I just changed mine, you can easily download any manual and print just the language you need, not all 80 pages. It says to turn the fan blade to rotate the cutters
If you were to read the manual you would find that they recommend that you you take the shroud off that covers the blade area so you can reach in and rotate the fan with your finger to turn your rollers and or reposition to access each blade for replacement, rather than bump the switch.
Very informative! I’m looking at buying this model used. Is there anything I should look for before purchasing other than the obvious - does it turn on? Like can you check them for square or something? Thanks!
Exactly . What part of the country are you and may I also ask what kind of wood working you doing? I’m always looking for new ideas and what’s selling in different parts?
I'm in the Charlotte NC area. I'm not up and selling alot just as of yet. The area is more modern furniture than classic wooden furniture. UNFORTUNATELY. Most of the projects are for my home and shop right now. I am working on a commission piece and hope to pull a few more from it.
Awesome thanks for I have the same planer as with all tools the blades/saw etc that come with the tool are poor quality so all saw blades etc should be replaced not just for a cleaner cut but for a longer cleaner cut . I look at it this way you buy cheap sandpaper you get shorter use etc
I've put these up against the ridgid brand from home depot 3 different times this year and am constantly disappointed in the ridgid compared to the cheaper from Amazon. So every time I flip the blades I order a new set so I don't have to wait or go to home depot
I have had a better experience and get longer life out of these. They are also cheaper 13-3/8 Inch HSS Planer Knives for Ridgid R4331, R4330 Planer, Replaces AC20502 - Set of 3 a.co/d/6ToZugK
I have had mine for about 15 months. Was going to use it 2 months ago and the boards were being pulled through jerky. I looked into it and found a bearing block for the outfeed roller was worn really bad. Still waiting on them to come in so I can get back to work. Anyone else have this issue? Up until then it did a great job!
I'm a technician by trade, I have found bearings to be hit and miss. Chinese ones the most. Witch is what I feel is in the ridgid plainer. Mine I is still feeding great after 5 + years but it loud as hell. So I think I maybe looking into bearings myself soon.
@@meanmacawwoodshop what's amazing for this is the rollers are in a steel block, no roller bearing at all. The blocks are dark so I assume they are oil infused? Every where I have looked they are out of stock. Mine have been backordered for 2 months now. Very frustrating!
@Steve Ayers have you looked at the link in the description for ereplacementparts.com. I have had great experience withe them in the past for the fan blade and blade hold down. Bothe were less than a weeks delivery time
I maybe adding apoxy to my work I sure like the looks of it . I’m in Oregon Portland area I sure could use a partner lol to bad there’s a distance for I prefer my wood carving over the building aspect and no I don’t use a CNC machine lol . I make to order I do a lot of Harley Davidson custom chairs but time I build and carve and usually do pairs lots of time involved but they are one of a kind for every order is something different I will not make my carving the same
I think that all hand built or carved should be individual . That's what makes them valuable. One of a kind is better by far. My daughter asked me to carve her a staff with an owl on it. I'm not much of a carver, so I've not gotten around to trying it yet.
Find yourself a pattern transfer it to whatever you’re working on get a dremal and some carving chisels and have fun . You can use transfer paper to transfer it I’ve been doing it for about 6 years now and trust me I can’t even draw lol I started by carving signs that I learned how to do it from UA-cam. I’m a truck driver by trade and could not drive anymore because of medical reasons and didn’t even think I could build anything when I started my tools came from habor freight and as I was building business I bought one dewalt at a time and now for the last 3 years I’m all rigid when possible
I have had it for about 5 to 6 years, and have had no problem with it. The problems I have had were user error. With that said I have beaten the snot out of it and it keeps doing a great job
I’m selling mainly out door furniture locally but everyone wants me to sell online but I really don’t want to deal with the shipping because most of my stuff is in size and weight. I’m already doing pretty good locally and it’s hard to keep up with the orders for everything is custom made to order and I’m only one man and already having a hard time for a quick turnaround and if I sell online I’m sure I would need to hire someone to keep up .
Nice work shop, i wish i had one like that, i had a opportunity to by a Ridgid planer - seller explained motor making Noise and needed to be dismantled and Cleaned. He still was asking. $250 CAD.Alot. He did not accept my offer.i did not buy. I did not want to send money on a belt or motor bearings or motor from E replacement parts
@@meanmacawwoodshop quality looks Amazing and Heavy. I have Ridgid table saw. And 12" sliding miter saw ,also have Ridgid fuel injected gas pressure washer. Amazing quality
Each of those blades has TWO SIDES. So BEFORE YOU GO BUY NEW BLADES, you can just reverse each of the 3 blades, use the planer till those sides are dull and THEN go buy some new blades. Package says on front: "Reversible with 2 cutting edges"
Great video best I have seen on the Ridgid showed everything I need to maintain mine thanks
Glad I could help

That would definitely be a safer way to do it thanks so much

That’s very smart to buy back up for there’s no down time
It also saves me a 30 min drive to home depot saving in Gass to

Thank you so much!

+John Shipps the rollers maybe what shape the Indeed and out feed tables are in any play in the cutter head.
Will changing the blades and cleaning the rollers stop slipping? Or is there adjustment in the rollers?
In my case it has stopped it

Try the closed caption on Spanish, that might help
