More than once during this video I referred to this toolbox as “that poor thing” before you went to work on the wear and tear it has gone through in its lifetime. I’m impressed by the transformation of this project, and I’m sure the family appreciated your work. Any tradesperson worthy of the designation would be proud to carry this toolbox.
I actually returned the restored toolbox and the little Buck knife to the son (who lived next door to his parents before they passed away), as I thought they would be better keepsakes for him, than for me. Maybe he will provide some additional information in these comments. I certainly enjoyed looking through all the items in the toolbox, for sure!
Yes, Kennedy Kits model 1018. Not sure of the year (1950's?) but someone might know based on the single Corbin latch and the way the handle connects with metal rings.

Not always sure what's going to be underneath it all...but this one had plenty more life in it.
Definitely an improvement, going to fun to put restored tools in it and use it. Nice job of bringing it back, thanks for sharing, enjoyed watching.
Glad you enjoyed it...thanks for watching.
Looks great
Thanks much for watching!
Beautiful work. Did you ever learn anything about the box's original owner?

Why didn't you sandblast the box
Well, I did all that would fit in my BarrelBlaster starting about 10 mins in...
Looks like a Kennedy toolbox.

Yes, I have one from the 1080’s with the 3 latches. Excellent tool box.
