    So, as we strive to find a meaning in life (Viktor Frankl, Logotherapy), we occasionally encounter a situation (or stimulus) which find to a threat, so we run away, or we fight back against the perceived threat to obtain safety (Fight or Flight response, Walter Bradford Cannon). However, we have another option, and that is to take- 5, or pause to re-group and think out which way to best respond. I once took an experimental learning course that involved overcoming our fears which was centered on the teachings of Larry Wilson (Founder of Pecos River Learning), and a key emphasis when facing such stimulus as fear was the "Stop, Challenge, Choose" philosophy - a concept that directly mirrors "the Pause"...
