hehehe that's why my eyes are always creepily looking toward the camera... as long as it can see my eyes, it keeps focus. I sometimes try looking away so as not to freak out everybody watching, but then it loses focus! :-D
They just re-did the formulation on this foundation... I had seen it in the past but it just caught my attention, I luv the new formula! I’m 45, I’ve taken excellent care of my skin so no wrinkles thus far but hey preventative skin care is never a bad thing! The 1st shade I got is too light... So yesterday I just picked up Natural beige now hopefully it’s not too dark! The Younique brush cleaner is amazing! 1 spray and cleans your brush out it’s very effective. Good review, just an observation as it’s your face of course but I think that a nose stud would look much cuter on you! I have mine pierced too....I leave the hoops for the 20 somethings lol again just my opinion! Have a nice day & check out the new formula!

Ok, shelly. I made a walmart run tonight, and I picked this up on your recommendation. I picked up the physician's formula highlighter also on your recommendation. :) I also grabbed the butter bronzer. I had not ever gotten it! And I picked up a new Revlon sponge. I still love that sponge!!! I'll try everything tomorrow!! :D
Geek Out of Water I think that's the loreal sponge? The Revlon sponge is the really weird shaped red one.....kind of long and skinny....looks like it would be terrible, but I love it for some reason. I'll let you know how they perform!!

As a ghostly pale person the lightest shade is too dark but the foundation was great for my skin. It isn't new unless they reformulated it in the last few months. Love your reviews. Ivory being too dark for you makes me not feel so pale lol
Wow your eyes are so beautiful in the sunlight! This foundation is about 2-3 shades to dark for me. But I have mixed it but I feel that takes away from its smoothing effects.

BH has Galaxy Chic and Supernova palettes that are very similar themes as in they both have all their shades named after celestial bodies. I have the Supernova palette. I looked at their website while typing this and oooh I want the Modern Mattes palette! I still want the Zodiac palette too.

Secondly, I don't know if it was the foundation or the new powder or what but your under eyes looked amazing. The past few foundation videos I felt like your fine lines were coming out to play but man oh man tonight they looked so smooth. Thirdly, in every video when you cam in on your eyes I'm mesmerized. Whoever invents that setting spray will make a fortune from me! So many things oxidize on me... whatever it is about my body chemistry. $39 for the StriVectin primer. I had a points promo on it from Ulta when I first bought it, but it will sting a bit more when I need to restock! It's going to go quick, too, because I'm putting it on the backs of my hands as well as my face :P

Great review, it looked pretty darn good by the end of the day. Have you checked out Coastal Scent's eyeshadow. They have single hot pots and several pallets. Very Wallet Friendly. The singles are $1.98 sometimes they go on sale for .98
I love Coastal Scents shadows!! I need to find a better way to store them to use them more often. My z-palettes are all stashed away where I forget about them. I buy them every year when they have that 98 cent sale :)

My 2 favorites for blurring are - my old fave, the Benefit PoreFessional, and my new fave (even more because it's got great skin care ingredients too) this new StriVectin Line BlurFector primer. I've used the Dr Brandt primers too and they're OK (Pores No More) but I like this StriVectin better.
I love Cinema Secrets. I really like it on my eyeshadow brushes. Sometimes it turns my brushes blue. I love your eyeshadow. I've heard nothing good about that Peacock Flair mascara.
Holy oxidation, Batman! "Ivory - it's the new orange!" I admire you because when I have a foundation that doesn't match, I take it off but I also have short hair so I have no way to hide a bad shade. I find it funny that every line of foundation in Covergirl has different shade ranges - none of which are consistent, lol. Have you ever tried Glo Minerals - used to be called Luxe?

I haven't attempted a CG foundation in donkeys years, but from memory I have better luck with them than with Maybelline foundations - OMG do they look bad on me, I've never found a Maybelline foundation that looks even halfway decent on my skin. Which is funny coz I love, love, love their Age Rewind Concealer.

I was a bit surprised by this foundation. I think you may be right in that the Olay ingredient may be helping to keep the foundation smooth. And I guess if it didn't oxidize, it wouldn't be Cover Girl! Lol! Although this formula was not near as bad as the Vitilist Healthy Elixir. You could probably wear this one as the weather gets warmer and your self tanning is in full swing. :)
*I have a video idea.* Since all of us here are probably “pale princesses”, it’s a fairly good guess that we each have a TON of white mixers in our collections. It’s the curse of being too fair. 😂 Q: What foundations do you like well enough to put up with the oxidization/too dark of a shade and would take the extra time to use a white mixer in order to make it properly work for you? {Including how much of each color it would take to make it a (near) perfect match}. No one seems to go back through their foundations after the initial review video. If they show that they are too dark/oxidize, but really liked the formula overall, we never usually see that product again. I’m sure they don’t get returned? Like this formula.... You really liked nearly everything about it, but it eventually oxidized into a shade that’s too dark for you. Plus there’s no shade lighter to even buy to salvage it. Instead of all of these “nearly fabulous” foundations sitting unloved on a shelf, let’s try to use them up in 2018. I know that I have close to 75 foundations - and only a handful or two are my *exact skin tone* straight out of the bottle. ...Just a thought!!... 🤷🏼♀️ As always, hope you’re doing well and I love your videos. This is a great idea, Lexi! I tend to get lazy with mixing, since I have shades I do like straight away. There are some I'll put the work into - like I tried my doggonedest to get the Milk foundation to work on me (though that was more of a product combo issue than a shade issue - I love the color). Never did get it to perform much better. I've been working on the Physicians Formula Healthy foundation because the finish is so pretty - and I can get it not to oxidize if I skip SPF... but I never skip SPF so that's not viable except for maybe doing a full face to film a video at night or something. I like the ingredient deck on this one so it's worth making it work!
Color is spot on!!! Hmm I haven’t seen this foundation around.... looks good!!! Girl when I wash my face and it’s puffy, I’ll massage the face with my oil lotion mix and pay special attention to the sinuses, and eyes, then grab a piece of ice and massage that area. Wait 10 minutes and do that makeup! My husband makes fun of my puffy face and is like she needs ice and oil stat!!! Hahahaha. Ooooo I love the look of your skin! I don’t know if it’s you new regime or the natural skin care. I believe your using 2 different brands. Wow! You skin look marvelous! Maybe this is a one base, better than skin... if you think it’s caked, but girl it look good at 10 hours!!!! Hmmm if I can get a good 8 hours I’m happy but at 10 it’s not bad at all! Jinx. Hahaha as I wrote that you said, it’s not bad at all. I’m such a nerd 🤓 😂 I’m worried it may be to dark for me. I haven’t had good luck with covergirl either. Thanks for the review! LOL great minds!!! :-D If it is a reformulation and not just a repackaging, maybe they will add some shades - because this shade number is higher up and they do have other ones in different lines that go down to a shade 100. So maybe they will add some shades? I'm guessing it's a reformulation based on the change in the SPF number.
With all due respect, you put on WAY too much!! Did you seriously use almost two whole pumps of this foundation? It's too heavy a texture for that! Also, I find this type of foundation blends better with fingers because of the warmth of your skin. You should also blend down more onto the neck, IMO.

For each of my 130+ foundation reviews, I start with the same amount of product. If a foundation requires more or less (or with a different application method), I update that information in a foundation follow-up video. The only way to accurately compare one foundation to the next is to standardize the application procedure, which is why every one of my foundation videos uses exactly the same process, application methods, and product amounts. My neck breaks out from skin care and foundation products applied to it, so I do not blend down my neck. It would look nicer color-wise, except for all of the bumps and spots. I'd rather not break out, mismatched as it may be.

Age Rewind has become my go-to drugstore concealer - which is funny because I really didn’t like it when I first got it. Now I love it!
Well I guess it’s fine that there’s not a lighter shade (I’m the color of school glue). I can’t wear anything liquid or cream from Cover Girl. It burns the mess out of my face. But I’m looking forward to the rest of the week!!

Geek Out of Water l picked up the age rewind in ivory last night, the fit me loose powder in fair and the physicians formula butter bronzer highlighter in pearl based on your reviews. I also picked up two new eyeliners to test out. But just got a call from the pc repair place and my motherboard is fried ☹️
Foundation looks good but I struggle with the same problem so hard to find light enough shades and oxidation is annoying . Could u do a review on covergirl ageless with olay the cream version ?

I was a bit surprised by this foundation. I think you may be right in that the Olay ingredient may be helping to keep the foundation smooth. And I guess if it didn't oxidize, it wouldn't be Cover Girl! Lol! Although this formula was not near as bad as the Vitilist Healthy Elixir. You could probably wear this one as the weather gets warmer and your self tanning is in full swing. :)
LOL true - I wouldn't know what to do with a CG foundation that didn't oxidize on me :-D This one should definitely work for summer though!
Does the strivectin primer just smooth the lines out while you're wearing it or does it actually reduce lines over time?

Since all of us here are probably “pale princesses”, it’s a fairly good guess that we each have a TON of white mixers in our collections. It’s the curse of being too fair. 😂
Q: What foundations do you like well enough to put up with the oxidization/too dark of a shade and would take the extra time to use a white mixer in order to make it properly work for you? {Including how much of each color it would take to make it a (near) perfect match}.
No one seems to go back through their foundations after the initial review video. If they show that they are too dark/oxidize, but really liked the formula overall, we never usually see that product again. I’m sure they don’t get returned?
Like this formula.... You really liked nearly everything about it, but it eventually oxidized into a shade that’s too dark for you. Plus there’s no shade lighter to even buy to salvage it.
Instead of all of these “nearly fabulous” foundations sitting unloved on a shelf, let’s try to use them up in 2018. I know that I have close to 75 foundations - and only a handful or two are my *exact skin tone* straight out of the bottle.

This is a great idea, Lexi! I tend to get lazy with mixing, since I have shades I do like straight away. There are some I'll put the work into - like I tried my doggonedest to get the Milk foundation to work on me (though that was more of a product combo issue than a shade issue - I love the color). Never did get it to perform much better. I've been working on the Physicians Formula Healthy foundation because the finish is so pretty - and I can get it not to oxidize if I skip SPF... but I never skip SPF so that's not viable except for maybe doing a full face to film a video at night or something. I like the ingredient deck on this one so it's worth making it work!
Shelly, have you tried the original L’Oreal True Match? If not, could you? Or share your thoughts if you’ve tried it before?

Color is spot on!!! Hmm I haven’t seen this foundation around.... looks good!!! Girl when I wash my face and it’s puffy, I’ll massage the face with my oil lotion mix and pay special attention to the sinuses, and eyes, then grab a piece of ice and massage that area. Wait 10 minutes and do that makeup! My husband makes fun of my puffy face and is like she needs ice and oil stat!!! Hahahaha.

Maybe this is a one base, better than skin... if you think it’s caked, but girl it look good at 10 hours!!!! Hmmm if I can get a good 8 hours I’m happy but at 10 it’s not bad at all! Jinx. Hahaha as I wrote that you said, it’s not bad at all. I’m such a nerd 🤓 😂

LOL great minds!!! :-D If it is a reformulation and not just a repackaging, maybe they will add some shades - because this shade number is higher up and they do have other ones in different lines that go down to a shade 100. So maybe they will add some shades? I'm guessing it's a reformulation based on the change in the SPF number.
With all due respect, you put on WAY too much!! Did you seriously use almost two whole pumps of this foundation? It's too heavy a texture for that! Also, I find this type of foundation blends better with fingers because of the warmth of your skin. You should also blend down more onto the neck, IMO.
Thanks, Samantha! This one wears really well on me with 2 pumps (it was a B+ in this first impressions review, and I like it as much now having used it more). For each of my 130+ foundation reviews, I start with the same amount of product. If a foundation requires more or less (or with a different application method), I update that information in a foundation follow-up video. The only way to accurately compare one foundation to the next is to standardize the application procedure, which is why every one of my foundation videos uses exactly the same process, application methods, and product amounts. My neck breaks out from skin care and foundation products applied to it, so I do not blend down my neck. It would look nicer color-wise, except for all of the bumps and spots. I'd rather not break out, mismatched as it may be.

hi, shelly! i had to laugh about the taking 5 years off by using this - some time ago i read an article that was 10 ways to take 10 lbs off your appearance. i thought - wow, what if i do all 10. lol! according to makeyupalley they have reviews going back to 2015 but i have never seen it before either. looked really good on you, sorry it did oxidize a little bit but not too much, i may give this a try as i'm not as fair as you are. looking forward to tomorrow. p.s. do not know if you coupon or not but on coupons.com right now there is a cover girl buy 1 get 1 free coupon. ~k
