    If these are cheap to insure I don't understand why more young lads don't get them. Much more appealing than a limited edition nandos wagon.

      Problem is that insurance is the killer for us young drivers. i paid £2080 the first year for my peugeot 107 which has a 1 litre petrol engine. im thinking of getting a fiesta next with the 1.6 diesel engine. its a lot more powerful but is as cheap to run as the peugeot so at least im taking consideration for the running costs lol. im 19 and will hopefully have 2 years no claims and found insurance for about £1100 without the black box. i went to see one yesterday which was fairly specd but i noticed some of the body work was sprayed which is not a good sign and my dad noticed it felt underpowered as he had to go into 2nd gear just to overtake a cyclist o the test drive. seen another one although little bit of a high miler but diesels are strong

      Passed 2 months ago, been driving a 1.4 polo with a blackbox. 1k for the car, 2.2k for insurance, just found out that I can insure this yaris 2k without a blackbox, with the car being worth 2k. The reason everyone doesn't start of with these types of cars is because they're hidden gems that you wouldn't expect to be so cheap to insure for the performance you get.

    • @Drive-n-Vibe
      @Drive-n-Vibe 7 років тому +2

      Zain K it's amazing you paid that much for a 1.0 and i only paid £1k for my 1.4 corsa SRi (sadly with blackbox)

    I imagine a lot of people wouldn't really see the point in reviewing a car like this. I think it's a great idea! Cars like this are great fun, economical and reliable.

    I had one in 2001. Bought brand new. Insurance was very cheap and the performance was really quite good. Lift off oversteer allowed you to drive round corners by using throttle inputs. Loved it. Felt as quick off the line as my mates 106gti. Very much understated. Toyota Team Europe suspension and body kit. Real racing pedigree as TTE used to run the WRC cars. Looking to get one to run and for my son to learn to drive in. Phase 1 in Caribean Blue as its a bit lighter than the Phase 2. Love them
