Padi is a stunner, brought one back in October, hasn't been off the wrist since. Real show stopping, people can't believe at a second glance that it's a seiko.... get one now cause it's never going to go out of style....instant timeless classic

I got my PADI yesterday at the Seiko Boutique in NYC. was only gonna look at it but ended up buying it. it looks amazing in person. the braclet is the weak point as far as quality but it feel comfortable and that's just fine with me. it really looks amazing

I was also about to buy one but the quality and feel of the bracelet was too off. Got it changed my mind.

Recently picked up a SRP775, very nice piece. Durable, reliable and looks great
The Air Diver on the back of the case back means that the watch is for regular scuba diving with air tanks. It is not meant for saturation diving (where you are breathing helium/oxygen mix). If you want a watch rated for that, get the grand tuna rated for 1000m. But Seiko took it below 4000m before it stopped working.
I convinced my AD to drop to grey market prices and also give me the miniature diving tank off the display! Having said that, there are alignment issues.
if you have a small wrist but like big watches, this is the one for you.. 45mm case width(big), but 48mm lug-lug(small-med), amazing...

I just purchased the Monster Vampire SRP-313J1. It runs about -4 secs per day. I didn't care for the rubber strap so I ordered the Monster bracelet and installed it yesterday. The watch looks much better. Now, this video has me thinking about buying the gold/black Turtle.

Never grew to like that cushion case for some reason. Everything else on the PADI is superbly done though. The SKX009 has more of a timeless design that will never go out of style.

I just purchased the SPRA21 and I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival. The Turtle case and the brushed/polished finish looks great. The curved case back seems that for a 45mm it will wear very comfortably. Thank you Mark, for this quick look at the new Prospex X PADI watch. I can easily see why they are "flying" out of your store. PS. I am a new subscriber and I will keep an eye on your channel.

I own this watch, but I also have a Rolex bluesey, Arnold and Son and other haute horology. This is great beater watch, like to were it to the gym or through rough terrain.
4:02 alignment issue?
I thinks of the watches shown here the SKX175 was the best looking. I'm not convinced that the cases being wider that the bezel looks right on the others.
I have the SRP773. It's spectacular!
Still torn between this and the SKX009. Already have the 007 though...
I think the dail on this is a bit too busy, between the Seiko and their Prospex logo and the huge PADI text...
I had a convertible Mini and it was painted Moonraker Blue which is very similar to the PADI.

Got my padi in New Zealand. Alignment perfect but strap is bad. Put it on a to modello long black and gets lots of + comments.

Sorry to ask about this but I want to buy a ORIENT TRITON RA-EL0002L00A and a see this and I get confused which one is better. The price are almost same.
Why are some white enamel/ paint surround the hour dots and some have silver? 131 k and 99k?

Comments concerning the chapter ring being out of alignment looks to be just a play on you eyes because the light he used is directly overhead it creates a shadow inside the day/date window at the top.

Hey Marc, I've noticed that in the video, in the bottom of the dial, we can see ''mvt Japan'' plus the movement markings. But we don't get to see that in the pictures of the watch displayed on your website. Is there a difference between the 2? (Origin, manufacture...) Just curious

The camera work and quality in this video is outstanding. Great job. The PADI's bezel ring was off as is many of them. Is there a way to correct it? Curious.
Well thank you! Much appreciated! There are instructions on the web showing it, but it does involve popping the crystal off, and not many folks have the heart for that.
Mark if I sent you my Seiko PADI watch how much would you charge me to put a flat sapphire crystal in it. Also what would be a separate charge if I wanted to get your super Jubilee bracelet put on it. To lower the cost for me I would let you keep the other bracelet it came with its brand new never worn. Wow, the chapterring is way of. Is this a QC issue or isn't Seiko capable to put these chaperrings in straight. Have seen a lot of turtle with this problem. Al versions, and as we can see also the special edition. Fot this pricerange you should expect more.
Its on many Seiko divers, bothers some, not others. My Omega Speedmaster has a misaligned bezel. Never bothered me. Spent much more than a Seiko. To each his own.

not sure there is a JDM version, but I could be mistaken.
Did I spot a misaligned dial at 4:00? If so, I'm surprised they haven't fix this. : /

I bought a Pepsi bezel Seiko Special Edition the same as the one you just reviewed at the week end, I love the look of it.
It cost me $499 AU, but considering our $ rate at the moment that was OK, it was a $200 saving on RRP.
I did actually look at getting one from you, but I wasn't sure how much it would cost to send it to me & If you send to Australia.

It's impossible to keep pace with the Seiko diver range, if anything too much choice.
I actually agree with you, and so did Seiko. This year, 2016, was the first year they didn't inundate the market with new models.

My padi runs at -5 a day. Kinda wish it was fast instead of slow. Still not bad but the watch is amazing.
Any watchmaker should be able to adjust it for you. It's just a matter of moving the adjustment lever on the balance bridge to shorten the effective length of the hairspring.
ripperx444, I am running -3 on the Seiko PADI according to atomic time
I think that's all good for how much it costs. My omega seamaster with the coaxial runs +4 a day! If you consider how long it took omega to make that movement and the price of this watch it makes seiko that much more amazing.

I just received my watch from eBay and upon opening it noticed didn't come with the blue case back protective sticker. Should I be concerned that it mightn't be a brand new piece? Because as far as I've seen they all come with the stickers? Thanks.
Yes, they all come with blue stickers on the back as far as I know.
The PADI chapter ring is twisted in this video. Look at the index at 6 o'clock and how it meets with chapter ring. Typical manufacturing flaw in seikos
Not in Seiko's eyes. It's an allowable amount of play. Just going on the term "defect". "Defects" generally do not leave the factory. Of course lemons are always made, but Seiko indeed makes a quality product for the bucks.
I don’t believe the person used the term defect..he said flaw and having that chapter ring like that is a flaw.

Great video. What would you describe as the advantages of getting a Sumo over these? I have an Orient Ray Raven II (bought from you), but I feel like the new Sumo is wonderful .Why would one want to spend extra money on the Sumo?
Besides cosmetic, the Sumo's use the 6R15 movement, which among other things, incorporates a SPRON mainspring which gives a full 50 hours of power reserve. While another 10 hours might not sound like much, its the difference between having to reset it after 2 days of inactivity or not.
Is there a PADI batman? I never liked the Pepsi, but I love the batman.

Yes, at 4:00 I can see it clearly. I wan't the watch but it will be hard to live with the misalignment.
The alignment on mine depends which eye I wear the glass eye! No, you know what, the chapter and bezel are microns wonky!

It's the 4R36, which is quite a smooth winding watch. I sold a Monster (same movement) to the manager of the watch section at a local high-end jewelry store and he commented on how nice the winding action was.

Analog means a display with hands, like a regular 3-hand watch.

"Analog" has more than one meaning, in this instance, I mean it as "relating to". The PADI diver is like the 009 in Turtle form.
got you, I got the PADI last week and with the dial and min. hand it so unique that it miles above the difference between the SKX007 and 009 that I both have also, but I do understand your point and that is what I thought until I saw it in real life

They've gone and over-modded it and not in the most advisable way, sort
of trashed it.
Tomasina Covell definitely in the minority with that opinion. red accent is functional (remember these are first and foremost a tool watch, not a fashion piece).

nah, its a cool version. just 1 version out of like 10, everyone with different colors and accents. my favorite is still the all black classic look, but I have the padi and 777, they are both cool in their own way.
