You'll notice that this one and dead poets society have the same vibe and its great how each of them have the goal to inspire men and women to be their best without being hold by society's expectations according to their gender
Sounds like some Neo-Marxist B S.
looks like it ticked off every cliche in the book.
Exactly what I was looking for in the comments before watching it 😂
This movie has all of my female acting role models and inspirations!😍
You mean people who sucked off Harvey Weinstein?
Spenser
Calm down Satan, that’s Julia Robert you’re talking about.
Exactly what I have had in my head,it is like you read my mind
Its, just like reading Rebecca sunnybrook farm...
Lol exactly! Well these are all my favorite actress. The Julias, Kirsten, Maggie, must be a dream come true to see them together
A lot of old movie trailers have the same narrator lol
seriously, who is that guy
I know he probably rich enough to own 2 castles right now
yah i wonder who is the mysterious guy
Demar Winston that guy is George DelHoyo
Better than the actually old ones - 30s and 50s.
I was extremely surprised at just how much I absolutely loved this movie, just heartfelt and very beautiful
I want to be friends with you
Same, it's predictable and cliche but i actually didn't mind watching it. It's way better than what critics are saying. I'm glad the students have excellent chemistry that i enjoyed. Kirsten was the best part of the movie
your beauty is making me feel better
*Project 2025* the removal of your right to file for a no fault divorce
Love Kirsten Dunst in this movie! Her and Julia made me cry in the end like a baby. I love her character's development.
whoooahhhh mona lisa, you're guaranteed to run this town
love u
SAY WHAT YOU MEAN TELL ME I'M RIGHT AND LET THE SUN RAIN DOWN ON ME GIMME A SIGN I WANNA BELIEVEEEEE
:)
YOU'RE MAKING ME HAPPY
ifuckinghate cantaloupe lol 😂
“I thought that I was headed to a place that would turn out tomorrow’s leaders, not their wives.”
Mona Liza smile 2003
That line is such a slap in the face of women... A woman doesn't become dumb or less capable just because she chooses to marry or start a family. An educated and smart wife/mother is the greatest asset to to a family. Men who are married to smart women can become incredibly successful even if they are not too smart themselves and don't have too big of an ego that would prevent them from taking wise advice of their wives . A smart mother who enjoys motherhood basically guarantees that the children have the highest chance to also become successful and almost always love learning and want to pursue a higher education.
@@MonatguestBrother that is literally the plot of the movie. Yes, women are all that you mentioned. but they're not JUST that. They're allowed to have individuality. They're allowed to also be leaders. And just because society has conditioned us into believing that there are only one or two roles for women, doesn't mean we should stick to the.
*Project 2025* the removal of your right to file for a no fault divorce
@@MonatguestYou see how your entire rant places the value of the woman squarely on what she could do for her family and husband? Being a smart wife is great but that shouldn’t be the ONLY option. Self actualization is really neat.
Narrator's voice flashback. Before everything was online, going to the cinema was a treat.
Where do I watch this movie
Really good movie...the trailer makes it seems like it's a comedy--it's not. It's excellent. The transformations of the characters are heartwarming to experience. I was pleasantly surprised.
of course
Thanks I was hoping for a drama and was put off by the comedy I'll check it out now.
What a great movie on female life in the 1950's.
What's a great movie on male life?
Melody Clark almost every movie - me, a film major
Meagan are you alive?
The white female* life but yeah.
+White +Privileged female life.
I adore this movie. Critics hated on the story because in their opinion, it could have been taken further and made more dramatic and profound and less chick-flickey, but the movie does what it's supposed to do as a chick-flick which is just slightly less superficial than normal chick-flicks. Mona Lisa Smile is supposed to be light and inspirational and cheesy, and it is.
Perhaps the greatness of the movie is that it draws you in like a chick-flick, but slowly reveals something considerably more meaningful and important. And even if much of the plot revolves around Julia Roberts' little love story, that's far from all there is to it, and the rest of it is heartfelt and touching.
I wish everyone is just like you
You used that awful chick flick word 4 times in such a short comment 🙄
@@dianabalan2919 You got a problem with that, cnt?
I love this movie I just watched it again it makes cry Hollywood should make more like this with real stories about what happens in our lives.
dead poets society vibes?? love it
maleelasart that’s exactly what I though
Hahaha I could feel that too, but I prefer this movie. Is it just me?
after watching dead poets society i suddenly feel the extra need to watch this...
lol
Exactly haha.
This movie is a basically a remnant of my childhood. Julia Roberts has a timeless kind of beauty. Even her stances in certain scenes never seem to age or grow weary over time.
Why did i cry like this, at the end of this movie!! 😭😭😭❤️❤
Absolutely loved this movie. Makes me think about a lot of things. Shed a tear at the end
I first watched this when I was too young to fully appreciate it. I think it’s time to rewatch it now that I’m all grown up and have experienced life.
Love this movie very much... but something is missing at the end. Kristen Dunst and Julia Robers hate each other's guts all the movie, but looooove each other in the last scene. You don't get to see when Kristen's character joined the 20th century, or when Julia's accepted that being a housewife can be an acceptable choice for an intelligent woman.
I don't think that there's a reconciliatory moment for Katherine and Betty, but as Betty grows more unhappy with her marriage she begins to see what Katherine was getting at in her arguments that marriage isn't everything. However Katherine is the one that convinces Betty to file for divorce and states that she thinks the only person to care about her is Katherine. Betty also applies to law school because of Katherine. I don't think Katherine does accept that being a housewife was a truly acceptable choice. But you can also look at it that she always saw that as an option for women but didn't approve of the university looking like an institution striving for change but actually pushing women into being housewives.
Maybe they felt they wanted the viewer to make up their minds and use imagination to figure out what had happened to the characters.
I really love Julia Stiles hairstyle, it is so chic. I love a good waved, retro look...
love her laugh and great movie with great actors
fun facts:
Kirsten Dunst (Betty) was going through conflict with her own mother as a teen/twentysomething for pushing her into doing certain things/acting in general and was dating Jake Gyllenhaal at the time. Maggie's (Giselle's) parents divorced in 2008, and Maggie portrayed a child of divorce in this movie. Julia Stiles came from a traditional family. Ginnifer (Connie) went on to do voiceovers in Disney movies. Art imitating life? Life imitating art? Did they have to do too much acting? You decide.
I almost cried😭 Best movie ever
Julia Roberts my favourite actor and has the best smile😍❣️
i nominate kristen dunst as a close second
What a great movie. I watched it with my partner last Sunday and we were very impressed. Oh, and great cast!
OMG DUDE I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT THIS MOVIE WAS THEN I SAW GINNY GOODWIN AND FREAKED CAUSE IM A OUAT FAN HHAA

SAME
I’m a fan from He’s Just Not That Into You!!!
Then you'll really freak out when you watch Big Love. You'll see a side of her that they'd never show on ONCE.
Kristen Dunst is one hell of an actress. Wow
Love the main lecture hall, Havemeyer, at Columbia university. Lots of crazy things have happened in that room.
Once a guy squished himself through an unstrung squash racquet in that room and then played the bagpipes halfway through. Lol!
My all time favorite movie 😇..
It's a stunningly beautiful movie !!!
This is one of my all time favourite movies
*Project 2025* the removal of your right to file for a no fault divorce

*Project 2025* the removal of your right to file for a no fault divorce
I cried when I watched it , not knowing that my life would be mona lisa
one of my all time favorite movies
Filmed in my hometown I do miss it dearly
I don't always like Julia Robert's but this movie put in a good word for her, in my eyes.
Julia stiles acted with heath ledgers in 10 things i hate about u....heath played as joker with gillian gyllenhaal (rachel gf of batman) in the dark knight...her brother jake gyllenhaal dated kirsten dunst who played mj gf of spiderman...julias bf in this film acted with Kirsten in spiderman 3 as venom...and the fourth actress of their group acted as snowwhite.... And do i need to start about Julia freakin Roberts?? 😍😍😍😍😍😍
GREAT, GREAT HIGHER LEARNING EDUCATION MOVIE !!!!!!!!!
Julia Roberts is such a beautiful woman and a BRILLIANTLY TALENTED actress
One of my teachers in high school had the poster of this movie in her classroom. Ironically, she was the dumbest, least motivated and arrogant teacher of the school.
As many, many University professors are.
*Project 2025* the removal of your right to file for a no fault divorce
The Emperor's Club vibes?? love it
Love it ths movie -Mona Lisa Smile, great inspirations

My smile👍💙
I cried so hard at the end

Love this movie. Make to looks old, but even today we have the same problem.
When i was 11 this trailer looked boring, now at 27 it looks inspiring and I'm going to watch it this weekend lol
Yeah, I was pretty young when this came out and didn't really understand it the first couple of times I watched it, but now, I can definitely appreciate what it's trying to say!
Bless Julia Stiles 💕💕
A long time till see this events again ❤

dreams by the cranberries in the background
i love this movie
this cast got me
A very touching movie.
I watch this movie when i was a kid but still this movie stuck in my mind until now. I don't know why. It is a great movie though.
Love this movie so much
Every movie trailer with Julia Roberts in it has a clip of her loudly laughing lol
Ahhh...That song by cranberries is sooo perfect
i feel like they hired screen junkies to do this trailer for some reason
this is where screen junkies got their narration actually
it feels like they are selling the film to teens or older kids but its clearly too adult for kids so its just awkward as a trailer lol ...the film is way too heavy for kids to watch or understand really
the good old days
great movie.every Indian girl must watch .
One of my favorites ❤️
OMG this is my favourite movie💗🌹
Just waiting for this to turn into a musical~
Ok so thanks to this trailer I've already seen the entire movie
*Project 2025* the removal of your right to file for a no fault divorce

Great movie 😍
My favourite movie
Love this movie & Julia Roberts in it
Nice movie
hey! kat Stratford!!!
Cat!
great movie
REBECCA MOLAYEM the best movie from Mike Newell since Pushing Tin and Four Weddings and a Funeral
Looks like a female version of Dead Poets Society lol.
thought the same. Ending looks happy contrary to dead poets society.
having seen both, i can tell u that although they've got the same sort of "revolutionary teacher vs stiff faculty" vibe, they are both great films in their own rights and they tackle the different pressures often put on the young people of the mid 20th century extremely well.
they're both well worth a watch
Oh captain,my captain
LOVE this movie so much
Love this movie & the soundtrack as it features Tori Amos!
You can confirm to what other people except of you or be ourselves❤️ a powerful saying💋💯
trailers never do movies justice
Finally watched the movie last night. I honestly don’t like how Katherine look down on married women. Women should support each other, married or unmarried. Nothing wrong with being a mother and a wife. It’s a sacred journey.
She didn’t look down on married women. She looked down on the fact that they didn’t explore their options.
Sucha great movie 🎥❤️
I love this movie.
Fun fact: Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Lily Rabe (American Horror Story) are both in this movie.
The best movie ever
So, it’s kind of like ‘Dead Poets Society’ but with a female led cast and it’s about art instead of poetry?
No, it's not
No dumbass.
has two Julias
