I got a 2018 in December. It has less than 7k miles on it and has been back twice for dropping to limp mode from a knock sensor code. That's once before they changed the sensor and once after. The car can't handle rpm load when passing or merging onto the highway. Both times the car dropped to 40mph almost immediately, almost causing pileups. DO NOT BUY A THETA II EQUIPED HYUNDAI OR KIA.

This was a great direction for the Kona- inside and out. Although the specs are very similar now between the Kona and Seltos, the Kona is still less roomy than the Seltos. In addition to that, the Seltos has much more cargo area. All things considered, it still makes more sense to go for the KIA Seltos over the Hyundai Kona.

My OEM P7's lasted me legit 21k km before they were all bald and I had done 3 rotations at that time to ensure equal wear. Get DWS 06+'s and never look back, best tires ever. (even works in winter) I'm going to tune mine to N75 stage 2, these internals are quite robust so all you need are spark plugs and a performance filter (K&N sells a drop in for our vehicle)

I'm not sure I really understand the the issue is with the shifter. It seems fairly logical that you'd twist it with your thumb going forwards to go into drive. Once you've got that figured out, it's hard to go wrong with it. A car with flappy paddles for gears doesn't need anything other than P-R-D-N, so having a separate action for each (except Neutral, which you hardly ever need) makes sense.
I'm just basing this on my experience with the Mercedes shifter stalk, which is much quicker and easier to use than any other I've tried. The only disadvantage of the Merc system is that they have to cram the wiper controls onto the indicator stalk. It seems like the Hyundai approach solves that problem.

    • @Skyhawk1998

What is the purpose of these tiny suvs.... you make cars small for efficiency but they are never efficient cause they throw large low profile wheels and tires on it and lift them. You can get a prius/civic, corolla, gti hatches that are just as practical and all get better mileage. Why not just make, idk hatchback or wagon versions of your midsize vehicles like the accord, camry, sonata ect and get better efficiency than their suv alternative?

    • @TheStraightPipes

Because people buy SUVs and companies like money. If consumers bought wagons and hatchbacks we’d have more of those instead, but they don’t

@@TheStraightPipes It's a catch 22. I would have bought an AWD hatchback Elantra if they offered it. I got a 2019 Kona 1.6T w/AWD instead, because that's the only option that was close enough.

Efficient hatchback wagon are still sold and more more popular in EU and the rest of the world.
Americans like "big" tall inefficient vehicles. Trucks, SUVs, crossovers all I see in Canada now.

Looks pretty good. I'm interested in the electric one and would like to hear about the sound system. Everyone says the sound system in the Ioniq 5 is mediocre at best.

Wow, it didn’t raise that much in US. 23- 27,850 24- 30,650 ($2800 increase). We only get 1 N line in US. Top trim (Ultimate) comes with cladding, 1.6T starts at 31,650. Both comes either front or AWD.
