Great video! A lot of people are posting Midjourney tutorials and guides right now, but I found this was one of the best for beginners. No drivel, just the important facts, good links and crediting other people properly. Kudos!
I tried your exact same ChatGPT Prompt "Write an image prompt for generative art to create a colorful, stylistic wolf" and ChatGPT provided a very long reply and was not something I could use for Midjourney. So much change in 6 months since you made this video. Learned a lot from you. Thank you
i like to the use the main chatroom so i can see others as i wait for mine and get inspiration. At first it was frustrating scrolling up to find mine. But I learned in the main chat there is a button in the upper right corner next to the search box called inbox. and it sends all your creations there, which is like a private box in the main chat. which is SUPER useful.
I learned about Mid-journey from your channel. Creating mages for my shorts and content with Mid-journey is so fun. I am so grateful to learn from you. I am now subscribed.
@mreflow Matt, this old video at 14:30 made me create amazing art deco posters variations in the style of Charlie Harper, Jean Dunand, Edward Mason Eggleston and French illustrator Georges Lepape. From robots and grand prix cars to our two cats in tuxedos drinking wine. Great images for posters and other projects we have in mind after a few retouches in Photoshop Beta. Thanks Professor Wolfe for sharing and teaching new tricks and prompts for us, retired seniors catching up with the digital era and learning AI in 2023, to elaborate upon.
I often take alot of what I make then put it back through the bot as a reference and get some really unique art that I've had alot of people like! Lithographic is a prompt I use and I never see anyone else use it.
Today, I am starting my education about MidJourney (I am not even subscribed yet!). This video has taught me so much about the process, and I can't wait to jump in. Your tips and directives are priceless. Thank you!
Thanks for the video Matt:) I learned many things related to midjourney and started my Print On Demand Business in Redbubble using midjourney and Documenting everything about my Print On Demand journey in my channel.
Messaging the robot one on one was the missing trick for me! As I am always doing multiple things at a time, searching form my images or upscale was really putting me off. I did simply not know that! Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the great guide. A couple of points about settings. You need to type /settings with a space after it before hitting enter. I missed out the space and the settings box did not come up. In the settings box, MJ version 4 is now selected as default. That must have changed in the last couple of weeks since you uploaded the video.
Thanks for sending this over! I appreciate you taking the time to look into this and provide such an informative resource. The video was great and it's clear that a lot of effort went into it. It's always helpful to have resources like this when starting out with Midjourney, so thank you again for sharing your findings!
Super video Matt...I could go on and on, but Cliff Notes version for me, it took 4+ hours to go through the entire video because of the ideas that came to me as I watched. Super helpful. I owe you a beer....ok, several.
Hi Matt! I've been using DeepDreamGenerator because I found Midjourney too confusing with its distracting interface. This is the first video I've seen that really explains things in detail and I love how you show us exactly what to do. Absolutely love these images and want to give it a try myself. BTW, I'm a San Diegan too! Grew up there but living in TN now. I'm going to have to spend some time watching more of your videos! Thanks so much!!!
Really useful and appreciated, though would have liked to have a brief explanation on how the prompting is understood so that we know how to type the prompts. For example, do we speak like a human, do we shorten certain things, how are commas interpreted, what do 2 colons do, how to separate subjects in words so they're not merged together visually, etc.
OMG!!!! What a fantastic video you have made!!! Very educational and mind blowing what can be done! Thank you so much! I have subscribed to your channel! Thank you! BLESS! 🙏
Thanks for sharing this informative tutorial. In this connection i have written thousands of 'Midjourney Prompts' to create stunning images in seconds. just copy and paste them. If anyone wants to get, reply.
Would be helpful to mention that midjourney has free trial but that version has a lot of restrictions, like number of images. You also can't message the bot directly in the free plan
@@MuhammadAbbas-ml2nb how? please share as I get error that "Free trial users are not allowed to DM the Midjourney Bot. You can upgrade to a paid plan to do so, by using the /subscribe command or visiting the website"
@@tanookimarketing BE QUIET. How dare you ASSUME what I DESERVE to have from Matt. Matt is my GOD, MY SAVIOR AND ALL KNOWING DISPENSER OF WISDOM. Great video. Very helpful. I got a message saying I couldn't DM anything (use a slash) since I'm not a paid member. I really wanted to try it first. After I got rejected by the bot, I went into the newbie section. I couldn't make anything there either. They want to make me pay first.
You are a grrrrreat Wolfe! Great video. In my renderings, I find MJ has a tendency to center all subjects right in the center/upper center of images, which is very frustrating. And I have tried all kinds of tricks to move main subjects off center, but they only work 5% of the time. Have you found a way to place the main subject in a certain area of the image, like you would in a camera viewer, say using the rule of thirds? When/If you ever find a way, will you please share making a video on how to specifically move the subject to a place on the image? It is very frustrating to keep throwing prompts at MidJourney's algorithmwall and hope it will stick somewhere and watch the blurry image turn into into 4 more images with subjects in the center. Thank you.
Question. Great video. Very informative. My reference picture doesn't match the midjounrey generated image. The images are way off. No where near being close. How can I fix that?
Hey Matt great tutorial, 20k more views in from 3 days ago! Woooo! I have a suggestion... make a video from some of the great comments in the comments to your video here

you can just make a server and then invite midjourney to your server

3 minutes into this video and THIS was exaclty the information I was needing. Thank you!
This is hands down the best collection of Mid Journey tips on You Tube.
WOW! That's saying a lot. Thank you so much.
