We made a Llangollen canal boat trip years ago, took two weeks of just going slow. Walks on the canal paths, visiting other boaters, historic sites. Of all our travels it was the most relaxing ever. My wife settled in, we would stop at small villages for supplies, classic pubs for a brew. Always wanted to go back but never made it, but we have found memories. Thanks for your videos. BC Canada
Thank you for the kind words about Scarlet Lady 💃💃 Connor has always done a great job in helping me out when ive had to dash off for work. Ps also love Readly!
Lovely video today David 😊, Seems like Connor really does know how lucky he is to have such a great job. No desks, and plenty of beautiful sights and sounds. 😁
@@CruisingTheCut You’re welcome, and there’s no shame in advertising. That’s the name of the game on here. If advertising someone’s product you believe in helps the channel and helps you then I’m fairly sure you have most everyone’s support.
@@Halfstep2024I can also vouch for the Readly product. It’s a great way of reading magazines, especially the ones you might not otherwise purchase. You are also able to share your subscription with four other people.
@@CruisingTheCutWe could easily tell how passionate you were about the product, you did an absolutely great job. Sponsor spots can be rather enjoyable when the creator genuinely likes the product, it feels less like mere corpo approved talking points and more like a friend telling you about this wonderful thing he found. :) If you do more sponsor spots like that then I'm sure nobody will have a problem with it and you can rest easy knowing that you haven't alienated your fans, if somebody somehow does have a problem then he or she can just skip it.
Fascinating. It reminded me of when I used to do trade plating. Hitching to pick up a vehicle, driving it to a delivery point, and hitching back home. It's nice to see a young man loving his job. Thanks for the vid. ilona
I was worried, when you sold your boat, that you'd soon run out of topics & your channel would fade away... However, you seem to be going from strength to strength... I'm amazed at each new topic! This was one of my favourite vlogs & reminds me of my cousin who used to make his living delivering yachts around the Mediterranean
All these years on and I’m still enthralled as ever with both the channel and unique gem that is the Canal system! In every video, virtually without fail, there is something that makes me smile or makes me wish I could find that pace of life for myself and my loved ones. The world needs slowing and appreciating these days. All the best to the good gentleman moving boats and to your future endeavors! I will, as always, hoist a cold one when I finally slow down for the day!
These type of ads, were the presenter is genuinely interested in it, are so much better than the scripted ones, hope more ads like this will come and help the channel to thrive. Another great video, thank you David and Cheerio!
All your back stories make for interesting videos. I have been following you from almost the very beginning and you never disappoint. Thanks for taking us along.
If I was to ever go to England, I'd definitely have to go down a canal on a narrowboat. It seems you meet the most polite people the country has to offer. Probably hit as many pubs along the way as humanly possible. Lol
Beautiful boat, Connor seems very good. It was a brilliant vlog as always from you. I must get a pad so I can get the magazine's thank you so much . Take care Blessings to you XXX
Ah! you have discovered the "simple joy of being a passenger on someone else's narrowboat" David. I suppose I should not be surprised but I am as you have previously provided the virtual version of this delight to the likes of me over the last few years.
That was a great video David. You explain things so everyone understands. What a nice young lad to shift boats. He has great enterprise. Regards from New Zealand.
Another lovely vlog! Narrowboat mover would be an enjoyable line of work. Glad to hear Connor has lots of jobs on the go, too. Fun to see you dipping your toe into the world of sponsored content.
Blimey, that’s literally at the end of my garden and Lyon’s is over the road. Would have been lovely to say hello. Oh well. Great video. Great idea by Connor.
The way you present the “ad” doesn’t make it seem like an advertisement. For example, when you do the fireside chat showing us all of the things that narrowboaters have for sale or items that you have found unique that we might like as well. Your journalistic background served us very well for this video. Thank you for taking us along
David, that was such a super vlog. You never fail to surprise me with all the different aspects of canal boating you bring to us and allow us to share. Isn’t Connor a grand chap.
If I had a Narrowboat, Connor is someone I'd definitely have in my list of contacts. Indispensible piece of info. Fascinating aspect of canaling, all those boats in the shipyard. Thanks David. Great little video.
Great video..this is a keeper..please do more of this kind of boat supporting industry ..vary nicely done..I think people would love this . and we still get boating adventures
That was a nice episode about a profession I'd never imagine existed. Even tho we have crews here in the U.S. who move yacths and other boats from cities and states to other cities and states or between other points professionally. That particular narrow boat I'd love to own and live in in the Florida Keys. A lovely boat to spend a nice sunny south Florida day at a sand bar party.
I like these videos absolutely the most. My first video of yours was Coalfinger, and this feels like a cozy reminder and followup in the same vein. Thanks!
@@CruisingTheCut I watched the 4 seasons on Netflix twice. I enjoy the show and it is a perfect way to end my day! So happy to have found you on UA-cam.

Gosh, David, you just might be the world's top salesman, that pitch for Ready was over the top good. Awesome subject for the post, the lad moving boats for a living. Another brush stroke on the canvas old chap, very well done. Cheers.
I enjoyed this video immensely David well presented as yours are always the ad was good but Connor has a lovely job well done to him for thinking of it
Excellent video. Connor does a great job. Fabulous kind of work in the fresh air and scenery. Thank you David for another most enjoyable cruise and documentary.

That sure is one very nice looking boat, and it was good to see you enjoying it in such a relaxing style. I can well see you employing such staff as Colin to "cruise you around the cut" on your new glamorous super vessel when you come up lucky on the lottery. I hope it is soon. Many thanks. David in Dudley.
This was a wonderful video, thank you for making it. Your delivery was spot on, you gave neither too little or too much information _(though I'd personally like to know more about the power and engine configuration,)_ your tone was very calming and relaxing, the camerawork and editing were flawless, and you succinctly conveyed everything I wished to know about that man's work. Again, a great video with exceedingly little I'd chsnge or add. I look forward to seeing more of your videos, that's why I just subscribed. 😁
What a great job. I wonder what sort of insurance/s he has in case of any mishaps? What an enterprising young man to come up with the idea of moving other peoples boats. Thanks for telling us all about it.
You are the perfect person to produce stories like this. Professionally trained presenter and very knowledgeable about the subject. 👍
Thank you
Reverse layout - much better access to tea and sandwiches for the skipper...lol
also wont track any dirt stuck to your shoes through your sleeping area.
I met him last year at Hatton Locks - top man!
A wholly pleasant young man, a beautiful boat and another chugging down the waterways - yes, it's a jolly vid from David. Lovely!
One of those things you probably never think about-moving boats. Connor is a professional, and someone who I feel I'd trust with a boat (if I had one)
