We will never experience magic or creativity like this on television ever again. R.I.P, The WB. (1995-2006). Gone but not forgotten.
This song is called “crawl” by “this way”. No1 made promos like WB. The cinematic artistry. These right here engrained some of my best memories as a child. The feels man
And i couldn't agree with you more man. Got goosebumps remembering what it was like watching this for the first time.
No doubt the cinematic quality comes from the fact that WB was and is a successful film company.
We know the name of the song. Its in the title.
@@Witchy1976 it’s in the title but doesn’t mean people know what the song is. I gave the name of the song and the groups name. What’s the issue?
@@Witchy1976 Hey Witchy.... don’t be Bitchy.
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOREVER!!! I'VE HAD THAT SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR, LIKE, FIFTEEN YEARS!!!
Same here! I just found it tonight! The nostalgia nearly brought me to tears.
Me too God bless the 90s
These shows were serious quality even though they were thought of as a silly teen network at the time. Time really did tell the tale of just how talented and great these shows were. Many of these shows are currently getting remakes/reboots. And look at the extreme success of almost the entire creative team behind Buffy in movies and tv shows now. The entire main cast of Dawson's Creek went on to have very successful and fulfilling careers beyond this. Kerri Russell did insanely well. I mean, there are just so many examples of this.
These shows were well acted, well written, and with original story lines and themes. No politics, no bs, just good entertaining television. What the hell happened to the C/W? Reboots and sjw comic book nonsense.
Mann stop being so analytical and just say that this song reminds u of this time! 1999 I was in my 20s and life wasn’t necessarily so much better as different..
Yo chill 😄
They weren't that good. I mean memorable, yes, as we were coming of age with these shows but serious quality? Nope.
Just cheesy, white people problem dramas.
In 20 years people will be saying the same thing about Jersey Shore. "Oh man what a culturally iconic show! With the fist bumps, electronic music and fashion!"
I miss these days. Oh, what a night was my favorite promo too. :)
Tearing up from the nostalgia.
almost feel like i'm back in high school.
For me it's like going back to grade school
Indeed
Same here. I’m having major nostalgia right now watching old WB Network promos
I had just graduated
The fact that Jamie fox and Katie Holmes are a couple
0:57 omg Alyssa Milano and Charisma Carpenter next to each other lol my inner fangirl/girlcrush is freaking out. I know later she guest stars on Charmed but this old promo is so cool to see
Welcomed reminder of better times. I used to love the WB shows. Used to love the UPN shows. One of the saddest days in televison history is when they merged and cancelled a lot of good programming from both networks. I know nothing lasts forever. But it was good while it lasts. Glad I was a child of this era and got to experience these shows when they first aired and these talented group of actors in their prime.
Man the wb was the network in our house hold born 1987 and I remember all of the promos for the shows it will never be like this a again quality shows and acting I miss it all favs shows buffy and angel
These bumpers that WB did we’re just epic in their own little way
Absolutely. If memory serves me right, the NBC promos started to look like this around 2000-2001; not bad, but they couldn't touch this.
aw, love that shot of Keri, Katie, and Jessica. what a long way everyone's come since 99...
Who is here because they miss The WB
Edit: Just for the record the bumpers felt like I was a kid in the 90s sorry 😉
i am
2024 and this still gets me in tears and making me wish for this time in life again
I’m sooooo old and stuck in a UA-cam rabbit hole of these old ads
Wow. This is so old but still so good. Can't believe it's been 21 years since all of this
This WB promo solidified my love for the shows, its actors and the time period. Cant remember the number of times i watched this after recording it. Made me want to be an actor myself at the time lol. Quality tv shows and actors. Current WB tv which is now CW wasnt ever able to replicate this feel. Just goosebumps and watery eyes watching this again.
They were n their 20s, & Boreanez(Angel)early 30s :O now they're n their 40s-mid to late O:-) wow, the years O:-)
When you realize that this is the same song they used when the WB ended in 2006....
I just went back in time by watching this in December of 2017.
Such a good memories from the 90s!!!
Best memories of all time
Honestly, this had to have been one of the best tv seasons ever on a single network. They had Buffy, Angel, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, Charmed, Roswell (underrated), and Popular (underrated) all at their peak and on at the same time. The ONLY show missing that had yet to come out that would have completed it was Gilmore Girls.
Don't forget 7th Heaven and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
I think their 1998-99 lineup was just as good. The WB had Buffy, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, and Charmed. But, their sitcoms were great (Sister, Sister, The Smart Guy, Unhappily Ever After, The Wayans Bros.). A great mix of dramas and comedies.
Buffy, Angel, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, Charmed, 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls were all popular here in Australia too.
You forgot Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane welp
Whew you aren’t lying when you say Popular & Roswell were underrated 2 great shows... a lot of talent on that network at the time ☺️
Just gotta say that I love Joshua Jackson, then and now. It was great to see him in the final group shot.
Jamie Foxx looks the same way today as he did 16 years ago.
Allen Greene He's the real, #Vampyre... LOL
Futureworld X Steve Harvey’s show was in production and nobody from the cast appeared on these campaigns
@@jwilliams7554 R.I.P. Merlin Santana, A.K.A. "Romeo".
Sarah was always so elusive lol
miss these days h.s nostalgia
Tatiana Talavera she appears in other promos like this.
I remember this!!! I was searching for this so much! I vividly remember "i've never seen an angel" playing in the bkg! ahhhh 13 year old me would be proud of 30 year old me right now!
gladitsnotme 13 year old me would be sorely disappointed with how things turned out for 30 year old me.
@@Kay2be2mr Same, sadly. I'm sure you have done better and so can I. All the best to you.
Ahhh I remember waiting 30 minutes for the high quality version of this video to upload on QuickTime
Still one of my all-time favorite songs! Glad to see it on UA-cam! Wish this version was on Spotify!
It is!
The best of The WB! 🖤
I love this version the best. The other version was updated to include the Roswell and Popular cast but this one hit the marks better. And the iconic duo of Alyssa Milano and Charisma Carpenter! I also find it funny that Alyson Hannigan only appears in the very ending group shot LOL...just coming in out of nowhere.
Ahh WB were cool kids used to hangout!
Still memorable in 2021.🙌
So glad to find this song. It has been on my mind ever since we said good bye to WB!! Still mad!! Those were some awesome shows i was willing to stay up on a Sunday night when I just started high school.
Me and you both lol. So glad i grew up in this era. I miss it dearly
This is too iconic.
I remember hating this promo coming on while watching Pokémon, but now I long for those days. Why can't we go back in time?
Just here to pay my respects to WB, we miss ya'll. While i didn't have many memories, i did see some of Kids WB growin' up, and boy, do i miss those days.
Their kids programming was actually better than their adult one.
Buffy, charmed, Dawson, Felicity...The last time I got excited about tv.. really miss those days.
This was peak television. Rushing home on Wednesday nights to catch Felicity.
38 year old mexican. When I moved to usa in 96. The wb was supposed to be the network for pretty white kids. Upn for african americans and univision and telemundo for latinos. I enjoyed all of them. But the wb had the best series that talked about real teenagers at the time. Other networks were a little off. A mexican relating to this. Yes. I was living with 3 siblings. My parents were back in mexico. So high school and bills. 20 hours of work plus a teenage life. Isnt that what we all lived during the 90s? Yes we did.
How is this not getting over 1k likes?
did you ever watch "Greetings From Tucson"?
This is just so beautiful man =..) all these ladies and gents hanging out like old pals! I wonder how they all are and if they keep in touch after their WB years. This network was my childhood!
Me too! It was all i ever needed at the time when it came to tv and nothing else. Miss this era dearly. It helped shape my childhood for sure
The year is 1999. WB gets rid of big name sitcoms, like The Wayans Bros., Sister, Sister, Smart Guy, The Parent 'Hood and Unhappily Ever After in favor of more on drama fare like Popular and Roswell.
You're leaving out the most important piece of information...those we're all BLACK shows! Notice how they didn't even INCLUDE any of them, and had the BIGGEST STAR
(Jamie Foxx) in the promo commercial for like half a second while mugging ass WHITE BOYS I haven't even SEEN since '99 jump all over the screen like spastic assholes, and the White girls try to look as NON-SLUTTY as possible, but fail miserably! I'm sorry, I just sometimes get so SICK of white people being the only people on Earth who gets to be expressive, and show different sides to themselves, even though they actually HAVE no FLAIR in their lives, or do anything WORTH hearing about! They always FORCE their lives and corny adventures on people, like we CARE! LOL.
Unhappily Ever After wasn't a BLACK show. It had an all-white cast. One of the creators of Married With Children created the show. I still think that The Wayans Bros. and Smart Guy should've returned in the fall of 1999.
Smartest decision they’ve ever made. Real shows were brought in.
Not just that but it started the teenage era as they started phasing out Michigan J. Frog
damn I miss wb,i really don't even watch anymore.
SARAH. MICHELLE. GELLAR.
Oh.....
My...
Gawd 😭😭😭😭😭
I feel old
I have this on VHS. Wow. I miss The WB.
I used absolutely live for these promos❤
I have always loved watching this video now it reminds of memory lane.
this was the best song used to summon up this era
Miss the 90s
I'm just glad I made it THROUGH the 90's, without winding up dead or in jail!
R.I.P. The WB Network (1995-2006) Gone but not forgotten
I'd pay good money to have this upscaled/in HD.
Rest in Peace The WB 1993-2006. Everyone Hates the new CW. #BringbackTheWB
The WB will always be a classic, I like the CW though too.
WB was launched in '95.
@@marcelparker6755 UPN started in ‘95 too.
@@maxthomas4751 Thanks for clarifying. My mistake.
@@marcelparker6755 no problem
Sarah. Michelle. Gellar. 🥰🥰
Thisway !!!!!! awesome awesomeness of the most awesome.
Wow. High school all over again.
Most of the American WB series, here in Brazil, were shown on the Sony channel, some on WBtv and others on the FOX channel. Memorable time of great series, and around here many without airing or streaming.
That one shot of the guy pretending to step on the camera at 1:54 has been living rent free in my head forever!
That's Scott Foley
Thanks for sharing this video! So much memories!
This promo is my favorite, along with: Dubba Dubba and What a Night.
at 1:23 the dad is like," youre waaay too old for me"
That song was used during the wb’s final minutes
I remember this as a 9 year old kid why does those days have to now be over?
I’m a Xennial born in 1980, I don’t feel like I belong in the millennial or the generation x category. They should call us Xenials the WB generation. We were 16-22 when this promo aired and these shows defined us as a generation. Thanks WB
1980? You're GenX, sorry. Xennial isn't a thing. You're either in or out. There is no in between. Lean into it and be proud. Xo
so many on here would become huge stars
If you think about it if the WB still exist all the shows from the cw would be on here.
I remember when the WB came to Tulsa in September 1999 in the form of a new affiliate KWBT channel 19 now KQCW. I hate to say this but i miss The WB.
I really miss these
God, I don't! lol. I just remember being ASLEEP, and hearing the edited version of this commercial in the middle of the night while I was semi-conscious and would hear that song in my head all DAY, the next day! lol.
Pas de sarah michelle gellar à part une photo au début 😯😯
Damn the WB ❤
young Michael Rosenbaum!!!! so cute
They will never do tv like this again.
Let's jus say I miss the 90s
You are not alone
Omg my crush’s David Boreanaz and Joshua Jackson 😍 that’s so freaking nostalgic
Why Sarah michelle gellar has limited scenes, she was the biggest star that time 😡
She probably was doing a movie when this was made. She was a desirable actress at the time this was being done. Blame 90s horror starting the trend of teen-20-somethings tv stars making the leap to movies.
Memories.
Little did they know, it was going to be used for when The WB shuts down.
Okay I had a little trouble finding it on iTunes. Put Thisway. no spaces and you will find the song right away. apparently when you do it correctly it hides one of their best songs lol. I hope this helps. I loved this promo. I use to watch them over and over again on the wb. -Cw if your reading this -you suck- you never do anything cool like this and gotta be quite honest haven't had a decent show that I could say I'm addicted to since you bought the wb. Sad and I lost my fav show because of it, Roswell forever!
The star power in these "teen shows" is just absolutely ridiculous.
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Katie Holmes
Michelle Williams
Jamie Foxx
Keri Russell
Jessica Biel
Jame Van Der Beek
Alyson Hannigan
Seth Green
David Boreanaz
Joshua Jackson
Shannon Doherty
Alyssa Milano
Steve Harvey
Katherine Heigl
The WB had quality whereas most networks are now only focused on quanity. There is a reason why so many of these shows are getting remade or rebooted. It's because they were gold. Sadly though you can't catch lightening in a bottle twice. These awesome shows can not be awesome as reboots. The actors/actresses,writers,etc made it great just because you take the name of a great show and make it something else doesn't make it great. Charmed,Roswell, etc that's being remade can never stack up to the original.
0:31 - They used that same footage of James Van Der Beek from the 1998-99 season.
Dianna the song is by This Way and its called crawl
Yes sir, yes sir 🙂
Looking for the promo where they wrote their names on the screen in light or something and a piano was playing as they did it.
I didn't see the clip of Seth Green jumping on the couch, or did I miss it? That's the main thing that I remember from those WB commercials ;)
Tv was so much better then
Could somebody please find the promo that featured the song Love This Way? I've been dying to see this promo and haven't seen it since I was in elementary school. I just found the name of the song today lol, but I want to see the promo video they did with it again.
2:56 🙌
ACTORS',DREAMS,movie,rated R.
They need to shut down The CW, and revert it back to The WB Television Network, a network that was signed off and shut down back in 2006. They need to bring back The WB Television Network and UPN Network by late in this year, or at some point in 2023. Also, they need to shut down MyNetwork TV too, because all they show is fucking reruns of old shows.
Kinda ironic..1:43 ...Jamie Fox..then Katie Holmes right after that scene
Because...
Because they've been dating for like 5 years now.
@@Jane-wu7qm Oh.
What about the 1998 promo with the Royal Crown Revue?
I HAD to look this up since I've been watching "reboots" of "CHARMED" & "HEATHERS". (How old does THAT make me feel?) It's surreal to look at this & think: " Jessica Biel, it's gonna get a little rough, but it'll be worth it! Katie Holmes, run for cover!" Alas, the 90's were such a simple time...
Well that same song for the wb's final night before completed merger with upn to form the CW c for CBS and w for Warner Bros I was 11 I'm seen it on kdaf 33 a full version my aunt Marsha watch 7th heaven I was fan of the Camden's
Where was the rosewell cast
!!!!!!!
Does someone have the full Farewell WB video?
***** I am looking for the complete one.
Would love to see Katie, Keri and Jessica recreate that pose 20 years later 2:17
WHERE IS THE ROSWELL CAST PLEASE??
3:02
Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes way back when
