I'm convinced that's meant to be an early Pokémon research thing, like how real world scientists 100s of years ago got a lot of things wrong, the Pokémon researches in PLA believed Pokémon had the ability to shrink
I’VE ALWAYS WANTED A REALISTIC & SHOW ACCURATE 3D PRINTABLE POKEBALL DESIGN!!! IT’S BEEN MY ACTUAL DREAM!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!! Edit: Sadly I can’t make it myself😞 But at least I know it’s out there!!😄
I believe the reason the pokeball looks a bit pill shaped is because the black line that goes around the ball is supposed to stay a constant width all around, but on this pokeball, it is twice as thick between the top and bottom than it is around the button. I hope this doesn't come off as aggressive cause it is a great build regardless! it looks amazing, good job!
Thank you so much for the input - we think you are right and that extra thickness does not help to keep the round appearance consistent - but we still love it haha
@make432 I had a similar problem when I was modeling one for a 3d render and found that to be the reason it looked a bit off. You're final build is amazing and I hope to be able to make similar things in the future ❤️
for a long time I wanted to do mini diorama in pokeball, I was wondering how to make a good looking, openin pokeball for it. now I know, THANKS for design ;)
@@make432 It can take a time 😅 Unfortunatelly I lastly do not have much time and Im slow with those things and want to finish one first. But for sure when I finaly do this, Ill remember to somewhow give you photos of it ;) sometime in future :D
Awesome video! Had the idea if weighed down the bottom of the ball with a metal bearing might be able to make the PokeBall more or less stable to stand up right on its own if it's rolled on a flatfish surface 👍
next time i really recommend a black base coat for metallic paints like vallejo's metals. it helps make the metallic paints look so much better and saves you a few layers
it looks so great but it makes me so frustrated that you put the button on the bottom lol *Although I do love that you kept that in mind and made it so it could be flipped if you wanted it to be
Would it have been possible to invert your print so that the supports connect to the outside of the shell and inside of the inner rim so no nesting issues occur?
Looks amazing! I purchased the stl. outer shells stl isn’t smooth and has a squared surface. Did you use a different file or did you sand all those out?
Strange, the files we have for sale are the same we used in the video. Which slicer did you use, I wonder if maybe it is rendering the file differently?
heads up. i bought the stl file and it doesnt work that well with regular pla type 3d printers. I havent had any troubles with my printer so far except with this file. its failed making the button 3 times, the shell 2 times, and an emitter. I decided not to do the other bits as it
The site to purchases these says recommend a resin printer. FDM printers wouldn’t be able to print this? I don’t see any crazy small details that would prevent it…?
In our testing we found that FDM printers could not reliable print this design (due to details and very thin parts). We highly recommend using a resin printer for this particular design.
Lol, so I managed to do this a few times with an FDM... But now I'm having some issues printing the cages without it breaking 😂 so it is possible, but I see now why it's not recommended

Awesome just Awesome 😎 amazing job sir, and for the record the hole idea that pokemon SHRINK soo they can fit a poke ball is the dumbest think ever thought of.
It was a hard choice, but after investing of our allowances into buying Pokémon cards in the early 2000's we thought we should honor the cards . Also all you would have to do is swap the paint colors to match the show and games.
Thank you for watching! Make sure to subscribe if you haven't yet, lots of cool projects on the way 💛
"Pokemon can just shrink" is the biggest "wait what" reaction causer towards Minimize since Dynamax-raid Pokes began using it
Right haha it made us question everything haha.

That is a fantastic Idea!
The build quality is amazing beautiful colors and all with budget supplies excellent work

Yeah, we for sure learned that the hard we - when we made our second (less pill shaped version) that is exactly what we did. Great tip, thanks!
Absolutely amazing… you’re an artist!
Thank you so much!!!
Very well done, your paint booth looks great too!
Thanks - that spray booth has been a dream of ours since episode one haha.
Love this!
Thanks!
Quality builds
Thanks!
I would love to buy all 3d files from your builds, lol. So much details.
Glad you like them!
I believe the button to open it belongs on the red part
We referenced the artwork on the the back of the cards!
Awesomeeeee
Thanks!
Babe wake up new Make/Do video
we are honored to be blessed with this meme format, thank you haha
It looks amazing! Just one question; Is it possible to make the button be attached to the red side instead?
Yep! You would just have to flip the red and white shells!
@@make432 Good, thanks and keep going with the excellent work! Greetings from Mexico😊
Keep doing legendary 😎
Thank you thank you we will try our best
Why haven't we figured out how to make them small then grow to normal size like they do in the show???
I can say, in the 4 months since you let this comment we have been working so hard to get the shrinking to work... but no luck haha.
it looks so great but it makes me so frustrated that you put the button on the bottom lol
*Although I do love that you kept that in mind and made it so it could be flipped if you wanted it to be
TEAM UNDERBITE! Haha yeah we grew up with the pokémon cards and for some reason the button is on the bottom so it just feels right to us.
Would it have been possible to invert your print so that the supports connect to the outside of the shell and inside of the inner rim so no nesting issues occur?
For sure! We usually try and put supports on "non-painted" surfaces, but you could easily switch the supports to the outside to make a better fit!
Cool
Thanks!
Whats the size of the hinge ? 8 or 10mm?😊
Looks great! What modeling software do you use?
Thank you! We used Fusion 360
I love the hinge design. Do you have to sell the stl for it ( the plane one, not the pokeball design) as it appears on @0:50
This is so dope! I’m new to 3d printing. What filament did you use for this project?
Thanks! We actually printed this one using resin on our Anycubic Photon Mono X
Any chance you could upload some pre-supported files to the website? it looks like a pain to support and if you guys have already done the work...
What 3d printers work best for this model?
This project requires a resin printer - sadly and FDM/filament printer cannot handle the small size
Does a moncolle fit inside it? ☝️👀
I know it says to use a resin printer. Would PLA be hard to do? Has anyone made this in PLA?
We highly recommend using resin for this. We designed the files with resin tolerances in mind and sadly PLA cannot handle the small scale
heads up. i bought the stl file and it doesnt work that well with regular pla type 3d printers. I havent had any troubles with my printer so far except with this file. its failed making the button 3 times, the shell 2 times, and an emitter. I decided not to do the other bits as it
We are very sorry to hear that! Please send us a message on wherever you purchased out files (our site or etsy) and we will happy send you a refund!

are there any Cura settings recommendations available?
whats the spray you put with the glue ?
That is an accelerant spray that makes the CA glue cure instantly - not necessary, unless you are impatient like us haha
What 3d printer do you use? Resin/FDM
I see the Prusa! lol
We are using the Anycubic Photon Mono X - however the parts will fit on smaller resin printers!
What size brass hidden hinge are you using ?
we are using these hinges - amzn.to/3TuY5Ui]
