As a twisted bit of optimism, Disney only has so many movies left they can put that live action remake title onto before they have to actually make something new again.
Have they though? I could believe that if Disney hadn't already shown that it's completely willing to make a "live-action" movie with no humans as _The Lion King_ showed. So theoretically *every* cartoon Disney movie not yet done in live-action recently is fair game even if Disney doesn't just move on to doing live-action worsenings of Pixar movies or other properties their pseudo-monopoly has gobbled up (or will).
I just can't wait for there to be live-action, utterly corporate versions of _The Rescuers_ and _Up_ and _Wall-E_ that all somehow pander to China's current despotic regime. [/deepest sarcasm]

Same tbh. The worst part of Endgame for me was the part when ALL female characters stopped fighting alongside a lot of the male characters just to "pose up a storm" (-Tony Stark earlier in the film). The fate of the universe is at stake and they all stop fighting to stand still. They might as well put their hands in a circle and shout "GIRL POWER!". Its blatant pandering that does more harm than good.

Here it's just, "Ok all the characters are scattered out over the battle field, but hear me out. All of them teleport into one place to take a panerama shot, but only the girls! no boys allowed!" No matter what the "message" was, no matter if it was "Pandering" or not. It's bad cinematography and a immersion breaking moment in a really good movie, and it's a shame that they decided to keep it.

Captain marvel was just a, meh, character. The focus wasn't on making her an interesting character but rather to have a message in her movie, which is a shame. Because they could've made her into an interesting character with an interesting story and still kept the messages, just, you know been a little more subtle about it.

One of the saddest parts of this whole thing is that when the film was first announced with some of the changes, there was at least some hope that it could have been unique, or at least fun to watch, kind of like Maleficent. Then we found out more and the hope started to dissipate, then it released and, well, y'all know the rest.
Remember when the first live action Disney remakes like Cinderella and beauty and the beast started coming out and everyone loved those movies? And like 5% were Luke warm on those early ones and that percentage has just gotten higher and higher the more time goes on

@@jmat7057 I haven't watched Jungle Book but yeah I agree with BaTB. I like how Belle is more "angrier" (I forgot the word to describe her) when dealing with Gaston but it just doesn't make sense for her to be like that all the time and somehow became really sweet toward the Beast. Being super nice (like in the original) doesn't necessarily mean she's weak and that's why I kinda dislike the remake.
Cinderella is the most perfect remake they've ever done so far. It stays so true to the original but added more depths to the characters.
After the last of us 2 coming out, the whole world has a lesson to learn. don't believe big companies. It's literally like politics. They want your money and that's it. Remember from now on, they manipulate you by showing you other great pieces of media to make a rip off without even trying and stealing your money.

The actual directors of the games come up with all sorts of ideas for each new Disney-world and Disney, being the money worshiper they are, always shoot it down because it could “hurt their brand.” Its something the KH fandom is pretty salty about, so yet again, Disney butchering their own stuff.
I feel bad for anyone who still gets excited about Disney live action remakes. But also, why do people still get excited about them, and why does Disney still make them?

Nostalgia is a strong feeling. I’ll admit to feeling nostalgic heading the opening to The Lion King live action but I still criticized the movie to hell. Hell that nostalgia feeling helps me with that. Probably not a good thing as it makes me less open minded tbh but it’s better then blindly watching everything just because of the name attached to it.
I don't understand it either. My sisters are always going on and on about how "stunning" and "innovative" each remake is. They grew up with the originals, and have somehow concluded that the remakes are better in every possible way.

The funniest thing about the whole "serious, non-musical live-action movie" version of Mulan that Disney and insecure adults that equate dark/serious themes as mature and "cartoons that aren't adult are for babies" was touting as being this revolutionary concept... is that there was already a serious live-action remake of Mulan that wasn't a musical that existed ten years before the Disney remake! It's called Mulan: Rise of a Warrior and it was released in 2009. The cast and crew that worked on the movie are all Chinese, no involvement from Disney or really any white Hollywood person, it was made by Chinese people for Chinese people. And *it* actually *is* more grounded in reality (unlike what Disney claimed Mulan 2019/2020 would be before we found out about the magical Chi bs they put in their film). No musical numbers, no supernatural forces, no animal sidekicks, no pop hits or American tourists jokes. Mulan 2009 was made because (from what I heard at the time) people in China were not too happy with the whitewashing and token mysticism done to their culture and *national hero by Disney in their 1998 animated film. It's honestly worth more of a watch than Disney's Mulan 2020!
(*So I've heard conflicting opinions over the years about whether or not the legend of Hua Mulan has any legitimacy; basically the two camps are that Hua Mulan was an actual person, some claiming that Hua Mulan was an actual person while others claim the Hua Mulan legend was based off a real person but her name wasn't Hua Mulan. Johnny Appleseed was a real person. His real name is John Chapman and even during his life he was called "Johnny Appleseed". He really did travel around and plant apple trees. Parts of his life have been exaggerated and mythologized, but he did exist unlike the others you named.
I want to add something that you didn’t say. The villain in the original Mulan was not one person, but the entire Hun army. They were fighting a war not Shan Yu, but the live action movie made it seem like the only person they were fighting was Bori Khan, and that just ruins the whole tension of the movie. Because in the original Mulan, the tension was high, because they were fighting the Hun army, and it really felt like a war, but in the Live action Mulan, it felt like the only thing they worried about was Bori Khan and the witch! It completely ruined the experience.
That and the scene of the burnt village and the way they introduced it from 'A Girl Worth Fighting for' was so iconic to convey the loss and pain and mounting tension. It's so lost in this movie isn't it 🤧 but thank god we're not sheeple and not taking this shitty movie seriously

Sounds like what happened when they casted Rose Tico, only difference is that with Rose, they basically exploited her and only put her in the movie in the first place for damage control and to please those weirdos on Twitter that think that “diversity” is more important than making a compelling story and great characters, because the people at LucasFilm know that the writing in that trilogy has as much depth as the Shia LaBeouf Transformers movies, but unlike the first 3 Transformers movies, the new SW trilogy doesn’t even have much entertainment value to make up for the poor quality, so they basically said “Let’s shoehorn a token Asian character into this movie, so that every time someone calls out our inferior product, we can publicly insult you on social media and call you “sexist” and “racist”, which makes me feel even worse for Kelly Marie Tran, I may hate the character she played but she did not deserve anything that happened to her, on the other side of the coin, I have no sympathy for the actress who plays Mulan in this movie

These live-action remakes ARE basically the new direct-to-DVD sequels of this generation, but at least those had the decency to remain direct-to-video where they belonged, not in theaters and treated as anything to be taken seriously. Ugh.

There’s actually a far better live-action movie about Mulan that i watched in middle school, called “Mulan: Rise of a Warrior”. It was a whole lot more serious than both the 2020 film and the animated 1998 movie. It was a thousand times more realistic than either one. No “chi” stuff, no dragon or phoenix, just a film version about the legend of the woman who took her father’s place as a soldier, Hua Mulan.
From what I’ve seen, there are plenty of good reviews and from what the UA-cam Search Engine has showed me, there are a lot of people who find the 2009 film to be superior to the 2020 disney film, despite how different the 2009 film is to the 1998 animated film (Granted, that was the director, Jingle Ma’s, plan.)
It’s a movie for more mature audiences and has a LOT of blood and death. But if you want a look into what the live-action Mulan film should have REALLY looked like, I recommend giving Mulan: Rise of a Warrior a watch.
Also, make sure you have tissues on hand, just in case.

As someone who is learning hand animation in school I’m pissed about how little everyone thinks of it. Animation has given this world so much, it’s given Disney so much but for some reason people (despite how bad they are) keep thinking that live action is always better.

The OG Mulan is such a good movie and has such powerful themes. In this remake they literally stripped away the most important message in the OG. Mulan couldn't match the men in strength, but she was determined, and very smart. In the new movie, she has superpowers to be as good of a warrior....

Her recklessness got her into trouble, and she did have a sense of humor given her interrogation of Nick Fury. Regardless of how you think the CM movie is, she at least had MUCH more personality than live-action Mulan.
They are good at everything. Except for teamwork. Or thinking, instead of just fighting. Or maintaining their family relations. Or showing basic human emotion, especially joy, or mirth. Because these things are, y'know, WEAK, and apparently sexist. (Especially girls smiling. The nerve!)

I can't forgive the movie for a simple reason: they completely removed the moment when Mulan cut her hair. The most significant, impactful moment of the original, and it's *gone.* It was so emotional and full of symbolism! Mulan didn't even get a haircut here - just to have her long hair blow in the wind. How shallow is that??

It is real funny how - when the live-action remake of Mulan removes the comical animal sidekicks and mystical elements of the original Mulan, and even changes the last names (which come first in Chinese) of Fa Mulan and Shan Yu, it feels like a much different, more dramatic movie from Mulan that probably would have been more tolerable if it was its own Chinese war movie about something completely different from the animated Chinese war movie that it was remaking. Remember how Mulan was such a bad soldier that her commander legit told her to leave? At night? Like, "you're such a lost cause, I want you to leave this camp and skip all the formalities and bureaucracy that would keep you here longer. Get out." Remember that?
And then, after being told to leave, she decided to stay and not only work harder to prove herself, but also figure out the lesson the arrow at the top of the pole was supposed to teach? The soldiers were tasked with reaching the arrow, but they had two weights on their arms, and Mulan figured out that she needed to _use_ the weights to reach the arrow, not just have them weigh her down.
Remember how powerful a moment that was?
Imagine that happening with magic chi powers. Using inner strength, determination, and discipline to reach your goals? Nah, if you want to achieve things, you need magic powers.

*How to make this Movie better:*
*This is for YOU Disney*
-For one, get a different actress who knows how to make facial expressions. Like come one this chick was as bland as a piece of bread.
-Get rid of the phoenix. There was no purpose for that bird other than to have a colorful thing for the children to stare at.
-The shapeshifting witch could be made a male, and his form? A small dragon. And change to purpose, like have the now male shapeshifter go along with Mulan to, I don't know, prove that he's worthy of being a guardian?
-The chi can stay as well, but have it where she STOPS using it; mostly in order to blend in with the rest of the troops. And towards the end have it where she loses this ability and uses everything she learned in the camp against the antagonist.
-Speaking of the antagonist, get someone who gives off a more intimidating vibe. Like scars doesn't make a person scary; the VIBE they give off does. Find a big intimidating male actor who could at least resemble the Hun commander; THAT guy was friggin terrifying.
-Keep Li Shang in the movie. Just because he's a general doesn't mean he and Mulan can't be together. He was actually the reason as to why Mulan grew stronger; him constantly giving her a disapproving look along with literally telling her to leave because she was weak was the pushing point for her to get stronger.
-Keep the friends she had in the animated movie. The three of them were also a pushing point; just solely on the fact that they were the first three she actually met and mainly socialized with. The ones Disney replaced them with are not memorable and in the words of Dr. Nefario: 'Lame.'
-The dark tone can remain; but at least put some light hearted moments in it that means something; like how they remained silent when walking through the burned village.
-Get rid of that god awful scene where Mulan over powers a soldier. That scene was reeking so much of feminism and women empowerment I nearly puked.
If all of this is done the movie would've been great Disney. But no instead you guys wanted to make one group happy and now you guys are scratching your head and wondering why everyone is calling your movie a piece of literal trash.

Mulan is a movie made by Disney about Chinese culture, with a Chinese protagonist, with a Chinese location: made by a bunch of white people

Those were made to PLEASE Chinese people? I thought I heard people complaining about how the design department did little to no research on the culture and got costumes, colors, patterns and customs all wrong and the whole movie is just a jumbled mix of different eras and dynasties without picking a single spot to base their references from.

For me, the Aladdin remake was kinda mediocre for me. My friend loves it and once said on this channel that it was her favorite remake, but for me, they kind of ruined a lot of stuff. Especially the villain, he was really cool and threatening in the original, but they made him so bland and awful in the remake, and he didn't even get to turn into a snake and sing an evil version of Prince Ali. Also, they unnecessarily put in a girl power song for Jasmine... not saying Speechless is bad as a song but... though I will admit, it IS one of the better remakes I've seen, and at least it's got an awesome version of the Genie. I really like how Will puts his own talent and flavor into the new one, just like with Robin in the original!~

Mulan at matchmaker
In cartoon: Writes answers on her arm in ink which the matchmaker touches and then spreads on her face to look like a beard. Which also causes her to spill tea on the table.
Brings her cricket friend who causes her to pull the hot tea back from the matchmaker. Not only disobeying the matchmaker, but spilling tea on her.
The tickling that cri-kee causes the matchmaker causes the matchmaker to fall into the coal pit. Mulan trying to help and not really thinking, fans it and creates fire.
She then tosses tea onto the matchmaker, making the situation even worse. Smearing her makeup/ink beard and literally messing the entire thing up, embarrassing the matchmaker and herself in the process in front of the entire town.
In live action: Sister sees a spider and freaks out.
Horrible CGI spider randomly decides to jump at the matchmaker, because clearly the spider wants to get Mulan in trouble.
Everything flies everywhere, and in a cool way Mulan catches the tea set.
Then her hair falls down and she gets blamed for...the spider? For not being ladylike??
OMG THE MUSIC IS FROM WIZARD101!!!! I MISS THAT GAME SO MUCH!! 😭
