This is superb. It just doesn't get any better than this. Your vids of harmonic analyses of various songs are second to none. Great info and great learning tools. Well done. Thanks.
I think I've solved it. In my head, I'm hearing the first 4 chords as all 3-note chords and I'm play the C7 on the 8th fret so there's a mellow progression of melody notes Bb, C, D and E. Then back to the 1st fret for FM7 and the melody notes of C, D, E and Eb (Abm7). Just sounds sweeter to my ear. If I play the first two chords as 4-note chords as shown, my melody notes become D, E, D and Bb (C7 on the 2nd fret). Maybe I just have an odd ear but playing all the chords in the first two bars as 3-note chords just sounds sweeter to me. That's what was throwing me off. It sounded like somehow you were playing the G on the 8th fret on the Bb6 and the melody notes were D, E, G and Bb. All good though. This is fun.
I like to sub the Abm7 for the D7b9 at the end of bar 4. Just an easier move for me from Am7 and also sounds a tiny bit more melancholy. Just a personal preference. Both sound good.
This will sound strange. At 1:02 in the second bar, your fingering and the chord chart looks like you're playing a 3 note chord Bb6 with D in the top. BUT....my ear hears the G on the 8th fret in the top. I've tried to duplicate your fingering but when I play the Bb6....but it sounds very different than what you are playing. Is my ear playing tricks on me?
Because it sounds like to me the top notes on the 1st 4 chords in bar 1 and 2 are D, E, G and Bb. But when I play it, I can't duplicate your sound.?????
Let me know if you have any questions. You can get the chart at my website, but please checkout my Patreon page for the real deep dive stuff. Andy

You're very welcome Mark.
Great work. Very well explained. Thanks.
Thanks 🙏
Very thourough analysis mate well done
Thanks!
That resolve to CMaj7 in the B section reminds me of the resolve to DMaj7 in the A section of Alone Together. Very cool sound!
It certainly is a nice moment in the progression.

Good work solving it Don!
Good analysis!

Thank you so much. This is excellent. Please tell me what guitar "gibson" you are playing?
Thank you.
Thanks - glad you like it. It’s a Gibson Super V. A combination of features of the L5 and Super 400.
This is a cool piece! Nice tutorial too! You always make it easy to follow along
Glad you think so!
useful, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Diana Krall version, with video, sultry, smooth and off the hook sick guitar support!
Agreed - lovely version.

It's definitely the 3 note chord Don. Looks like I'm using my other finger, but it's just floating.

That's the correct notes Don, have you got some accidental muting going on?
@@jazzguitarwithandy Maybe. I'll work on it.
