-----------------------------------------------------------------
Ghost of Tsushima is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The player controls Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Jin must choose between following the warrior code to fight honorably, or using practical but dishonorable methods of repelling the Mongols with minimal casualties. The game features a large open world which can be explored either on foot or on horseback. When facing enemies, the player can choose to engage in a direct confrontation using Jin's katana or to become a legendary warrior known as "the Ghost" by using stealth tactics to assassinate opponents. A multiplayer mode titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was released in October 2020 and made available separately in September 2021.

The japanese version is just basically tuned down in regard to gore. That's because japan is quite tight in that regard. There is also a different Nioh version etc.

i forgot how classy of a choice it was to use the wind, the chimes, the foxes and the birds to guide the player as you explore the land. it's brethtaking how relaxing the whole game is, with the point being the balance between chaos, fight and death versus calm, peaceful, and life.
This game is a poem put to video. straight up.
And then you open the map and it vomits 50 question marks on top of your screen for every location that you DARED to ride near.
Let's not pretend like it's perfect with that flowery language of yours.
@@TheTsuyukithat's the thing, you go near it and marks a waypoint in case you missed it or want to come back later, the game doesn't vomit anything unless you avoid doing any of them.
Most of the time you would use the wind or look for smoke in the air which is explained in the game that there is something there.
Way to exaggerate 😂
@@TheTsuyukiI was actually kind of thinking the same thing. I noticed I kept opening the map to make sure I was still going the right way lol.
@@TheTsuyuki Sony first party studios can't create a good open world game, their games are just using the Ubisoft formula with more polish and decent story, I actually loved Sony games till the start of PS4 era after that they have lost my interest.

The optimization of this game on PC reminds me of Days Gone on PC.. Simply incredible. I get over 150fps on max settings on Days Gone

even a 60-70 fps with smooth frametime graph will make u completely forget about fps

Yeah the wind mechanic is probably one of the best game mechanics ever seen in a videogame
Specially on how it ties into the Story. I dont want to spoil anything. But if you listen carefully, then even to Wind becomes something special and a character

I dont see ACS beating Ghost. Its just to good to be beaten by the slop Ubisoft drops on the ground for us. I dont even care about the historical inaccuracy in this comparison. Ubisoft doesnt have what it takes to make this level of quality.

Nixxes were behind the port. They're usually the most reliable dev for releasing PC ports so it's no surprise it runs well. It even runs decently on Medium settings at 30FPS on the Steam Deck. Not bad.
Port's pretty good for the most part, but there might either be a memory leak that halfs your framerate if you play long enough, or it's a problem with the towns that do that and then your framerate doesn't come back to normal even after you leave the town, until you restart the game.
@@thealgerian3285 I heard something about frame generation being part of the problem IF you're using DLSS at the same time. Of course, I don't know what your circumstances are, so I won't presume that's what you're using.
For what its worth, I played for about 4 hours on PC the other day, and didn't see any serious issues. But also, my PC is getting a bit long in the tooth (10700k, 2080 super), so I don't turn up all the bells and whistles that could potentially be a problem. Hopefully they do patch the bugs people are experiencing soon!
@@cmdrfokker yep it was frame gen, it's very buggy overall in it's current state. Turning it off and playing it for hours without a hitch or stutter or visual bug, no memory leak, no crashes.
@@cmdrfokker I've not used frame generation at all in this game thus far and I'm always checking these kind of settings before I launch a game for the first time.
Also, it only happened once so far. So I'm not sure what the problem is or was. But I know I've not been the only one.
However, since the game only came out mere hours before I saw people experience this, it's also possible it only happened once for them.

Sony make the some of the best graphical games.
Yes. This game was why I bought PS4, my personal system seller. Highly recommend if you haven't played it already. Graphically, it often reminds me of WItcher 3 style. Now, looking back, Witcher 3 shows its age in some parts, NPC faces look pretty bad by now, Geralt himself looks awful, but I think W3, just like GOT, will always look beautiful, because of its color pallet, the colors are just so bright and beautiful in those games, it is like opposite of Behesda titles lol. In Witcher 3, its a 10 year old game almost, but if you go near the water, and the lake and sky will be so blue, sand will be so yellow, while the fellow forest is bright green in the background. It is like a painting, I guess there would be people who dislike such style, cause it is not very realistic, or too bright, but I don't know man, it just looks amazing.
Its been a long time since I have played this game, this remains the only game ever that I pre order, but I remember that one quest where I had to find a shrine or smth, and I had to follow the clues, there were no markers, anything, but just clues what I need to find with my actual eyes. And I remember I had to look for a blue flowers, I ride my horse back and forth and suddenly I see a hill full of blue flowers, and it just hit me - this is amazing, what an experience.
They had Akira Kurosawa mode, that makes the game black and white, and it was more than a filter, they put effort to make sounds and effects look and sound more like Akira's films, but that mode, while great homage, is still so needless, because if you choose to play this game black and white, you are a fool.
Can't disagree.
God of war Ragnarok is the most beautiful game I’ve ever played

@@liloni444 I have and I love it. But while the game is beautiful and the forests especially look super realistic something about the beauty disappears in the screen compared to real life, but with GoT even if it doesn't look exactly like real life manages to capture the feel of looking at a beautiful vista.

To all of my beautiful people finally trying this game on PC, my only advice: TAKE YOUR TIME! Truly immerse yourself. Take the time to fully, and I really mean fully explore objectives, towns, etc. There are tons of other cosmetics, lore, unnecessary but cool details, etc that are worth finding!

Just the intro alone, is absolutely shivering! What a phenomenal game
Interesting fact about the grass in the game: in most, if not all games, we have a pack of grass blades positioned on the ground. The larger the number of the pack is, the denser the grass is respectively, which requires more processing power and can hinder performance. What the devs at Sucker Punch did is that they took the grass blades and simply bent them in U shape there for creating the illusion of having twice as much grass from a single grass blade. Simply incredible and very clever
This game is jaw-dropping even on PS5. Holds a buttery smooth 60 fps even at 4k resolution, so I’m sure with the right hardware you can easily get 120+ frames at 4k on PC.

One of the best things about the wind mechanic in my eyes is that you never need to call the wind
I didn't know how to call it for the first couple hours, and so I just followed the actual wind, all wind blows to your pin, so even when not calling the wind, it still passively blows that direction anyways, meaning if you've got a good eye, you see where you need to go
I shouldnt be able to play this but thank god for piracy.
Cool channel man 🤘
Just picked it up myself because it was suggested by two of my work buddies. My jaw was on the floor. I, too, have a pretty powerful pc so I was able to crank everything and still run it at 80-100 fps native. It's become an action game third to a walking simulator and a background wallpaper generator- so much time spent in photo mode. I haven't played a game since Skyrim that has such a serene and magical atmosphere.
What makes this game look so good is the scale of the world. The trees and rocks make the world feel massive as they block your view. The last Halo felt tiny it felt like you could see the whole map. Sort of like the San Andreas remake when they didn’t add the fog effect.
Wow! Looks amazing! Im glad PC players are able to enjoy such an amazing game. One of my favs for the last gen.
One of the things I love about this game is when Jin has finished killing the enemies, and you choose to sheath his katana, Jin will do these cool animations to clear the blood off his katana before sheathing. It’s so cool.
This game is tremendous overall. It's nice to see so many people appreciate it now. I feel like there was a lot of love when it came out, but a lot of people tried to bring up negatives too. I won't comment on the one negative the game has. The combat, visuals, and feel of the game is tremendous. I love how the combat is a challenge but isn't souls like. Super nice for the average gamer.
It works smoothly with my GTX970M 9 yr old card. And I love fighting mechanics so much. So far it is an amazing experience.
I was playing this during my transition to pc
Finally time to finish it, such a majestic experience of a game
It looked amazing back in the day on PS4 (1080p 30FPS) and even on my PS4 fat with its stock HD, loading took seconds. Sucker Punch really pushed the hardware to achieve such great performance and I can’t imagine how great this will look on PC.
I played the hell out of this on my PS4 and loved it. I am going to pick it up on steam at some point, pretty much only play PC these days anyway. So much fun playing this game cant wait to go again and having it look even prettier :-D
Let's also not forget the ridiculously good force feedback implementation on the dual sense controller. Really adds so much depth to the game.
Bear in mind the pandemic though, between being underemployed and the console shortage I was only able to get a ps5 this time last year. Was great for guys in my position that a lot of the early current gen games were built to be playable for ps4. Now we are through that, hopefully tech will press on a bit
glad they did it so well. That's where my roots are from! ❤
I really hope they announce the ragnorak pc port next. Been dying to play that game on ultra wide
I’m playing in the black and white mode and it is really something else, very intriguing to explore the world that way
Platinumed it back then and now I'm playing it on super ultrawide and it's so gorgeous!
A RX6800 & 5800X3D can run max settings at 3440x1440p & never drop below 60 then you turn one setting down one notch from ultra shadows & then it never drops below 80 then you turn on FSR3 FG & it's 144 at all times & it's so well implemented I can't even see anything different but my fsp doubled.
This game is crazy good optimized no stuttering or anything just straight performance it did crash a couple times in the first hr with Frame Gen but niw it works fine.
I am so glad I never got a console after the PS3 & I played Ghost of tsushima on pc.
70-80fps here with GPU scaling and integer scaling on with the Legion Go! Loving it!
There are points throughout the game where you send NPC's to a local town. You can then follow them to that town and clear their path of any dangers. You don't need to interact with that NPC again, they just walk right past the corpses.
I love how they upgraded the water. It’s one of the things that I’ve noticed that is always lacking on ps exclusives
I could only imagine how good it looks on pc. On ps5 on my 1440p monitor this was one of those games that looks and plays well. Such a good game
Cant wait to play it after my finals. I saw it also runs quite well on steam deck, thats great. And the game still look like this sear graphics game

Some devs need to learn what the joy of discovery is. Having a mini map with a gazillion markers is not engaging gameplay.
