Instead of using logo in your prompts, try "identification symbol". Also at the end of the prompt use " -- no text". You will get logos with far less text in comparison to the word "logo".
The "--no text" prompt doesn't seem to work in MJ Version 4 unfortunately. I tried multiple times and couldn't get it to negative out the text. However, negative weights do seem to do ok. Add "Text::-1" inside the prompt was much more effective than "--no text"
If only we could get layered output from these AI tools, now that would be a total game changer. Being able to export from MidJourney (et al) as an eps or similar would allow you to edit easily and quickly. I'm sure this will happen fairly soon 🤞
I think AI for those business owners that aren’t artists… will be a great tool for them to lay out ideas quickly, but none of these examples in the video are really a “logo” to me. More so just clean illustrations. Logo and business branding need an actual human eye to make it right for each individual project. Concept art? AI is already taking over that area of expertise, any other Avenue or graphic design? I think AI has a ways to go before it’s any where near the quality of a professional graphic designer.
If it's just an inspiration we're looking for, there's big damn world out there to get that from. And if the user is a non-designer, then editing this one to make it usable is another heck of a task.
To all the people thinking of 'making logos' this way, please don't. I'm sure MidJourney is great for coming up with ideas, but they're just that... ideas. The resolution of your created .jpeg logo is way too small to be used commercially, especially at a print DPI of 300. You would have to create the logo in MidJourney and vector the logo yourself inside of Illustrator so that the vector can be resized and adjusted. In the future, if MidJourney spits out true .SVG files, then I'd be curious.
someone who finally gets it lol. i cringed when he stretched out the logo to fit the box in canva lmao. That, and the logos generated with ai look so generic they're easily forgettable and wouldn't be competitive in the real world. I never understood why someone would start a company/business if they can't even afford to hire an actual designer to make a proper logo lol
First of all, after getting the logo, you use ai upscaler to bring resolution up without losing quality. Then you take Ilustrator and turn it to vectors. Save as SVG and you have professional looking vector logo. Voila.
What do you do to make sure that these AI logos are highly derivative of an already established trademark? Do you still do the normal pet search? Or is there a way through mid journey to make sure that it’s not exactly the same or extremely close to something else?
The thing I've been playing around with is ask for things like “flat vector wolfman” to create the graphic mark. Then combine with text to create the full logo. since virtually all logos it creates are “square” or circular.
Another thing I'm thinking was inspired by a tattoo design prompt. Especially “tribal tattoo design” gives you a super clean black and white image which should make an Illustrator Image Trace easy.
Hey, great video, thanks! 🙂 I don't have that sidebar with the midjourney Bot Icon, which you added to your server. How can I make it appearing? Thanks for help
Creating a logo that way will result in you having trouble later if you need a vector or a big print though. It's great for inspiration but to really get full power you need to retrace it in illustrator (or any other vector tool)
My thought exactly. Great for concept generation, but you would never (or should never) be using these as final deliverables in a project or for your business.
im so glad somebody said this , i love some of the designs that ai can create but not being able to make it as a vector iis asking for trouble and problems down the line - overall that makes this video worthless
