Windy departure from Leeds-Bradford Airport.
A flight video including the taxi, takeoff, approach and landing of flight LS273 to Alicante-Elche airport in the south-east of Spain. Great RB211 sound on departure from runway 32 at Leeds and great scenes over the Pyrenees before arrival into Alicante.
A great flight on board the 26 year old aircraft. It does not reflect its age on the inside nor outside. For a low-cost airline there was plenty of legroom and comfortable seats. The cockpit is newly retrofitted with brand new LCD displays for the primary flight display and navigational displays. Jet2.com certainly look after their aircraft considering that most of them are not young at all, but they are comfortable and clean. The flight was very smooth although winds were gusting up to 25knts on takeoff so we were thrown around a bit. We took off with fairly reduced thrust (54oC) and CLB2 thrust was used at thrust reduction altitude. Vectors after departure were south towards Manchester, the airport can be seen until we reached our cruising altitude of 35000ft. The arrival took us over Valencia directly towards the approach for runway 10, then finally the right turn towards the east for a fairly smooth landing. We were positioned at a remote stand after landing. Overall views of Jet2.com are very positive, this was the second time flying with them, the first being Geneva but I hope they will keep their 757's for much more time to come as they are an asset to the fleet and also the aviation industry.

Maclee, that was fun to watch, Jet2 looks professional than BA including the menu. That's my first impression could be wrong. Boots meal deal come on Maclee, but their chicken sandwich with black pepper is nice. Remembered Boots meal deal before I started working from home. Back to you, I am looking forward to this trip and may have to leave DJ again for a while. The car looked like something from the early eighties.

i went to alicante last week, stopped at prince park, the landing the way back was very scary. we have a near miss were the right wing would have landed before the wheels, so he went back up and went for a second landing.
Chip Nation a cross wind causes that, pushes the wing in one direction, the pilot knew what he was doing
Do they still operate the A321 or not anymore??? I only ask because I've only seen Jet2 operate the Boeing 757 in a couple months or slightly longer than that, I can't really remember, sorry. Good flight anyways, hope you had fun😁

What engines are on this Pratt ? Or trents sorry to the experts !! I am guessing the buzz sound is just the way the fan blades are positioned and rpm? My drone makes a similar sound depending on prop size
All of Jet2’s 757s are fitted with Rolls-Royce RB211s :)

I have never been on a plane and to say I have built up a fear in my head is an understatement but I have just sent off for our pass ports with the I tention on going next year 2020 with the kids so they don't be like me. However watching this I cried as soon as the plane hut that run way and speed picked up I don't know if I can do it
Clair, nothing to be afraid of honestly, your in more danger driving your car. Jet 2 are also a great company if you are traveling with them, I have just returned from holiday with them again. Take a book with you or download an audiobook time will literally fly by. I prefer a window seat but an aisle seat may be better if your nervous. I hope you book your holiday and go. Taking off is the best bit ( for me anyway) middle bit is boring hence the audiobook. Descending and coming in to land is good if you have a window seat.
I was exactly the same as you, I’m 22 now and went abroad for the first time in July. Flew to Amsterdam from Birmingham (great first flight, only 45 mins in the air) and I absolutely loved it. Booked up to go to Benidorm in Feb!

The 757 is like a beloved family pet. It's a workhorse and these holiday flights are a great use for older but still perfectly fine airframes. GE also makes a high efficiency replacement engine for the RB211 that is popular.
It certainly is a workhorse, but it perfect for these airlines :) PW (PW2037) make replacement engines, not quite sure about GE. The RB211 is a great engine :D
Conor010 Aviation Channel ✈✈ It is if it didn't always sound like its going to explode. I know that sounds silly but the sound at least to me is very unsettling. Maybe the very latest are better like on the A320neo.

Don’t know why people like the sound it sounds horrible to me ..remember first time being on one and hated the sound of the engine
