Just bought me one this week.
Its got 220.000km on the clock, fully stock.
    Brakes and exhaust renewed.
(Two general weaknesses of the model)
Its a bargain if you ask me.
Anything under 3k euros is def worth it.
It costs €25 in road tax monthly
    And €30 insurance monthly
    Im in the netherlands btw

Great video! My first car eleven years ago was a Phase 2 T Sport. I thought that I would keep it for a couple of years than move on to something bigger and better but its still my only car. Apart from an aftermarket exhaust (the Toyota one costs £1200) and new alloys and tyres its all original and in great condition.

@@daigosaito888 2 years since I wrote this comment and I bought something else... Another t sport 🤣 had t sports for 5 years now lmao.
Had a mk1 mx5 for a week, did about 200 miles and enjoyed it (even getting stuck in torential rain with the top down on the A1) but it's not a direct upgrade and can't be compared in the same way. For something to be overall better it would have to fit the same catagory but 1-up in nearly every way, whereas they're far too different cars.
But out of every car I've driven, the MX5 was the hardest to resist.

I agree about the motorway driving, it does work hard.
The power drops off just before redline so I agree with the bit you said about going past 5k

Great review! I also find the Yaris T Sport to be massively underrated, i am looking to buy one as my first car and i am trying to find out if i can fit in one actually. I'm 6'5 tall, you said in your video that there is plenty of space for people, and that you are 6'4, do you think that i would feel cramped in one? Cheers!

      @BleeCarswell  4 роки тому

Hey mate, thanks for watching! I don't remember saying I'm 6'4 and if I did that certainly isn't the case, I'm 5'11! I think you might be pushing it at 6'5, definitely worth sitting in one before buying.

  • @TimSmithWordSmith

I’m in the market for something small and cheap with a little punch. It’s between this, a SportKa, a Puma (1.7, of course) and maybe a Lupo GTI. Curve ball: remember the Proton Wira GTI? Lotus tuned chassis, meant to be quite a lot of fun?
The Lupo’s values are strong, so probably out of my price range, and Puma values are climbing with most of the bad ones having been scrapped or pulled apart. The Wira is honestly one of the ugliest cars Ive ever seen. That body kit makes you look like a bellend. The SportKa is genuinely one of my all time favourite drives. I’ve owned a smaller engined Yaris, and although it was fun and pointy (with lift off oversteer if you poke it) I just can’t see how it will ever come close to the Ford for interactivity. But then, that Toyota will run until he sun goes out, and all the kit will work too...
    See my dilemma?

    • @BleeCarswell

Great review! They are indeed underrated. I don't need convincing, being a major Yaris fan already. I had two but just sold one. The one I kept is a 2006 RS into which I swapped a 2ZR-FE (Corolla engine) and then turbo'd it. It makes for a very fun driving experience with about 180 wheel horsepower and a weight of 2300lbs. I wasn't aware of all of the 2nd Gen, TS features, but there are some that I'd sure love to have on my '06, namely, the sun roof, rear disk brakes and that awesome sliding rear seat. Again, great video. Thanks for that. Here's my car, if interested.
