Unlike Michael Keaton, Christian Bale & Robert Pattinson (won't mention the others as their performance didn't cut it); Kevin Conroy had to build Batman & your perception of him through just using his voice. As someone else has already said; end of an era. Kevin Conroy truly brought Batman to life in the games 🎮. Sidenote; this scene hits so much harder now that Kevin has gone.

No one ever talks about how Vicki Vale must be feeling about all this. She's Bruce Wayne's love interest (as you can hear if you play the voice messages in Wayne Tower). Then she suddenly learns that Bruce is Batman, while she's reporting live on the air, and never receives any contact from him about it. And then, finally in this scene, she watches him go into his manor and seemingly commit suicide right in front of her, again while she's live on air. Must have been a very traumatizing night.

It’s still baffling that, rather than give the player the Demon Batsuit as a reward for 240%ing the game, Rocksteady just released the same normal Batsuit with a golden bat symbol. 6 years later, and that’s the most frustrating thing about this game.

Must have realized that he can't stand up to my superior intellect... though I can't really leave my hiding spot now... I kind of didn't think of supplies and a toilet down here... and I'm lonely... I can't really threaten anyone... is he... is he going to come back and do the other trophies...?

One of the early games to come out for ps4 and still arguably the best in performance imo. Plot needed alot of help but the gameplay was just fantastic

It's insane how well this game ages. It's still the most fluid and in depth super hero game ever imagined. Spiderman was great and took a lot of the same pieces that work well together but the level of integration between cutscenes/gameplay/missions opening up everything in this game was made with so much detail. I hope we get another one someday

Notice its how 'the batman' died, not 'Bruce Wayne'. Theory (hopeful): The Knightfall protocol was a protocol to show the public that Batman is gone. This doesn't mean that Bruce Wayne is dead. There are underground railroads and tunnels underneath Wayne Manor, so he could have escaped to leave Gotham and go elsewhere, maybe to continue the Batman legend in another form. Maybe he even stayed in Gotham, hence the demon-style Batman we see in the closing scene. It could be a result of fear toxin still hanging around in Gotham after the events of Arkham Knight, leading the thugs in the closing scene to believe they are seeing some kind of demon. On the other hand, it could be them seeing Batman himself, as a lot of thugs in Arkham Knight say that they thought he was something other than human and, maybe this is how they saw him and imagined him to be in the Arkhamverse. I remember, I think it was, Commissioner Gordon (correct me if I'm wrong) who said to Batman that they knew he wouldn't abandon Gotham, so that leads to the idea that either Batman is still alive, but quite literally living in the shadows, or that Rocksteady are leaving it open for a further storyline, either in a videogame or film, perhaps not even developed by rocksteady, but by another developer continuing the Arkhamverse. One last thing: notice how it's only Commissioner Gordon who says 'this is how the batman died', and not someone in Batman's much closer inner circle. If Bruce Wayne was going to fake his own death, he likely wouldn't tell Gordon, so it could simply be Gordon thinking that Batman and Bruce Wayne are dead, when they really aren't.
I got 240% on this game It was a fucking painful and grueling process that I never want to go through again, this fucking challenge was so time consuming and so difficult that I will never be the same DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I SACRIFICED?
This reminds me so much of Nolan's batman, maybe even better. Everybody assumes he's dead (which he clealy isn't) but in reality he creates a symbol which everyone will be forced to think either a batman is a ghost or that he's indestructable. As the cherry on top he uses the Fear gas with the help of Gordon's daughter to actually make batman even scarier.

I'm sure the police is using Fear Gas. The way the silhouette revealed as a demon is pretty similar to the hallucinations induced by Scarecrow. And the police has it's hand on him, so the chemicals are available too.
@Ibrahim Badr It probably isn't even that. Batman likely utilized the fear toxin to appear as a ghost whenever he's needed. He didn't need to really kill himself. Dude could easily go into hiding and cause an explosion everybody thinks the Bat is dead. Then whenever someone says "I saw the Bat! He's ALIVE!" Everyone just assumes no, Its still the fear toxin. You were out on the streets that night.

I could 240% this game as many times as I want to and I'll never get bored, this is the only Arkham game where getting the riddler trophies are easily tolerable moreso than Asylum, I can't imagine trying to do the same collecting those 400+ trophies in Arkham City in every save slot, its extremely tedious compared to Knight.
Tbh, I kinda had the same distinction and hate for them at first, but for Riddler and his trophies and all, I played through the story and tried to beat it all before getting the other gadgets. After I got the gadgets, it was smooth sailing and soon enough I had every single one of them. Getting them all and beating up the Riddler was so damn satisfying. It was really damn cool, and I do recommend it sometimes.
@@DeNiroLegacy Maybe its just me but as of now, I've already 240% Arkham Knight probably around 10 playthroughs now, maybe more. To the point that I already know where certain trophies are and how to get them pretty quickly without looking at the map, getting the trophies just became a necessity for me everytime I replay the game and starting a new save. I guess I'm just really having fun with the game. But I can't imagine doing that crap in Arkham City no matter the times I play that game.
rocksteady have achieved an absolute masterpiece with this game. after all these years coming back to the game still feels incredible. the story, the music, the gameplay, the graphics everything is near perfection.
I would love a new Batman game with these mechanic's but a new Batman story without the batmobile tank in any form. I love all batman games and never want them to stop making them.
I feel so stupid now, all these years I thought you had to actually do the full ending to get the suit. I've 240% completed twice and I just always assumed the suit was challenge maps only 😂

my theory is that Bruce faked his death and is now a full-time vigilante. the Knightfall protocol was to blow up the manner and leave no trace of his existence. that way Gotham will believe the Bat is dead. Bruce is the Demon Bat i think he figured out the ingredients to Scarecrows toxin and made a less powerful dose and is using it to create this illusion that Batman haunts the criminals of Gotham. i’ve seen theories that Azrael, Dick, Tim or even Jason could be the Demon Bat. but none of the theories really make sense. i could definitely see Bruce making a less potent and much much less harmful version of the fear toxin. instead of actually dying he’s turned himself into a ghost story. i think he made the toxin weak enough that innocent bystanders could be exposed to it without any harsh or long term affects other than seeing a Demon Bat.
I dont understand why they wouldn't be afraid of him. knowing who he is would lesson the fear but i dont think it'd get rid of it. he's still their nightmare now they just know he can afford their hospital bills

Notice its how 'the batman' died, not 'Bruce Wayne'. Theory (hopeful): The Knightfall protocol was a protocol to show the public that Batman is gone. This doesn't mean that Bruce Wayne is dead. There are underground railroads and tunnels underneath Wayne Manor, so he could have escaped to leave Gotham and go elsewhere, maybe to continue the Batman legend in another form. Maybe he even stayed in Gotham, hence the demon-style Batman we see in the closing scene. It could be a result of fear toxin still hanging around in Gotham after the events of Arkham Knight, leading the thugs in the closing scene to believe they are seeing some kind of demon. On the other hand, it could be them seeing Batman himself, as a lot of thugs in Arkham Knight say that they thought he was something other than human and, maybe this is how they saw him and imagined him to be in the Arkhamverse. I remember, I think it was, Commissioner Gordon (correct me if I'm wrong) who said to Batman that they knew he wouldn't abandon Gotham, so that leads to the idea that either Batman is still alive, but quite literally living in the shadows, or that Rocksteady are leaving it open for a further storyline, either in a videogame or film, perhaps not even developed by rocksteady, but by another developer continuing the Arkhamverse. One last thing: notice how it's only Commissioner Gordon who says 'this is how the batman died', and not someone in Batman's much closer inner circle. If Bruce Wayne was going to fake his own death, he likely wouldn't tell Gordon, so it could simply be Gordon thinking that Batman and Bruce Wayne are dead, when they really aren't.

This reminds me so much of Nolan's batman, maybe even better. Everybody assumes he's dead (which he clealy isn't) but in reality he creates a symbol which everyone will be forced to think either a batman is a ghost or that he's indestructable. As the cherry on top he uses the Fear gas with the help of Gordon's daughter to actually make batman even scarier.

I'm sure the police is using Fear Gas. The way the silhouette revealed as a demon is pretty similar to the hallucinations induced by Scarecrow. And the police has it's hand on him, so the chemicals are available too.

@Ibrahim Badr It probably isn't even that. Batman likely utilized the fear toxin to appear as a ghost whenever he's needed. He didn't need to really kill himself. Dude could easily go into hiding and cause an explosion everybody thinks the Bat is dead. Then whenever someone says "I saw the Bat! He's ALIVE!" Everyone just assumes no, Its still the fear toxin. You were out on the streets that night.
I thought it was Azreal donning the Batman persona. Bruce even said he was training him to be his replacement.

I could 240% this game as many times as I want to and I'll never get bored, this is the only Arkham game where getting the riddler trophies are easily tolerable moreso than Asylum, I can't imagine trying to do the same collecting those 400+ trophies in Arkham City in every save slot, its extremely tedious compared to Knight.

Tbh, I kinda had the same distinction and hate for them at first, but for Riddler and his trophies and all, I played through the story and tried to beat it all before getting the other gadgets. After I got the gadgets, it was smooth sailing and soon enough I had every single one of them. Getting them all and beating up the Riddler was so damn satisfying. It was really damn cool, and I do recommend it sometimes.
@@DeNiroLegacy Maybe its just me but as of now, I've already 240% Arkham Knight probably around 10 playthroughs now, maybe more. To the point that I already know where certain trophies are and how to get them pretty quickly without looking at the map, getting the trophies just became a necessity for me everytime I replay the game and starting a new save. I guess I'm just really having fun with the game. But I can't imagine doing that crap in Arkham City no matter the times I play that game.

rocksteady have achieved an absolute masterpiece with this game. after all these years coming back to the game still feels incredible. the story, the music, the gameplay, the graphics everything is near perfection.

my theory is that Bruce faked his death and is now a full-time vigilante. the Knightfall protocol was to blow up the manner and leave no trace of his existence. that way Gotham will believe the Bat is dead. Bruce is the Demon Bat i think he figured out the ingredients to Scarecrows toxin and made a less powerful dose and is using it to create this illusion that Batman haunts the criminals of Gotham. i’ve seen theories that Azrael, Dick, Tim or even Jason could be the Demon Bat. but none of the theories really make sense. i could definitely see Bruce making a less potent and much much less harmful version of the fear toxin. instead of actually dying he’s turned himself into a ghost story. i think he made the toxin weak enough that innocent bystanders could be exposed to it without any harsh or long term affects other than seeing a Demon Bat.
