WOW you did an amazing job - it is so cool to see our project in the hands of such a skilled maker. You are so right, you will be the only one who sees the little mistakes haha - absolute love the result!

You are too kind. I can only take some of the credit for painting it. You truly had a fantastic model to print. I hope I can drive more people to your channel. I can tell you guys put a lot into your channel and it shows with the high quality content you produce. Thanks for allowing me to making a video from your awesome model!

I agree 100% that this hobby is a learning process. I recently bought a chrome pen for my minis and I was like “Whoa! That’s TOO SHINY!” A little black wash toned it down.

Yeah failing/Learning is all part of the experience in my opinion. Yeah the chrome markers are pretty great if you want it super bright.

Some advice. Those holes, put a bit of resin in it before sanding then cure again. I use a toothpick to get just a very small amount. It might bulge out a bit but it'll come out smooth after sanding. On another note, for the Rustoleum mirror effect I'm pretty sure you need a gloss black base coat under or it needs to be sprayed on a see through surface. It was one or the other but cant remember which.

6:40 What is this red "pen" thing? Is that an electric toothbrush that's been modified to accept tiny sanding discs?

Nice job, your painted pokeball looks better than the metallic version IMO.
As far as the little holes and other inconsistencies… just use the resin. Get a toothpick, dip it in your resin, put a bit in the gap or hole and hit it with some UV.
Not only is it instantly cured, it adheres the best since it’s the same as how the rest of the print was made. Resin layer to resin layer.

Need a respirator for all sanding. Wet sanding does not put particulates in the air. So no, not no matter what.

For the inside could you do gilding with either Aluminum foil or Silver leaf?

This guy has decent 3D printing videos but do not listen to his paint tips lol

Nice video. One thing I wish you'd do is wear gloves (low mil nitride) instead of touching with bare hands/fingers. Your skin has oils in it and that's why when painting we use wax and grease remover before spraying. Just FYI. Keep the informative videos coming.

Thanks Andy! Yeah I should wear gloves and I do sometimes but I honestly hate wearing them...

To get this mirror chrome you could try electroplating. I've seen some videos about this process in 3D prints and it looks just awesome!

Great job! And stop beating yourself up over perfection. Too often we focus on the destination instead of soaking in the journey. I'm 61 years old and learned two more things because of your video (water in the plastic wood, and that primer/filler auto paint) so for that alone, I thank you. I work with wood and seeing how you used those two materials and the successful results you had with them made me want to add them to my arsenal. - "Shut up, get out of my house, who are you?" LOL!

Try a gloss black basecoat before applying the chrome.

Painting is one of the hardest things to do honestly. I print a ton of models and painting is my bane. Sanding, prepping, getting dimensions perfect, easy. I always try for realism so it makes it even harder with very detailed parts. Liked the video though. I might make this for my son since he loves Pokémon.

Painting just takes practice. But I understand what you mean sometimes it can be so hard to paint what you envision. Thanks for the comment.
