- Went beach fishing in Panama and caught a giant fish! Went with my striped bass/redfish gear on a spinning reel and threw a swimbait from the surf for a fish of a lifetime after touring the village of Jaque and Biroquiera.

Nice video , man! Btw the fish in 11:10 is a Leatherjacket (Oligoplites saurus). You need to be aware of its spikes as they are venomous!

What a vid...ty! my face muscles are aching from the constant smile watching that catch..sounds corny but true..THe water there looks fantastic...going every which way, and a lot of it out there...no breaks til 20 ft away from you I estimate. The good ol' "hole"...,😁
BTW..we took one of those small planes in Belize, to Ambergris Caye...they seat people according to size to distribute weight...I'm rather large...my wife was put next to pilot, and I was in the bask on the right...hilarious.

Awesome fish Elias. I went to Costa Rica in January and was amazed at the number of fish we caught and how big they were.
Went to Panama in 2021 , went to a resort called Decameron and was casting metal spoons in the surf , caught what looks like some type of Leather Jack, also used sand fleas and caught multiple species of fish! I speak Spanish so i got help from the locals on how to fish the surf.
Sand fleas! Good tip. What they catch there??
@@EliasVFishing so the names i was told were in Spanish so i cant really translate, i can however say there was plenty of fish that resembled pin fish , catfish and some type of pearch I believe. I tried shrimp at first and got no type of bite , once i asked a local he lwent to the edge of water and scooped up some giant sand fleas from the sand , after that i started catching fish, biggest one was the Jack on the spoon. i have a picture but haven’t got a identification on it yet!
That is awesome dude! Wish I had gotten into saltwater fishing before I traveled to Central America back in the day. As it was, I still had snook in Belize that the best dish I’ve ever eaten. Safe travels, enjoy!
