He had access to his power, that why fat buu can turn people into candy and heal but kid buu can’t. In the manga, I believe super Buu says something along the lines of "I won't be me anymore!" when telling Vegeta not to do it. The original Funi dub has him say "If you remove that pod, I'll lose all that I am!" You've hit the nail on the head, I think. He had intelligence and sapience, and losing the good Buu would cause him to lose all of that.

He was then turned into fat Buu and placed straight back into another egg. After that egg hatched kid Buu came back about 5 days later I believe. He's still a child.
Good Buu and Evil Buu are basically Kami and King Piccolo. King Piccolo is not a form of Kami himself, but Kami's evil that took it's own form while still sharing Kami's essence. The same applies Evil Buu. The only way Evil grey buu can exist is if Majin Buu ever expelled the evil out of his body. So what you say make sense. Evil buu is an offshoot, not a form.
If I'm not mistaken, Kami also isn't the original. I remember the original being referred to as the Nameless Namekian or something like that on the wiki. If I'm right, both Kami and Piccolo are results of Namekian self-fission capabilities providing a body for the original's good and evil. They're both asexual reproductions embodying the either the original's good or the original's evil.

The way I thought of it was: Evil Buu was created _purely_ from Fat Buu's negative emotions. He was conjured up from smoke, and is thus not a "true" Majin Buu form, only taking the form of Buu because of what he represents. When Evil Buu absorbs Fat Buu, he also absorbs the... I guess "Buuness" from him as well - the pink stuff that is shared throughout all the other proper Buu forms. And the combination of the two is once again a form of Majin Buu. If Super Buu _also_ expelled all of his negative emotions through smoke, we could have seen Evil Buu again. But he didn't, and he instead reverted to Kid Buu due to _all_ of his absorptions being removed. So at the end of it all: Kid Buu is Majin Buu's "base form." Evil Buu is Majin Buu's negative energy taking its own shape. Kid Buu _theoretically could_ create Evil Buu if he also released his negative energy. I don't know what would happen to Kid Buu after that, since he is like 99% evil energy, but since he was recently revealed to have traces of God Ki he would still have a good deal of power and autonomy.

Fun Little Fact: Kid Buu was messing around so much that when Moro appeared Uub also know as his reincarnation was able to do significant damage to him with the help of the Grand Supreme Kai. Perhaps the only point we saw a hint of his true power was when he pushed back the Spirit Bomb imbued with energy from the universe.
Kid Buu did not have access to any of the God Ki from the Kai’s back in Dragon Ball Z. Kid Buu, or any version of Buu having access to God ki wasn’t a thing until Dragon Ball Super. You can retroactively imply it, because Dragon Ball Super did, but they specifically said in Z, that the only Kai that gave him any actual power was the east supreme Kai, the really buff one. All the Grand Supreme Kai did was make him docile and dumb.

The real answer is toriyamas editors kept making him come up with new transformations because they didn't like some character designs. There really isn't a way to make it logical other than that
From what I remember Toriyama wrote the Buu Saga without the editor he had for most of the series or without one entirely and that's why it's so convoluted and had multiple different points where it could have ended but didn't (Ultimate Gohan is an example of this).

The way I see Kid Buu is being the most dangerous version means there is no holding back and he wants to see everyone suffer. If he was capable of critical thinking, he would’ve been even more powerful.
There's a line in the original dub that summed this much up. "If you tear those attachments, I won't be "me" anymore!" Everything Super Buu was, ends once fat buu is completely removed.
But, kid buu spits out fat buu because he was preventing Satan from getting hit by kid buu which means that super buu lost everyone that he absorbed except for fat buu and then transformed into kid buu.
Evil buu is a variant of Fat Buu, and the physical form of his evil and hatred. He still has the Kais’ influence inside of him. Kid Buu is the original Buu, devoid of any Kais.
You got Pure Evil Buu who like previously stated is the manifesting of Buus hatred and evil. Then theres Evil Buu (with Gotenks and Gohan absorbsions) and Pure Buu (no absorbtions of Kais or in general hence the name)
So I think the main thing is that evil buu was formed from fat buu and could have some Kai influence even though it’s evil, but Kid buu completely removes the Kai
Fat Buu was the final result of everyone Kid Buu had absorbed over his lifetime, Evil Buu was simply the evil part of Fat Buu that he expelled... But once Kid Buu got rid of Fat Buu, he also got rid of all the people he had absorbed, resulting in him becoming his original, pure form once again.
You seem to be speaking from the fact that Evil buu absorbed Fat buu and became super buu and are wondering why he didnt revert to evil buu after losing fat buu. Lets say Superbuu is what Majin buu the original who you know as kid buu should have been If he had a perfect fusion upon absorbing the Supreme kai. The Fat and Evil buu themselves are Superbuu however they are failed versions to the extremes of Innocence and Evil similar to gotenks fusion failures. This is why Super buu was stronger than both of them. So if Super buu loses that supreme kai influence from fat buu you would expect him to revert to Majin (kid) buu. The anime just made the struggle which they could have put in his mind into an actual fight by having buu use his magic to manifest his 2nd extreme for them to fight it out for content.
Evil Buu is another half of Good Buu; the two of them combined make up Fat Buu (with good on the outside). The two of them combined (with evil on the outside) make up Super Buu. Well, when the cocoon of Good Buu was removed, it literally removed all of the influence that Buu has absorbed up until Buuhan, including Fat Buu AND Super Buu, which results in his original form.

The anime went out of its way to say a couple times that Kid Buu was the strongest. Whereas in the manga, this mistake was never made. So with it never being officially stated otherwise in the anime continuity, people have used this as evidence to support Kid Buu > every. It’s just semantics. We all know Buuhan is the strongest.

I've always seen the split between Evil Buu and Good Buu as more than just the good side vs. the bad side, though in simplest terms that's essentially what it is. The "good" Buu is the embodiment of all the changes to Buu that resulted from his absorption of the South and Grand Supreme Kai, which includes the power of the two. He's not really Majin Buu, he's more an offshoot (as is stated here) that is purely the goodness (but notably, not the intelligence) of those he absorbed, and has taken on the form of Majin Buu. The "evil" Buu is the embodiment of the immeasurable chaos that is the real Majin Buu. He's the closest thing to "Pure" Buu that isn't the original. Somehow, he actually retained the intelligence gained through absorbing the two Kai (likely because he was the majority of the power). Super Buu, to me, is the ultimate evolution of Majin Buu. He's like a Pure (Kid) Buu that has taken the power and the intelligence granted to him by absorbing the two Supreme Kai, and made it part of him. He's Pure Buu with a bit more power and an intellect.
I just took it, like an RPG, Super Buu just allocated his stats and everything he saw inferior into Fat Buu while inside. Fat Buu was like the stat dumpster. But he couldn't outright get rid of him either, else he'd lose his personality.

KidBuu was the best Buu. Argue all you want but he was the best fighting Buu. You can make versions of him physically stronger, or nicer... BUT one thing you can't do is make him more Evil. (NOT EVEN EVIL BUU) or make him a better fighter. His ability to "adapt to techniques and power levels" kept growing the longer he fought. (BECAUSE OF HIS LIMITLESS CHILDISH MIND.) Also, in Kidbuu form he has all of his "ancient memories" of war and techniques, where in any other form they were distant memories not so easily recalled upon because of the other bodies influence inside of him.(AS BUUHAN, he was GOHANS LIMITED FIGHTING KNOWLEDGE MOSTLY.) He also reformed "faster" in Kidbuu form than any other form. As Superbuu, he was just a stronger version of Fatbuu and more Evil. As Piccobuu, he had a Ton of knowledge (Kami's mind) and a little more power than Superbuu, but Goku was the perfect counter to him. (Goku knows all of Piccolo's moves and his SSJ3 was nothing to laugh at, Piccobuu knew this.) As Buutenks, he had a lot more power than Piccobuu, and was fast, but had limited fighting knowledge. This form was badass, but Buu knew this form could be countered if Gohan kept growing in power. (GOHAN KNEW HOW TO BEAT UP THE KIDS.) As Buhhan, he had nearly (GODLIKE) strength but his arrogance made him kind of dumb in combat, and he had limited Knowledge due to Gohan's lack of training and lack of techniques. I feel like it's a good thing Buu never got ahold of Vegeta. Vegetabuu, in my mind would have been "VERY DEADLY" Vegeta trains non-stop, knows amazing techniques, and knows exactly how to fight against Goku and especially the others. Gohan was stronger than Vegeta in this arc, but Vegeta was the smarter fighter. ~ FOOD FOR THOUGHT. KidBuu was the best fighting Buu. Kidbuu was at least stronger than Piccobuu and was getting stronger the longer the fight went on PERIOD. He was also the fastest Buu by the time he had beat down Goku and Vegeta. (THE ONLY VERSION OF BUU THAT KNEW INSTANT TRANSMISSION.) He was the most dangerous as well. Kidbuu was the NIGHTMARE Buu and easily the best version of Buu. Kidbuu was the closest fighter to an actual God with all he could do and his ability to be immortal basically (aside from a Galactic Powered Spirit Bomb.)

Wasn't it originally stated that Kid Buu is the true and original form of the Buus? He then absorbed the South Supreme Kai and became a muscular Hulk like Buu with a major power increase. Then he fought the Grand Supreme Kai and absorbed him to become Fat Buu with a power increase and mind manipulation from the GSK. Evil Buu is just a pure manifestation of the original evil of Kid Buu/OG Buu. He was the dominant form but had none of the special regenerative abilities so he absorbed Fat Buu thus becoming Super Buu. This short actually confused everything.
Yeah, my basic thought was that Evil Buu was basically all the negative emotion of Fat Buu, including the negative emotion that would have come from his victims and even the Grand Supreme Kai, so he still wasn’t just pure Kid Buu. Super Buu was just the negative side gaining dominance over the entirety of Fat Buu, as well, so when the inner Fat Buu was released later, that was actually the representation of all the Grand Supreme Kai’s influence as well as, presumably, the other previous victims’ influences that may have been integrated long ago. That caused nothing but the original Kid Buu to be left.

The way I thought of it was: Evil Buu was created _purely_ from Fat Buu's negative emotions. He was conjured up from smoke, and is thus not a "true" Majin Buu form, only taking the form of Buu because of what he represents.
When Evil Buu absorbs Fat Buu, he also absorbs the... I guess "Buuness" from him as well - the pink stuff that is shared throughout all the other proper Buu forms. And the combination of the two is once again a form of Majin Buu. If Super Buu _also_ expelled all of his negative emotions through smoke, we could have seen Evil Buu again. But he didn't, and he instead reverted to Kid Buu due to _all_ of his absorptions being removed.
So at the end of it all: Kid Buu is Majin Buu's "base form." Evil Buu is Majin Buu's negative energy taking its own shape. Kid Buu _theoretically could_ create Evil Buu if he also released his negative energy. I don't know what would happen to Kid Buu after that, since he is like 99% evil energy, but since he was recently revealed to have traces of God Ki he would still have a good deal of power and autonomy.

Kid Buu did not have access to any of the God Ki from the Kai’s back in Dragon Ball Z. Kid Buu, or any version of Buu having access to God ki wasn’t a thing until Dragon Ball Super. You can retroactively imply it, because Dragon Ball Super did, but they specifically said in Z, that the only Kai that gave him any actual power was the east supreme Kai, the really buff one. All the Grand Supreme Kai did was make him docile and dumb.

to make it even more interesting: even though kid buu was supposed to be the pure, original buu with all else purged, he actually contained grand supreme kai's (and possibly southern supreme kai) god ki. this is shown in the moro arc of the DBS manga. fat buu is able to access grand supreme kai's personality & appearance, but his god ki was passed down to uub through kid buu
The real answer is toriyamas editors kept making him come up with new transformations because they didn't like some character designs. There really isn't a way to make it logical other than that
From what I remember Toriyama wrote the Buu Saga without the editor he had for most of the series or without one entirely and that's why it's so convoluted and had multiple different points where it could have ended but didn't (Ultimate Gohan is an example of this).

Fat Buu was the final result of everyone Kid Buu had absorbed over his lifetime, Evil Buu was simply the evil part of Fat Buu that he expelled... But once Kid Buu got rid of Fat Buu, he also got rid of all the people he had absorbed, resulting in him becoming his original, pure form once again.
You seem to be speaking from the fact that Evil buu absorbed Fat buu and became super buu and are wondering why he didnt revert to evil buu after losing fat buu.
Lets say Superbuu is what Majin buu the original who you know as kid buu should have been If he had a perfect fusion upon absorbing the Supreme kai. The Fat and Evil buu themselves are Superbuu however they are failed versions to the extremes of Innocence and Evil similar to gotenks fusion failures. This is why Super buu was stronger than both of them. So if Super buu loses that supreme kai influence from fat buu you would expect him to revert to Majin (kid) buu.
The anime just made the struggle which they could have put in his mind into an actual fight by having buu use his magic to manifest his 2nd extreme for them to fight it out for content.
Evil Buu is another half of Good Buu; the two of them combined make up Fat Buu (with good on the outside). The two of them combined (with evil on the outside) make up Super Buu. Well, when the cocoon of Good Buu was removed, it literally removed all of the influence that Buu has absorbed up until Buuhan, including Fat Buu AND Super Buu, which results in his original form.

The anime went out of its way to say a couple times that Kid Buu was the strongest. Whereas in the manga, this mistake was never made. So with it never being officially stated otherwise in the anime continuity, people have used this as evidence to support Kid Buu > every. It’s just semantics. We all know Buuhan is the strongest.

I've always seen the split between Evil Buu and Good Buu as more than just the good side vs. the bad side, though in simplest terms that's essentially what it is.
The "good" Buu is the embodiment of all the changes to Buu that resulted from his absorption of the South and Grand Supreme Kai, which includes the power of the two. He's not really Majin Buu, he's more an offshoot (as is stated here) that is purely the goodness (but notably, not the intelligence) of those he absorbed, and has taken on the form of Majin Buu.
The "evil" Buu is the embodiment of the immeasurable chaos that is the real Majin Buu. He's the closest thing to "Pure" Buu that isn't the original. Somehow, he actually retained the intelligence gained through absorbing the two Kai (likely because he was the majority of the power).
Super Buu, to me, is the ultimate evolution of Majin Buu. He's like a Pure (Kid) Buu that has taken the power and the intelligence granted to him by absorbing the two Supreme Kai, and made it part of him. He's Pure Buu with a bit more power and an intellect.
I just took it, like an RPG, Super Buu just allocated his stats and everything he saw inferior into Fat Buu while inside.
Fat Buu was like the stat dumpster.
But he couldn't outright get rid of him either, else he'd lose his personality.

KidBuu was the best Buu. Argue all you want but he was the best fighting Buu. You can make versions of him physically stronger, or nicer... BUT one thing you can't do is make him more Evil. (NOT EVEN EVIL BUU) or make him a better fighter. His ability to "adapt to techniques and power levels" kept growing the longer he fought. (BECAUSE OF HIS LIMITLESS CHILDISH MIND.) Also, in Kidbuu form he has all of his "ancient memories" of war and techniques, where in any other form they were distant memories not so easily recalled upon because of the other bodies influence inside of him.(AS BUUHAN, he was GOHANS LIMITED FIGHTING KNOWLEDGE MOSTLY.) He also reformed "faster" in Kidbuu form than any other form.
As Superbuu, he was just a stronger version of Fatbuu and more Evil.
As Piccobuu, he had a Ton of knowledge (Kami's mind) and a little more power than Superbuu, but Goku was the perfect counter to him. (Goku knows all of Piccolo's moves and his SSJ3 was nothing to laugh at, Piccobuu knew this.)
As Buutenks, he had a lot more power than Piccobuu, and was fast, but had limited fighting knowledge. This form was badass, but Buu knew this form could be countered if Gohan kept growing in power. (GOHAN KNEW HOW TO BEAT UP THE KIDS.)
As Buhhan, he had nearly (GODLIKE) strength but his arrogance made him kind of dumb in combat, and he had limited Knowledge due to Gohan's lack of training and lack of techniques.
I feel like it's a good thing Buu never got ahold of Vegeta. Vegetabuu, in my mind would have been "VERY DEADLY" Vegeta trains non-stop, knows amazing techniques, and knows exactly how to fight against Goku and especially the others. Gohan was stronger than Vegeta in this arc, but Vegeta was the smarter fighter. ~ FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
KidBuu was the best fighting Buu. Kidbuu was at least stronger than Piccobuu and was getting stronger the longer the fight went on PERIOD. He was also the fastest Buu by the time he had beat down Goku and Vegeta. (THE ONLY VERSION OF BUU THAT KNEW INSTANT TRANSMISSION.) He was the most dangerous as well. Kidbuu was the NIGHTMARE Buu and easily the best version of Buu. Kidbuu was the closest fighter to an actual God with all he could do and his ability to be immortal basically (aside from a Galactic Powered Spirit Bomb.)
Kid buu is only above Majin buu fat/close to Evil BUU (grey) i will say he would’ve beat super buu over his dumbness. I think kid buu is pure dangerous dawg he would def stomp, but we don’t know for sure since they haven’t fought, buucclo could with His intelligence bear him since piccolo has great knowledge/experience. you’re right about buuhan having god like power, not even goku could stop him by himself they needed fusion, goku was able to handle kid buu and defeat him but sadly let the fight drag on

Wasn't it originally stated that Kid Buu is the true and original form of the Buus? He then absorbed the South Supreme Kai and became a muscular Hulk like Buu with a major power increase. Then he fought the Grand Supreme Kai and absorbed him to become Fat Buu with a power increase and mind manipulation from the GSK. Evil Buu is just a pure manifestation of the original evil of Kid Buu/OG Buu. He was the dominant form but had none of the special regenerative abilities so he absorbed Fat Buu thus becoming Super Buu. This short actually confused everything.

Yeah, my basic thought was that Evil Buu was basically all the negative emotion of Fat Buu, including the negative emotion that would have come from his victims and even the Grand Supreme Kai, so he still wasn’t just pure Kid Buu. Super Buu was just the negative side gaining dominance over the entirety of Fat Buu, as well, so when the inner Fat Buu was released later, that was actually the representation of all the Grand Supreme Kai’s influence as well as, presumably, the other previous victims’ influences that may have been integrated long ago. That caused nothing but the original Kid Buu to be left.
