    This is a really helpful video Emma. Thank you so much 😊 I never know how to price my art - I always seem to under sell myself and it's caused me a lot of problems so this video will really come in handy 😊

      Glad you found it useful Amy. I'd love to see all artists ask for and get what they deserve. Keep pushing your prices to where you want them and stand by them. Good luck :-)

      Great idea! In time I'll definitely try and cover more things like that. I would have liked some of that info upfront when starting out :-)

    Do you make prints? How much do you charge for those? How many prints do you make per piece?

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  5 років тому

      Hi Karen, yes I do a limited edition of prints at www.emmacolbertart.com/product-category/limited-edition-prints/. They are limited to 50 per size and there are 3 sizes.

    Emma, I know you love animals, especially dogs. I have seen in this video that you also paint urban landscapes. Please, could you teach me how to paint an English, French, Spanish or Italian village. Thank you. Greetings.

      Hi Julio, that is definitely something I will make tutorials on. I'm living in a very pretty Spanish small town. I intend to paint it!

    Before pricing a piece of art work, I'd be interested to know how to determine if your work is worth selling. Often we are our own most severe critics and may decide - wrongly or rightly - that this particular piece of work is worthess and nobody would want to buy it

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  2 роки тому +1

      I would say that it's good to be a harsh critique to yourself, but at the same time, sometimes you paint something you don't like that sells unexpectedly to someone who loves it. I judge it by whether I'm happy for that painting to exist out there, and then stay true to my pricing system. If someone wants it, they'll pay for it. If not, no harm done in trying.

    If you’re super detailed or super abstract, doing super large or super small paintings, these prices won’t seem right at all. If it takes you 6mos or even far longer steady to do a 2’x3’, you can’t charge the same price if it takes you 15 mins to do a painting of the same size just because it’s the same size.
