  • Pete decides to change the battery in his toothbrush - easy you say, but not when the toothbrush is a Braun and designed not to be maintained. In my opionin an example of bad environmental practices and exploiting their customers, you of course should make you own mind up!
This is model 3756 that uses Ni-MH Hatteries but the process is similar for all similar models, just make sure which battery it is before you buy one.

I just have a strong dislike for throwing away perfectly good things just because the manufacturer wants to make it impossible to change the batteries so they can charge crazy prices for a motor and a PCB with about $2 of parts on it! Not as tricky as it looks, video and explanation makes it look more involved than it really is.

Terrific video - a great watch, although I reckon that such a repair is beyond my skill set (and range of available tools!)

Proves the point about the design being intended to make you throw itcaway. Anyone buying the battery with tags on it could get away with just a soldering iron with a smallish tip.

I did indeed damage the internal clip slightly and while it did go back together I wanted to be more certain so I applied a small blob of resin where the clip had broken inside just to keep it closed more firmly. It should be possible to open and change the battery again in 5-10 years!
