Indonesia's military is designed as defensive force almost exclusively, and relying in defense in depth strategy. It discourage any invader on the promise of heavy casualties. And yes, we do need a lot of modern strategic defense capability and some ability of power projection. That being said, we love our aussie mate!

well we fought both dutch, british, american, and japanese in ww2. guerilla warfare in tropical enviroment will result in long battle, and with both army and lots of citizen already used to jungel/tropical enviroment it wouldn't be a big of problem living in that enviroment, and we have around 250million people that has no fear to death ( like seriously there is one suicide bomb and active shooter, the the people just watch it like ... a show, and i think one woman died tried to get selfie with the shooter) and yeah living between american and british allies is hard if we attack. remember vietnam ?

Nevertheless in a situation as in this, allied intervention will undoubtedly be significant. Indonesia's capital is a coastal city, and the allies wouldn't have to cross jungles in an ineffective guerilla warfare. Thus are more likely that an amphibious assault on the capital will ensue and bombing on industrial and millitary targets will bring Indonesia on its knees quick.

Their is distrust with Australia conducting lots of spying on the Indonesian government but Australia actually provides millitary aid and training to indonesia as well as aid for Indonesian schooling. Indonesia is most populace Muslim majority country in the world and it does have a number of extremist groups including those who carried out the Bali bombing terrorist attack which killed Australian tourists. It's for this reason that Australia puts a lot of focus on maintaining stability within indonesia and why it helps the Indonesian government with education and military training as well as aid during natural disasters.
Also keep in mind. Destabilising Indonesia could trigger a refugee crisis which would be disastrous for Australia

Why do people keep forgetting that amphibious landings across Australia's top end would be a failure due to 6 foot deep mud and lots of saltwater crocodiles. Landings would have to be made at very specific points. Also, China already owns half of my town and has a lease on a major top end port.

Would like to see how terrain plays a role in that, Brazil is mostly a warm country while Argentina gets -30F in the winter, I think an assault on either country would eventually fall into stagnation due to the vast amount of distance to cover. Though Brazil has a larger population and military, a ground assault would eventually face lots of guerrilla resistance as a lot of the people in argentina are decent hunters.

Australian soldier here. We actually do have a healthy respect for the Indonesian military; it's big, they've got plenty of capability, and the individual soldier is well drilled. That said, they haven't really got the capability to project enough force onto Australia to take over (most of which is empty, inhospitable land), nor have we got the capacity to do the same (we're suited to deploying battalion groups overseas, and would struggle to get anything larger than a brigade overseas).
At first I was like "here we go, another Country vs Country scenario that just goes on raw numbers of aircraft/ships/troops". I was surprised to find that the video was actually really well thought out and well made. Solid work, subscribed.

However, it made me realise how cursory your analysis is. It doesn't factor infantry equipment or training. Australian army troops are amongst the best trained in the world.
Since WW2 tropical rainforest warfare has been a training priority. We learnt the hard way in the Pacific Theatre. Australia has tropics... And our infantry all see training there.
I still think you got it right on that front though - there aren't very many of them.
Obvs it's just a one on one as well and PNG and Timor Leste logistic support and NZ defence support can't be included because that would open a very large can of worms.
The RAAF used to fly F111 fighter bombers specifically because they had the range to hit Jakarta and fly home.
