@@mothridith9760 Ice is less dense than water, so the displacement is taking place because there's less room for liquid oceans. Water cannot compact itself very easily in terms of becoming more dense, so when the colder areas freeze more, the rest of the liquid oceans cannot force themselves under the frozen water on top, water just won't do that, it would need hundreds of times the pressure at the surface...therefore the density below the frozen areas, is being displaced from underneath the frozen surfaces to the remainder of the unfrozen ocean
As a challenge for you Gray, find a way to make every planet livable without changing their position. (For an added challenge, No tampering of the Sun.....you can if you wish to though). Gray: decreases the temperature of the Sun so a half of Earth is covered with ice Russia: no canceling school classes, guys, it's like only -50°C outside
9:39 Venus won't be habitable no matter the temperature, due to the atmosphere density meaning the air will literally crush you. You could change its atmosphere out for the Earth atmosphere preset though, and it would cool down a LOT.

Would be interesting to see a video like this dropping the temp down and then at the very end setting it back to normal and seeing how earth handles the rapid change all at once
13:20 - Lake Victoria is literally on the equator. So this should be the last freshwater lake. Not sure how the salt water oceans appear to be covered with ice before the lake freezes though - maybe someone more knowledgeable can explain that one.
My best guess is the sea level is rising due to the falling level of atmospheric temperature. Less heat = less evaporation, less evaporation = less humidity. Since humidity is a measure of water in the air, as it drops and the water condenses, or becomes its liquid form, it begins filling into the water level
Thanks for making universe sandbox videos again 😁 Meanwhile on earth: Nasa has discovered that the Sun gets colder every day and it gets colder on earth. Climate change has officially stopped
I'm not surprised such small changes in the sun's surface temperature had a big effect on earth. Given that a change in just 1 or 2 degrees hotter could have drastic effects on the planet, as we are seeing unfold irl
Fun fact. It’s speculated that even if the sun suddenly disappeared and the earth flew off into space. There would still be life because of thermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. The animals and microbes down there don’t use the sun already so they’d be able to continue on living for generations to come without knowing anything changed. At least until the core cools down and the vents stop, or the small chance earth hits something else bigger then it
I think the temperature seems inconsistent on Earth because of the seasons. Like how you lowered the temperature of the sun and somehow got a higher max temperature on Earth. Likely it is because the earth is just closer to the sun anyway
It was very nice of you to make sure we had somewhere to stay on Venus while you slowly froze Earth, Gray! Even if you didn't change anything about the heavily-toxic atmosphere. XD
"Someone out there in Canada is probably like 'yeah, that's a normal Tuesday." It can be, in some areas. Last winter, here in Southern Ontario, the temperature went down to about -24°F with the windchill at night for a couple of nights.
If this game was 100% accurate to the Real World's physics and would behave precisely the same way as if it were to happen IRL. Gray could be considered educational and paid a heck of a lot more.

I doubt it would actually be that cold with a change of a few degrees. Also, the average temperature on Earth in the universe sandbox is 7 degrees, which is 8 degrees colder than Earth in real life.
Actually, my guess as to why the temp goes up at one point is likely due to reflected light from the added snow/ice on the planet pushing heat back up into the atmosphere. Mass Solar farms do the same thing, they reflect back up into the atmosphere heat that 'would' have been absorbed by the ground.
I'm surpised that even such a small temperature difference from the ENTIRE SUN, was enough to already start freezing earth over. Small temperature differences mean A LOT. That was just the start of the video.
