. Living on a fixed income has taken some getting used to. We too are trying to pay off our debt and start living rather than just surviving. When Rick pointed out that the Z06 you had ordered was in but life was preventing you from taking delivery I was devastated for you. While it's just a car to most it's so much more to Corvette owners and enthusiasts. I loved the Black Mamba, the ZR1, and your wife's Grand Sport. While I'll probably have to "settle" for a used C7, I will enjoy seeing what your next Corvette purchase will be and you customizing it. I've subscribed and will head over to IG and give you a follow there as well. Onward and upward, safe travels, and much success!!!

      It’s good to hear from you Jon. I am so glad so many of my 918 fam are coming over for this journey. I am going to give it straight up no surfer coating anything on this journey. I can tell you that if your wife became a driver at Prime you could travel with her. You can have 3 hart Beats in the truck. 2 people and a pet or 1 person and 2 pets. Stay safe brother and as always thank you for your service it is very much appreciated!!

      Finding a company that fits best for you is key as you begin your trucking career and lifestyle change. I was looking for a family oriented company that provided CDL training, the ability to go company or lease. Prime checked all the boxes for me. It’s definitely a life style change from what most of us call normal. As I mentioned in a video. This was about learning something I could do well into my 60’s and 70’s if I choose to work that long. No matter where you live or where you go there is always a job for you in this industry. Enjoy your vacation and good luck as you sir!!

So far I saw that you passed your CDL and then you were on your first load with a trainer, then you were getting ready to head to Prime, then we learned what to take with you to orientation. Really frustrating! I do, however, high expectations of you as you take this new adventure.

    • @TheTulsaTrucker
      @TheTulsaTrucker  5 років тому +6

      Congratulations, all new students as you know are required to come with their permits now. It does help help make Orentation much smoother. You will start Monday morning at 7am. First day will be having a physical, and then finalizing your information on your application and your 10 year work history. Then you will start the CBT’s. I took my Mac and did them all on the first day in my hotel room and then you will have sim lab for 3 days. If you get the CBT’s done fast you will be relaxing the rest of the week. Friday you will have your PSD trainer and getting it started. Know your Pre-Trip before you arrive. I have a playlist if you know it that makes the PSD go by even faster. If you trainer thinks your ready you can test out and get your CDL in a week and the. Get in with TNT phase. Good luck 👍🏻

    • @TheTulsaTrucker
      @TheTulsaTrucker  5 років тому

      Then I would wait until you could bring at least $600. Deliver pizzas for a month something to save up some money. That first 2-3 weeks you won’t make anything while in PSD training. They give you a 200 a week load but you have to pay it all back and you don’t want that. If you have at least 5 years of consistent employment you should be fine. You just can’t show a history of job hopping.
