I tolerate as I cringe when being referred to as Hispanic or Latino- I refer to myself as Mexican to include Nahuas/ Mexica (indigenous) and Mestizo - Thanks to Dr. Carr for providing the African ways of knowing as a source to decolonize my spirit and revivifying my ancestral legacy- Viva la vida!

The "We can win" statement made by Dr. Carr is absolutely true. And we must all realize that the winning is never ending. For our enemy will never give up; therefore we must remain forever vigilant. We continue to presss and establish new strategies to defeat the beast (some strategies we announce, others we do not). This is when we 'say less' and operate word of mouth (understanding clearly that ALL technology can be and is very likely being compromised by the oppressors).
    One love fam.

Thank you for Episode 136 of "In Class With Carr" Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
Love Dr. Carr's clear breakdown of the difference between race and ethnicity!!
As for me, I keep my identity simple: I'm Black and I'm proud!!
Meanwhile, may our ancestor, Ethel Minor, Rest Easy in Eternal Peace and Power!!
This sister bent her shoulders very low for us to stand tall as a people!!
It is a joy listening and learning from you both!!
Stay safe and healing blessings are being sent for Dr. Carr to get well soon!!

Yes. This is what makes this class podcast different. It is about our history and the importance of joining with other peoples with similar issues in common. Class does not isolate and or discriminate. I am African Caribbean and class embraces all of our peoples. Much appreciated Professors Carr and Hunter. Respect!!!

It is only correct the the peole who were colonize and brutalized by European wealth seekers should come together to restore the culture, history, pride and wealth of their homelands .
We have many common goals, and concerns.
      Unity is powerful.

Hotep Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr. Asante sana for this excellent discussion.
Dr. Carr cracked me up with, "The darker the skin, the louder the Spanish." Growing up in NYC in the '60s, we witnessed this and discussed it. "We" consisted of some family members and some friends. We thought it tragic and sometimes funny.

Being a person with beautiful colored skin is truly a Blessing!! I Love being " Black" and really do not understand why folks are so against our beautiful shades of skin!! When the sun hits our dark or light skin, it glows soo wonderfully! Our "Black" men are soo handsome to me and our ladies are the most beautiful in the world. Oh, I can go on and on! Governance structure here all the way from the very beginning of my existence. Never wanted to be anything else! First of all you have to Love yourself based on who you are and not how others view you. Let others believe what they believe. Love yourself and you will Love others!

"What is the equivalent of us feeding people salt"? Thank you Prof. Karen Hunter and Dr.Carr- once again. I had to pause and contemplate that question. In my view the "salt" we are being fed is strongly connected with our swallowing the idea of the legitimacy of land and property ownership by the invading /occupying forces which came to this continent and unjustly appropriated it unto themselves. The thirst is compelled by having "rent" to pay, or having to obtain credit or take loans just in order to exist on any space on the game board. "Buying back" your own freedom (as if that were truly possible) in order to do what? In order to realize that all you really thirst for is a place which you can permanently call your home. RENT is the most inhumane and most potent variety of the "salt pill".

Dr. Carr, thank you for again mentioning Mama Muriel Feelings. 1:56:42-1:56:45 You'd mentioned her & her former husband Mr. Tom Feelings in the past. In fact, much of what you say of Mother Ethel Minor puts me in mind of her. A great soul whose energy was on love of us, education, travel, unity & doing it without a spotlight. I begged her to write a memoir.

We have to understand that we're not a color the lighter the skin the less melon the person have the darker the skin the more melon one has. This is why we as black people come in many shades. The melon it's in the earth it's in the plants. This is how the ancestors understood the Creator through his creation's. Nature 🌍

I agree with the idea of everyone in the diaspara claiming and identifying as black. However, I don't think everyone thinks it's advantageous to do so. They are reluctant to identify with those who are on the bottom tier of society; therefore we have, Black Hispanic, Nigerian American, Black Dominican etc. Yes, we are all going to end up drinking the same dirty water, but getting everyone to be "black" will be a tough sell.
