Really love the way you try on things you haven't tried before. Like the Falafel vid. If I could wish for anything, it would be if you could try a bit more diff things. I love going for a giro after a night out when I go to Crete, get into a right mess walking home trying to eat the bugger, I like it with chilli sauce .

On holiday in Rhodes I had the misfortune of renting a room over a giro ( pronounced geero ) shop - this was in the late 80's they were goat meat and gorgeous - surrounded by nice restaurants I still virtually lived on giro's and almost missed my transfer to the airport going home. I managed to do it by telling the driver of the coach I'd get him a couple if he'd wait for me...... at about 20p each at the time it was no biggie lol
Bloody love the fact you're in my home city. I live in Rotterdam right now, but - pre-pandemic - I was back monthly, and these gyros I was constantly recommended. For some reason never managed to get one. Quite how, I dunno - my office is on Prince Street, which is the famous cobbled lane, just off Market Place, under the stone arch.
Got a good mic by looks of it attached to his jacket, I thought same at first... How come nobody is looking over at this big chap shouting about his food 😂
Next time you visit hull I reccomend zorbas @ the Clarendon public house ..its a takeaway inside the pub who also do the usual pizzas etc but gyros,souvlaki, huge burgers . You certainly wont be disappointed.

Over here in the states we have mostly Gyro shops and not too many kabob shops. Place I go to has “Greek fries” which are their amazingly seasoned chips with a Greek vinaigrette sauce, garlic sauce, feta, and gyro meat. If you ever see it try it out, you won’t be disappointed! Also the baklava is amazing if you’ve got a sweet tooth.
I guess it reflects the fact you have way more Greek immigrants that Turks in the US? Actually the UK has had a fair bit of Greek immigration too (primarily from Cyprus) but it never really translated into Pita Gyro joints for some reason.

@@greenvilla7 Food evolves. Just look at many of the Indian dishes in the UK... Most of them have been invented in the UK and most people in India wouldn't recognise those dishes. In Mexico and the Caribbean, there's a lot of food like Pasties that originally came from Wales and Cornwall in the UK. Food merges and evolves all the time.

Everything is nice and fresh. The guy has the persinality, but I would like to see more description past 'the chicken is nice'. I mean what do you mean by 'nice'? Is it tender? Does it have a charred taste? etc etc.
@@autumn5852 nah, they seem very similar but the meat and marinades are different as well as other not so obvious differences. I'd have to get rid of any onions or tzatziki sauce myself
@@stephens3909 thank you, that’s interesting, I didn’t know that although when I was in Greece I had Gyros and they definitely tasted delicious, much better than kebabs but I just thought they were a better quality or something. Good to know :)
