Streets of Rage 3, known in Japan as Bare Knuckle III (ベア・ナックルIII Bea Nakkuru Surī), is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed and published by Sega in 1994 for the Sega Genesis. It is the third and to-date, final installment of the Streets of Rage series.

8-Beats VGM the cycle 2 remix doesn't repeat the main melody enough imo.
I love the intro to cycle 1 though
in fact can I request a remix of just the first 25 seconds of Cycle 1? that part is the best
I love disco theme lol
I'm on my 1st listen, just approaching the end of 'Fuze', and my nuts are already blown off.
Disco club 🔥
This is just what the SoR 3 OST needed, mixing it like this brings out the best of each song and shows how well made they actually are (which may not be apparent on first glance (or listen)) imho.
It's an awesome work done on genesis hardware for sure, thanks!
My Boy Murdered the Intro to “Spin Machine” and “Dub Slash”♥️🔥💯
Omg yes he did!!!!!
This soundtrack was already incredible! But you? …You polished it beyond expectations! Bulldozer especially sounds amazing! And that’s my favourite from the original! The buildup makes it feel like you slowly hear the engine coming towards you and eventually seeing it approach, making you run for safety!
Thank you!! ❤
An excellent *Dub Slash* 👍
Preserving the menacing vibe of the original.
I believe what turned off a lot of people to SoR 3's tunes back when it released was the dark and experimental tone, versus, say, SoR 2's more digestible breakbeat/housey arrangements.
Although we still had some very hard bangers on SoR 2 that clearly showed Koshiro and Kawashima escaping 90s 'pop EDM' radio influences and carve out their own contemporary electronic sound. They just got very tinkery for SoR 3, with the procedural FM tracker introduced to the workflow.
The game itself became more experimental as well, with different meters, attack mechanics, and movement. Kawashima, imo, produces some of the better SoR 3 tracks - which coincidentally resemble SoR 2's instrumentation/arrangements the most. His gems on SoR 2 like Expander really demonstrate his style and superb grasp of the soundchip's dichotomy of FM clarity and grittiness, acid-friendly, deep low ends, truly robust future-proofed synth choices, and his stereo mixing was always spot on. His best work on the two games often has an incredibly 'huge' sound. Play a good quality version of Expander or one of the Poets for a current-day electronic music fan, and tell them the hardware spec it was produced for, and what year it came out - usually it gets mad respect.
As it should.
We can still appreciate the brilliance of these tracks decades later, and in some cases recognize the genius we once misunderstood. The best, most enduring music is always begging to be rediscovered with more trained/experienced/open-minded ears, for further joy.
Agreed. Thank you for taking your time with this great reply!
@@8BeatsVGM A pleasure. Thank you for the fine remixes and expanded mixes!
@@8BeatsVGM this turns up the heat great work mate👍
I wish there was a nightclub that played this kind of music. I barely enjoy my time in such places (mostly cause of bad music) but this could change it all :D ;)
Agreed
Tokyo maybe has a nightclub
That's because this is like 90s techno it's much better.
I love SOR1+2 soundtracks and I've tried for years to get into SOR3 and just couldn't appreciate it's scattered production. This extended mix has got me there I think, more time to sync in with each groove. Thanks a lot for putting it together! There are some absolute gems in here that are given proper time to breathe. Love it!
Thank you very much for putting your attention on this. Kind regards!
Although this game is nearly 30 years old one of best soundtracks ever made, nothing better then beating the crap out of SOR3 thugs in tune to 90's 8bit rave.
agreed
agreed
Ain't that 16 bit rave?
It's 16 bit kid your being disrespectful
Man, the bass line in cycle 1 makes me jump like crazy these fm sounds are crazy for a 16-bit fm chip
Dude, you've surpassed even the authors themselves. Since such things are happening and as you can see, the reviews of your work are simply stunning, I think I will not be alone and express the desire of the entire audience - Now you just have to create a rework with modern pure sound (I think you understand what I mean, for example, like many works from SORR). It's just that your vision of the material exceeds everything that is currently presented by several orders of magnitude. You clearly understand the track and clearly understand how it can be supplemented without spoiling or losing the thread. I just imagine what you could do!
24:48 is the best part of the whole record just speaking straight facts I remember playing this all the time and would stay there for hours and just listen to it and my dad would get mad*
мне тоже нравится!
This level was insane, the light effects were insane as well! Love it too 👍❤️
All the build ups sound so good. It would be perfect for sor4 retro ost.
Wrong.. and don't bring that shit into this masterpiece.
I think the biggest problem was that the choices were just kind of weird, although a proper reworking of the songs would've been awesome too
@@lovelywolfgamer7832 If you dont like Sor3, why even listen to it?
@@futabamajima And if you talking about the retro tracks that got selected on the stages in Sor4 for example; the Sor1 mastersystem ending theme on stage 9, yes it is weird.
@@SuperVada I didn't say nothing about sor2 ya stupid.. I said don't bring that sor4 shit to this masterpiece (sor3) understand ?
Fuze is crazy good !!!!!
Vamp ليون best theme along with character select
@@professorboltzmann5709 what about Dub Slash?
@@professorboltzmann5709 right !!
@@sebastiann.8088 I love that one, Boss and Inga Rasen
People so wrongfully shit on this game's soundtrack, man. I used to be one of them in fact. Back when I hated it, it was because going from SOR1+2's fucking BANGIN' soundtracks to SOR3's was jarring and seemed very abstract and noisy. Coming back to it in recent years, however, I think it's great. The first two SOR OSTs are meant to pump you up and get you bashing heads in with the rhythm of the dope-ass tracks they touted while you bash your own fucking head in sheer audio ecstacy. Streets of Rage 3's soundtrack is more like a movie soundtrack in that it helps set the tone for what's going on in the game at the time. Like Fuze for example...
From the moment you hit the pavement, ready to wreck some thugs, the song assaults you with a sense of seriousness, panic and has a sort of dire, frantic tone to it. The moment you actually start playing, it instantly lets you know that "this is going to be a very different game" and the tone of the song/s fit perfectly with the tone of the story and I mean Bare Knuckle 3's story, not whatever the hell you call SOR3's tale of randomness and nonsense. The stakes are so fucking high this time around and the game does a good job of conveying that. SOR1 was like "Mr. X has a huge gang that runs the streets, does bad things, beat people up and nobody is safe and they probably sell drugs to kids or something" and SOR2 is "SHIT SHIT SHIT FUCK FUCK FUCK that big bad gang leader with the machine gun we smoked last year is fucking alive and well somehow and up to his old tricks of breaking every single law to get rich and also he kidnapped fucking Adam! Let's go whoop his ass again!"
Brawlers totally don't need deep storylines and SOR1+2's storylines were always good enough for me but then here comes STREETS OF FUCKING RAGE FUCKING THREEE...
"Oh god oh fuck we should have made sure he was FUCKING dead because somehow he's back AGAIN and he fucking NUKED A POPULATED CITY and wiped out dozens of thousands and he's trying to do it again! Also he's gonna send entire countries into nuclear war and probably fuck up the whole world. This time... this time we HAVE TO FUCKING STOP HIM. We have to actually whoop his ass DEAD and save the world from nuclear fire."
So yeah, long, long story short... in my opinion the SOR3 soundtrack is great at what it does and that's setting the mood for events the players experience. It also has a FEW bangers. No matter what there will be at least ONE song that pumps you up and all the others help put you in the right frame of mind.
It is one of the best hardcore techno albums I've heard in a video game. Igna Rasen just blows my mind.
24:28 the only one!!!!!!!!
bogosse mathurin FACTS MY GUYYYYYY
Naw its about the poets 1. Listen to it.
@@supereverman Poets I is the best one on here lol
The Build up to DISCO IS DOOOPPPPEEEE
54:48 Shinobi Reverse, my very favourite Streets of Rage song ever!!
You didn't need to go that hard on the first track but you did. And I appreciate you for it.
Damn I wish Spinning Machine was in Sor4. Btw might as well change the describe since Sor4 is out.
This is sheer gold. I hope more of these full remixes are on the way!
Your job is so amazing man. I love the Streets of Rage 3 soundtrack and your remix. Congratulations ^^
thank you very much for your comment, man...enjoy!!
@@8BeatsVGM I have a suggestion. The music of first mission of the adventure of Batman and robin (boss part Harly Quinn) will be nice for remixing.
Why isn't this soundtrack in SOR4? Amazing
AGREED !!!
Well for starters many complained about the soundtrack when it first came out. I wish he expended on this kinda sound, maybe he would if he got to develop part 5.
Probably because a lot of people don't like the SOR 3 soundtrack for some reason. Not sure why, it's my favorite OST of the series.
@@unshackledmind7863 agreed, you notice how SOR4 sounds like a Diet version of 3
Be nice if they put it in for DLC.
This is one of the BEST OSTs of the Sega Mega Drive! Love it! :)
I was such an avid listener of SOR3 OST, but after listening to this for a couple of weeks, I feel like the original songs were cropped versions of your extended versions! Totally Love it! Keep up the good work! Many thanks
thank you very much!!
that's exactly what it feels like. I've always listened to the sor3 soundtrack, but now after listening to this. It sounds like a remastered version, or a version that would be put on newer systems. Since the sega hardware was limited on sound options.
13:18 The play on this bit was so Hard bruh😩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cycle I [12" mix] 10:44 and definitely Shinobi Reverse [12" mix] 54:49 FTW! Was my favorite tracks out of the whole game! Nice mix! 🔥💯
This is so amazing. Still waiting for techno interpretations of this tracks. They are from another world. Especially: Shinobi Reversed, Boss, Happy Paradise AND CRAZY TRAIN (my crazy favorite)
Thank you so much for posting this ! greetings from germany
thank you for listening!!
Even your genius decided to leave the original beat ambiance alone
Re-escutando e lembrei Essa versão do Mr. X! É absurdamente boa.
queria muito em um video separado
Holy shit the poets 1 and 2 Sounds amazing!!!!
Michael Rivera I thought you hated the soundtrack to this game
why is every fucking intro to every song so fucking juicy in this remix
Man the soundtrack was already great but you turned even the songs I didn't love into straight bangers. I was looking for music to do homework to but I just get distracted by how good the mix is
Im really glad, thank you very much, man!
Still bumping this in 2023!!!
This slaps so hard!! 🔥🔥🔥
"Boss" and" Reverse Shinobi" my favorite here
I think I may have said this before but these mixes are savage.
Loving this version of Bulldozer, Shinobi Reverse and Boss especially. Nice work, and keep it up!
Yuzo Koshiro e Motohiro Kawashima ficariam orgulhosos sem sombra de dúvida!
Corona got me here... After hearing that remix i brought out ma old genesis and played some rounds SOR 2+3. Ahh such a nice action packed game.
You got streets of rage 4 yet?
These mixes are incredible, you brought out the best points of the originals.
thank you!
Odwaliłeś kawalek cholernie dobrej roboty bracie. Czapki z głów. Dziękuję
That Shinobi Reverese was extreme, spin that at a club.
Makes the original ost sound so vanilla and unimaginative. The arrangement here is more club and akin to SoR2
thank you!
when i buy the Inga Rasen [12" mix] vinyl!! awesome track!!
A official vinyl release? It would be awesome! 👌👌
You went hard on that intro for the Mr. X theme friggin love it
right !!! especially when the beat stop, and it picked up again after a few seconds
no matter what this is amazing ,but if you grew up playing this game, its even that much better. You really did this ost justice. Thanks
Indeed
1:47:14 is always my favorite to hear. Masked a good fight scene with 1.25 speed
da best remix of sor 3 or bk 3 so far
Pretty sweet. Nice to hear very faithful remixes of a really strong soundtrack. Consider this a like and a subscribe.
Be welcome!
Nice. Great sample work here
One day I'd like to see more freedom in regards to the melody remixes keeping the same instrumentation and keeping the same style of original tunes.
Incredible. This must have been tons of work. Thank you!!
I would absolutely love to get proper downloads of these 12" Remixes. They are so quality.
thank you!

34:19 Police Chase music by Yuzo Korshiro
I love this version of Inga Rasen as much as the original, amazing work
nice touch having it start with 'spinning machine' and there is a spinning vinyl to go with it.
Bulldozer 39:11 really stands out
thank you!
I love the Boss's soundtrack.
The Poets I 1:18:15 is my favorite theme if you put on play speed 1.5x
LOVE the mix on Boss! 👊🏻
And Shinobi Reverse is insane.
Dude, you’re talented as hell. Keep up the amazing work!
This is amazing. I keep listeting to this every evening while gaming.

Thanks again for making this mix, love this soundtrack
I would love it if some one makes the SOR Remake stages longer with these tracks 😍😍😍🥇8 beats vgm you're the winner 🏆✨🙏🏽 Thank you I'm so happy each time listening these 😍🎧
thanks, glad you like it!
I can remember how much I really hated this soundtrack back in 1994. Nowadays, it's the best in the series imho! Your extended mixes are awesome man. It's near perfect in every sense, because I can hear the Yamaha, the PSG and the Z80 seperately and completely clear without distortion. Just great! Did you capture the track lines directly from the model 1 Genesis?
No...i did this through emulation but its a loyal sound. Thank you for your comment, glad you like it!
@@8BeatsVGM Absolutely loyal! :-) You're welcome!
Can someone explain to an audio student wtf these gentleman just said.

Anyway to download this album in a 24-bit FLAC format? :D Would love to have this stored on my hard drive so I can access this easily.
Hah. Probably wasn't even uploaded in FLAC format.. Though I'm sure there's probably a master WAV file out there somewhere, probably a gig in size easy.

amazing remixes! you really need to know the soundtrack inside and out to know how to bring out the best parts
Exactly! thank you for listening!
This is awesome
Omg i was just imaging how sor1 2 3 soundtrack will sound if you put all of the ost together but connect them all and at the end of it it continues on. Also i was beat boxing to sor3 ost Mona Lisa while i was playing sor4 when i was fighting Beo & Ria on stage 8.

1:47:14 is the best track mix here
Do Streets of Rage 4 next!
im really curious how you managed to get isolated stems for each track
he didnt
He remade it all. Or got the midi
@@duckking4815 Sorry, but I can hardly believe that when it's so easy to open up a MOD file containing the game's music in a MOD player and record the music while disabling individual sound channels.
It's easy, he recorded each track individually from a VGM player. That's one cool thing with chip tunes, you can isolate each track if you play them with a player that emulates the console's sound chip.
@@TheZmusicGroup is it possible to steal the fm patch and see how it's made?
Hell yeah!
Yeah! About time! :D
Disco beat at 28 is the best imo
Would you ever consider doing Spider-Man Separation Anxiety or Maximum Carnage?
I like it, i actually have done stage 2 track
8-Beats VGM nice bro. Heart of the City, Dangerous forest, and Maximum Carnage main theme are the most I’d love to see remixed
Woah!!!! Project 12!!!!!
