    Evil is the force that believes that it's knowledge is complete.
    And that it can do without the transcendent. And as soon as it makes that claim, it instantly exists in a place that is indistinguishable from hell, and it could get out by merely by admitting it's error, and it will never do that. - Mr. Peterson this is so good. So much relatable from what I've taught in Islamic theology.

      I was thinking the other day, if I was Shaitan. And I prayed all my life and dedicated all my life to the supreme, then all of a sudden this less capable creature comes out of nowhere and becomes the divines favorite creation, I’d be pretty pissed myself. Is there is no equality ? No justice ? Has the divine gone mad on discrediting all of my work that the divine makes me less valuable than a completely new creation that may have no merits or value in itself ? Why can’t the divine be more understanding and empathetic ? Has the divine neglected my existence ?

    *Are you good, bad, or evil?*
    Good = pro-good
    A good person will choose the good whether it benefits them or not
    Bad = bad when benefited, but good if also benefited
    A bad person will choose the bad if it benefits them, but will often choose the good instead, if it is also of benefit
    Evil = anti-good
    An evil person will choose the bad whether it benefits them or not, so as to go AGAINST the good
    *There's an old lady with a purse in a dark alley*
    -The good person, who has no money, will leave her alone and go on being broke
    -The bad person will rob her if he has no money, but will leave her alone if he does
    -The evil person will kill her and steal her money and her jewelry, even if he already had enough money. Just because...
    (An extreme example, but the concept still applies to most scenarios)

    Evil is quite simple : *It is the desire for ill will or negative effects to be inflicted upon another entity that has never had any ill will or applied negative effects upon yourself or upon another entity, within your knowledge.* (it's not that difficult, there is no grey area, and no slippery slope as many claim. It is black and white and your instincts let you know even when you are a child, through shame, guilt, remorse or at very least, the understanding that you must hide the truth)

      @@dull_christian Hmmm, thanks for your perspective. I never considered active evil vs apathetic evil.....Now that I have I still don't agree. I think the latter is just having no conscience/guilt.
      I like that saying, "evil flourishes when good men fail to act".
      But your definition suggest the saying should be more like "anyone who fails to act is evil".
      You are also saying that vengeance, retribution, payback or punishment is evil; it is definitely not. It is a reaction or a response, and without such, the perpetrators will likely continue to repeat their nefarious, harmful, bad or evil acts, so it is ones duty. Injustice/systems of legal/contractual ensnarement and loopholes are designed to prevent this and also profit for it, providing loopholes for evil to go unpunished and the reactionaries to be ensnared and punished (if it suits the system)
      As much as I kind of like the idea that anyone who fails to act is also evil, (as I detest pathetically overly fearful people, apathetic/lazy and selfish to the core folk) I just don't see it as what evil truely is. Its not just what I wrote originally, but it comes with intent.
      However, it does fit another belief I hafe that the stupid and apathetic unwittingly play the role as "evil facilitators" as evil will always recruit them, since true evil wants to corruot and control, and dummies or the lazy will let them.

    I believe evil=separateness=selfishness where good=unity=love. When we see people as "others" we are capable of horrible things. When we see each other as being just like us, we care about how their wellbeing and how we treat them. I believe the ego is a mechanism to balance altruistic self sacrifice. If we really valued others equal to ourselves we would struggle to progress, we'd end up sacrificing ourselves at every opportunity to aid others. And perhaps that's where our concept of God came from, trying to understand a biological mechanism that could empower us with so much love that we would do so.
    In my meditative experience, the ego is the devil, full of lies and excuses and prioritizing the "self" over even reality itself. The dissolution of the ego (in moments of strong meditation) leaves only truth, accountability/responsibility, peace and love (God).

    A "good" general marches thousands of troops against his opponent, knowing that many will die.
    An "evil" general marches thousands of troops against his opponent, knowing that many will die.
    In each case, the observed behavior is the same. The difference, then, is not the observed behavior. It must, then, be the motivations that drive the behavior. Maybe, in this case, the "good" is determined by the fact that he only orders his troops into battle because the alternative is even worse. Maybe, in this case, the "evil" is defined by being the aggressor by choice.
    This, then, makes the waters very muddy. If you believe that your motives are worthwhile, then being the aggressor would seem to be justified. Take, for instance, the objective goal of freeing an enslaved people from their oppressors. Wouldn't it be justified to wage war to free an oppressed people? But who decides what level of oppression justifies war? Who decides what level of war can be justified?
    The real world is messy and muddy, and no trite philosophical analysis changes that.

    Jesus is indeed Lucifer the Morning Star, which is why Isaiah 14:12 lists Lucifer as the Morning Star and then Jesus calls himself the Morning Star in Rev 22:16. The reason Christians fail to see the obvious is because they are brainwashed by their churches into reading the Bible BACKWARDS and reading the New Testament BEFORE the Old Testament. We read books from FRONT TO BACK for a reason, and that is because you can't possibly understand the end of a book that you don't understand the beginning of. And it is not even possible to fully understand a book from reading the LAST QUARTER of it. With that being said...----> Adam and Eve were NOT first, and the 2 stories of Creation in Genesis are NOT about the same Creation as the Christian church teaches. GOD makes people on the 6th day of Creation in Genesis 1:26. Then in Genesis chapter 2 God rests, God sanctifies the 7th day, and then the LORD God of Israel creates Adam and Eve on the 7th day of Creation. To work on the 7th day that God has blessed and sanctified is BLASPHEMY, which is what makes the LORD God SATAN the LORD of this world. That also makes clear that Adam and Eve were NOT FIRST, they were made second. Doesn't the 6th day of Creation come BEFORE the 7th day of Creation?----> The family lineage that begins with Adam and ends with Jesus is the family lineage made by SATAN the LORD God, not God. That's why Isaiah 14:12 lists Lucifer as the Morning Star, and then Jesus calls himself the Morning Star in Rev 22:16. Jesus was Lucifer in the flesh, not God in the flesh. Jesus is Lucifer the Morning Star! Go to my channel for more details...
    That NEW WORLD Order that Alex Jones and other GOP Christians pretend to fight is really the goal of Christianity otherwise known as the NEW EARTH (Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22, 2 Peter 3:13, Rev 21:1) to be ruled by the New Jerusalem. The New Earth is where the nations are destroyed and massed together for a world government that will be on the shoulders of Jesus. Well, isn't the New World Order a world government as well? And gee, New Earth even sounds exactly like New World, doesn't it? That is not a coincidence, the New Earth is indeed the New World Order. It's all right there in your NEW WORLD Translation Bible if you actually bothered to read it...

    Evil?
    Even non-human animals were labeled by religious devotees as being "evil."
    Throughout history house cats were revered as being holy by those in religions and at other times were vilified as being evil by those in other religions.
    Now, for the most part, there are people who simply don't like cats, or people who are very fond of cats.
    The cat never was holy, or evil. The cat was just a self-centered creature of nature, and I suggest that as human animals, we also are simply self-centered creatures of nature, and that the terms evil and holiness are hallucinatory results of overactive human imaginations.
    “We are all hallucinating all the time, including right now. It’s just that when we agree about our hallucinations, we call that reality.” Anil Seth … neuroscientist.

    Trying to use logic to understand *Evil*will get you nowhere. I don't believe in using the concept of evil.... Why because you're trying to sum up all the points of something and end with a conclusion. Asking (Evil)why is not the right question. You ask a question because you want an answer, you want an answer because you're trying to conclude and understand. Evil makes no sense because it serves no purpose but to destroy. Evil is without reason or justification. It's a force that attaches itself to a host to bring forth destruction.

    "Evil" is simply when you hurt sentient beings. What your motivation or reason for harming other people or creatures is does not matter, if you do harm in any way you are being evil... The most evil deeds in history and still now as I say this is being done by people who wrongly think they are being good because they are arrogant idiots that believe blindly that they are "good", because of their own lack of understanging and insight they think EVERYTHING they do must be good. This way they rationale their own evil deeds as good and have absolutely no empathy or even understanding for their victims suffering.

    Evil is destroying value. Communism is political atheism. Satan is human Adversary. Satan is not the adversary of God the Father, because God, can't be challenged in any way, and Satan knows about it. Satan is the adversary of humanity. He tempts people into sin, in order to test their devotion to God. The book of Job, from the Bible, is dedicated to this theme.
